I had a design for Oona which I was expecting to come real. I also made Hideaway creatures well before shadowmoor. They're somewhere in this area, probably page 3 or 4.
A lot of simple card ideas. The most recent I can think of was Counterbore (in Shadowmoor), though, costing 1 less in my set. I made the card over a year ago.
Kami of Ancient Law was stolen from my personal card archive. When I made it, it was called Golden Pudding. It was the exact same, except the name! (It was an Ooze)
Mimic Eulogist3UU
Creature - Shapeshifter
Whenever another creature is put into graveyard from play, you may pay 1U. If you do, Mimic Eulogist becomes a copy of that creature and gains this ability. "For something that is devoid of feeling, I find it strange that it remembers those who have passed on."
2/2
made up no mercy word for word, with the exact mana cost around the time tempest came out; the only difference was mine was called "punishable by death".

Current Fallen Angel (Anson Maddocks art) Count:449!!!
When editing cards in the first post of a thread, PLEASE leave the original so that everyone can comment on the thread and not just those who saw the original. Those who did not see the original can't leave comments as we don't have any idea WTF is going on.
Colourless mana comes FIRST! Try actually looking at a Magic card some time. It is NOT UU3, it's 3UU. What game are you making cards for?
I can no longer tell people to check their card names, because I am made of suck and fail.
Just saw smash to smithereens - I had the exact card, word for word, slotted for a set I was making. Phooey!

Greedy Artists make me sick.
I propose that anyone offended by their commentary about Richie ("Good riddance that he is dead", ect.) NEVER credit these artists on custom cards where their art is used.
My cards will all have ComboFTW as the artist from now on.
Back before Rav was announced, I was thinking about how cool mana that could be paid with more than one color would be. I had created half-and-half symbols (and third-and-third-and-third symbols, and quarter-and-quarter-and-quarter-and-quarter, and even a five-parter).
Then, I thought about how cool it would be to have cards with different effects depending on the colors of mana paid (I had thought of a 1/1 for 1 that had vigilance if you paid W, flying if U, fear if B, haste if R, and forestwalk if G. Still a cool idea).
Then, I started worldbuilding, and came up with different organizations that had different color alignments...
then Ravnica came out and I kinda scrapped the whole thing. I think I still have the modified mana symbols if anyone is interested (I never actually got around to designing the set; I was just trying to get my modified version of MtG Editor to compile).
This thread made me remember another one. Awhile back, I forget exactly when other than that I still worked at Winn-Dixie, and not too long after this article came out, I actually sent MaRo a letter with an action figure bribe (see the article for why). The letter contained a design for a 'Planeswalker's Apprentice'. Even though it was a creature, and not a new card type, it had a lot in common with Planeswalkers, right down to using counters to keep track of the use of abilties.
Now, MaRo's fan mail is probably screened by WotC lawyers for exactly that reason, but I can go ahead and hope that he actually got it, read it, and my ideas somehow influenced the Planeswalkers.
About 2-3 months before the Suspend mechanic was spoiled, I came up with the following card for a "joke" set I called Unscrewed:
Bureaucratic Red Tape1U
Instant
Counter target spell. A spell countered in this way is not put into its owner's graveyard as a countered spell normally would, but is instead placed into the designated Removed From Game zone. Three paperwork counters are placed on the card removed in this way. During each upkeep of the player claiming ownership of the card removed in this way, they may remove a paperwork counter from the card removed in this way. When the last paperwork counter is removed from a card removed in this way, the player that owns that card may play it without paying its designated mana cost. A creature spell played in this manner gains haste. Sign here, here, here and here, on pages five through thirty-three for each of these forms, in triplicate, then wait patiently for an available clerk to begin processing you. Thank you for your cooperation.
Soon afterwards, they spoil Delay, and I'm thinking "NOT FAIR!"

Um... Delay was in Future Sight and suspend was a TS mechinec.
in addition, the suspend haste thing was only due to play-testing, so I kinda disbelive.

The guy who found the new art for shock and other 10th edition cards on the wizards site.
Butcher of Words.
i came up with "Wither" two years ago, and called it "Rot"...and i had the rulings exactly the same, as in the "in the form of" wording...Those BASTARDS...but hey, i'