Not yet I'm beginning to think it won't happen.

CFC is a townlean, for passing the GJ reaction-test, and also being tonally different than star trek (although she was a replacement, so it's hard to tell). I didn't particularly like your 51, because it seemed a little self-aware regarding GJ, and the rest was a bit more wishy washy than you usually are. But it's page 2.

If this is actually game related, and your bring up AA, I am going to be a little cross with you.
God name locking abilities are the worst. I don't need to hate you for hating yourself.

So, are we just ignoring the whole Proph "I wish I was town" thing? I know it's probably some hare-brained scheme, and I'd love to give a better reaction, but Shrugs
I'm kind of bummed out I didn't draw town with this playerbase, though.
What does that mean, exactly?
I was debating being really cryptic and stuff, but I don't think that'll be much fun with all the back-and-forth so I'll just be forthright.
I'm not town. I am a neutral, and my role is probably the cruelest joke that Bur randomized me to (given what happened in Ace Attorney).
I am Nanase Kuja from Iris Zero, and I am a neutral vanillafier. (aka Cythare's role from Iji Mafia 2).
I have the ability Iris Hunter which lets me target a player and vanillaify them except for unlockable and factional abilities. I win (AND LEAVE THE GAME AND OTHER PEOPLE CAN STILL WIN) when I've vanillafied every living player.
I also unlock my latent ability when the day ends and my vote is on the player who is lynched. I will reveal this ability on Day 2.
So, what does this mean?
1) If I get lynched or eat a vig shot, sure. I'm not too terribly invested in this game because the last thing we need is for more neutral victories after the stupidity of Ace Attorney/Mind Screw/Star Trek.
2) You guys can vote for someone for me to vanillaize them. If not, I either won't use my ability or have Cythare's fiancee decide my target (see my sig).
3) I will attempt to play this game like a townie, even though solving the game is against my win condition. I really do like this playerbase, and I'm not going to let this stupid neutral role get in the way of that.
I've played three neutral games thus far and each one of them has been a loss. The optimal play for a non-anti town neutral is to immediately claim Day 1 and fully cooperate. It'd be pretty sweet to finally win a neutral game, but if I don't, no big deal.
If you look it like that, then yeah, which is why I'll have the town vote on who I vanillaize.
Yeah, but... Hrm. I've got a few problems with this plan, and this role, but I'd like others to chime in before I go objecting any further. Half the game hasn't even checked in yet. I might just let it go until post game.
I believe you, for what it's worth, I'm just having trouble evaluating what impact your role will have on the game.
Proph, is there any wording about using your ability on an already vanilla person? Just wondering if it has to be YOU specifically that vanillaizes them, or you just need to hit the non-vanillas to win.
Hey Mindreaver, good to see you too. You roll scum yet?

What do you think of me and my wagon, big guy?
I am actually a big guy. OMG, Large Male on MTG website. Alert the presses.
I almost always like you early GJ. Your "wagon" consisted of two RVS votes lol. So my thoughts are, probably nothing there. D_V's vote was neat. I couldn't decide if he was voting you because he thought you were scum, and should die. OR if he just want to say that lynching scum is the plan he favors (vs no lynch). I thought it was nicely worded.
BTW, love the claim proph, but if you spray that vanilla jizz over here, we're gonna have a problem.
Proph, is there any wording about using your ability on an already vanilla person? Just wondering if it has to be YOU specifically that vanillaizes them, or you just need to hit the non-vanillas to win.
It says that I just need to hit the non-vanillas to win, so yeaaaaah, my role is pretty anti-town.
I won't even blame you if I get lynched or vigged somewhere down the line, my role is pretty +scum. Maybe in exchange I can just NOT vanillaize people to survive and then vanillaize some people near endgame to win? That certainly sounds ambitious though.
Whatever, my role sucks and I wish I rolled town. I guess Bur wanted to stop me from having my one millionth town game in a row.
A bit busy right now but will post more later I will need to get used to long phases as well since used to 48 hours at most. I will say though not sure how saying you don't want to no lynch is townie points for Soren and others. Scum in my view will also want a lynch on day one, since they have more info than us a lot less risk to mislynch and can protect their own and since we all have powers of some sort it seems even if not unlocked yet, of course they would want a free kill. Not to say I endorse no lynch I don't like to waste my time and like to be proactive I just don't like giving points for a answer that would come from either faction.
This is a new place though so this may be the meta here, at any rate will post more later. Mainly On the third party claim
I'm still pretty against the idea of no lynch, as I feel like that gives control of the game to the scum, but I definitely feel like Gentleman Johnny explained his reasoning satisfactory.

We could use his role as a second Psuedo lynch. Basically before we hammer someone, vote another scummy player for his night ability. This has a couple of issues, as doing this opening invites scum to counter kill him, but even doing so takes one of their nightkills, which is one less play towards their win condition. Thoughts?

My problem is primarily with the way Proph has chosen to play the role. He's rolling over and telling us to lynch or vig him. It doesn't sit well with me, and while I believe his role claim he's either strongly going against the spirit of the role by openly claiming and trying to get dead, or he's up to something else.
It's a problem at the moment because it forces me to play against the set-up, instead of against Proph's behavior. I can't try to determine if he's actually pro-town or not by his actions because his actions are being dictated to him via vote.
I'd like to save the rest for post-game though because it's not directly relevant and there's a chance I'm missing something.
Anyway. I think we can do better than lynching Proph-the-probably-neutral. On that note,
unvote vote: Jackrito
@Jack:
Why so eager to keep lynch options open? No one is cleared based on just their response to GJ's plan, that would be foolish, but there's nothing wrong with saying "I like Soren's post."
Hey guys, came down with pneumonia so sorry for the late arrival, been sleeping my past few days away lol. But since I'm just stuck in bed, should be able to check out what's happened so far and get to posting (which I'm sure is next to nothing, but still).
I'm anti-no lynch for the following reasons:
-I rely on behavioural analysis (like Sorenblade) to catch scum especially in a closed set that I have no idea the density of power roles, along with the extent of bastard modding.
-the power of unification works in town's favour just on numbers alone, I prefer to take the time to feel out early days on the chemistry of town, and how we can work together as a team. Bad town collaboration= big scum advantage
-this is more of a sub reason to my second point, the power of voting is the only certain constant in every game, I believe we need to work with the power of votes to draw on information that can be used to work out alignments later as the game state progresses.
I apologize if my views are outdated, and don't agree with the onsite meta but that is my general view on that topic.
My views of the gamestate at the moment:
Prophyaxis #74:
I generally have mixed views here given this neutral role is more anti-town, but he wants to play town because he feels like he doesn't deserve a chance on reaching his wincon? Forgive me here if my tone sounds harsh, but how do we know that this isn't a bunch of balony, and this isn't his actual role. I seen more neutrals lie about their abilities/win con just as a strategy to get closer to their win con. I think he is being truthful about being neutral as I would imagine scum from a general pov would not claim such an anti town role to risk going into the gutter on day 1. (feel free to refute this point though as I lack experience greatly in mafia in comparison to the playerbase)
So I am feeling skeptical.
@prophyaxis if we left you alone for the time being, will you reveal your latent ability to us?
Jackrito #82 stop it with your wifoming, it's bad for your health.
#92 town vibes from Silver, could be a bit of my bias that my view on the claim seems to coincide with his. Though when I see a player who criticizes the claim/intent is telling me they are game solving, and that gives + to town credit
#95 I'll back up his behaviour by saying I know he prefers to wait for a catalogue of posts before comitting to early reads.
Slight town reads on Gentleman Johnny in #50 (trying to move past RVS/forming early opinion on players a few posts before) even though #45 left a bad taste in my mouth on the game mechanic discussion.
My vote:
Going to skip out on RVS, the gamestate has moved passed this. Vote: Ghosting
It's been 2 hours, and we didn't even get anything. Not trying to be harsh with the sickies, but don't post if you don't plan on posting anytime soon.
I don't need no potential scum trying to look "busy".
Why would I not keep my options open early, when I don't know anyone here so working people out so far. I also agree that no one is cleared, and they is nothing wrong with saying it is a good post. My issue comes from I don't feel it is that good and can be given whatever faction you are. It just seemed to me a little to easy to praise and give a positive view of someone on it and was not needed. Why do you see me questioning this as suspect?
Because it's a little odd to say that we shouldn't be giving town points to people for their reactions to the most significant event thus far. It reads like scum worried that we're going to find the other town members too quickly and they'll get PoE'd out (Process of Elimination). To me, anyway.
@lil4leafclover:
You've played with Jack and Soren, then, I guess? Does Jack usually take issue with other people having opinions on other people this early as town?
Assuming you're referring to the GJ wagon, it was 2 RVS votes, D_V's "you didn't acknowledge me when I asked if you were scum" vote, and zomg's "he's using to many acronyms" vote. Not a very impressive wagon.
Kosa I feel disappointed with the entrance. Felt the itch, pushed no lynch (which gets the thumbs up from me) but does zero analysis with plenty to work on.
Mindreaver/CFC/mystery box/one of hunt/Vaimes/shadow/ghosting
So interestingly, Proph's role is the exact opposite of mine. Well, close enough. We have exactly opposite goals (if I'm understanding our roles correctly).
I don't really care for GJ throwing me into a pile of scum when I haven't even started playing yet, I feel that's generally unhelpful but if anything it's more unhelpful for himself since he's the one creating dichotomies with a player who hasn't posted.
Lil looks like they're trying to start a wagon for no reason, you're voting someone who said they'll have time to read today and has pneumonia lol. I ended up passing out and then doing homework, now I feel decent somewhat alive. Weak vote but I'd like to see where it goes.
I'm not sure how I feel about Proph, aside from him going against my own win condition. If he's saying he'll play along with town for now, we may as well keep him alive, but as long as he is vanillafying people I don't think we should be?
These are interesting statements, especially the first one, because if you want Mafia to kill you, doesn't telling them to just...make them not want to? That, or it becomes a big mess of WIFOM. As in, saying it has either no point, or works against your goal?
Why would a townie ever say this? That he doesn't know how he's supposed to react? Why do you care about how you're supposed to react if your feelings are expected to be genuine if you're town? Yeah just burn in hell.
Vote Silvercrys
I won't be moving this vote toDay unless it's for a no lynch, but given how many people said they also have unlockable abilities via no lynching, I'm holding the suggestion until it's clearer who's who here.
- D_V's #73: , but the same could also be said about you. That won't matter since you're probably town because Silver is scum.
- Cyt's is a general for no particular reason. Maybe I'm just odding that she's actually talking, but the feeling is there.
- I don't care about neutral!Proph. He's a great town analyst and he prolly won't last long if he's targeting the correct targets anyway, so let it happen.

I think the biggest problem with this is risking hitting the wrong asset. I really hate to do this but i really think our best move is to remove the wild card from play, i can just see his ability screwing us down the road plus lets face it, day 1 lynches are not always the most productive anyway
Not with that attitude, they aren't.
It's better to have a shot at lynching mafia rather than 100% missing. Proph can be vigged if people feel that strongly about it.

Pretty sure he's just being courteous. Is this a policy vote, or what?
---
zomg and Silver are both townleans. I just like Silver's posting in general, and thought zomg's post about deliberately not playing for his latent ability was towny.
aaand then there's Kosa's last post. I see nothing wrong with the posts you're citing, nor does that look at all like a slip. I know I have mixed feelings about Neutrals, even if I secretly support them from the bottom of my heart.
To be clear, yes, I know my latent ability... but at this point I'm guessing it might not be latent, it might just be a zero-shot ability that gains shots under certain circumstances.
- Silver's #48 and #49 makes me wanna him dead on spot. Hey Silver. Gimme a reason to not want you dead on spot if you could.
I'm town, that's good enough right?
...And then #62 is a chainsaw defense.
Eh? I'm not defending anyone there and I'm certainly not answering questions meant for someone else. As I've already told Scarbo, the wagon on GJ looked like trash.
Why would a townie ever say this? That he doesn't know how he's supposed to react? Why do you care about how you're supposed to react if your feelings are expected to be genuine if you're town? Yeah just burn in hell.
It's not about how I'm "supposed" to react. I don't how to feel about it. He's playing against his wincon by claiming, which is gross. Did you not read my other posts on the subject?
So interestingly, Proph's role is the exact opposite of mine. Well, close enough. We have exactly opposite goals (if I'm understanding our roles correctly).
I don't really care for GJ throwing me into a pile of scum when I haven't even started playing yet, I feel that's generally unhelpful but if anything it's more unhelpful for himself since he's the one creating dichotomies with a player who hasn't posted.
In games on a few sites I have been rolling on, I have found that if the town just started taking out the lowest poster each day, all the scum get knocked out ;).
Instead of worrying of being 1 of 4 on my list, you can just be townie and get off my radar. For the record, you did a great job of that. If you are posting only once a day, or every other day, they better be of quality. You are now lean town, congrats, and try not to blow it.
In addition, it's not even 200 posts in. I think it's safe to assume that list is going to change.
These are interesting statements, especially the first one, because if you want Mafia to kill you, doesn't telling them to just...make them not want to? That, or it becomes a big mess of WIFOM. As in, saying it has either no point, or works against your goal?
Shhhhhhh, why would you even bring this up? If it's WIFOM, it's certainly not town WIFOM.
Did you just call your own WIFOM 'certainly not town WIFOM?'

If I am reading again right, I think he's saying by analyzing his post openly, it makes it easier for the Mafia to actually succeed in the WIFOM, not that his play is anti town. This makes sense to me, but also is putting a lot of trust on him by not talking further. That's really the question at hand, how much do we trust GJ?
Also, color me unimpressed with the GJ wagon.

It's been 2 hours, and we didn't even get anything. Not trying to be harsh with the sickies, but don't post if you don't plan on posting anytime soon.
I don't need no potential scum trying to look "busy".
What's wrong with it?

@lil4leafclover:
You've played with Jack and Soren, then, I guess? Does Jack usually take issue with other people having opinions on other people this early as town?
I do not.
We have two people claiming that they do?
Show of hands for this one.
Just to be clear you do know your latent ability?
I do not know what it is
Mafia should try to kill me
Proph should not target me
ez game, ez life.
Clover feels town to me, CFC lean scum.
Vote Huntzilla. Wow me, and I might move this vote off.

I also don't know what my latent ability[ies?] is/are, but I feel I could guess a couple likely options based on my flavor.
Mafia Stats 2016-2017:
Town: 1-0 | Scum: 2-0 | Neutral: 1-1
These are interesting statements, especially the first one, because if you want Mafia to kill you, doesn't telling them to just...make them not want to? That, or it becomes a big mess of WIFOM. As in, saying it has either no point, or works against your goal?
Mafia Stats 2016-2017:
Town: 1-0 | Scum: 2-0 | Neutral: 1-1
- CFC's #44 made me . Then I read it again and it seemed ok. I'm torn.
- Silver's #48 and #49 makes me wanna him dead on spot. Hey Silver. Gimme a reason to not want you dead on spot if you could.
Oh ok #51 is a lil better. Like, barely.
...And then #62 is a chainsaw defense. And LOL #75 is a freaking slip:

Vaimes is V/LA through Monday morning

Too hedgy. Could have used this opportunity to improve read on Silver, but instead left the read hanging.

You. You are the reason Newcomb didn't sign up.I'm a sucker for Neutrals. My past!Neutral!self says he loves you and wishes you all the best in your endeavors.
But that's one player ~mostly removed from the scumteam pool, which is fun. Not with that attitude, they aren't.
It's better to have a shot at lynching mafia rather than 100% missing. Proph can be vigged if people feel that strongly about it. lol
Sucks to suck. :I
Pretty sure he's just being courteous.

I'll be back tomorrow evening, zzz.
Shhhhhhh, why would you even bring this up? If it's WIFOM, it's certainly not town WIFOM.

@silver: fair enough.
There's a lot of information being spilled about roles and abilities. Any reason to share this so early?
If I am reading again right, I think he's saying by analyzing his post openly, it makes it easier for the Mafia to actually succeed in the WIFOM, not that his play is anti town. This makes sense to me, but also is putting a lot of trust on him by not talking further. That's really the question at hand, how much do we trust GJ?
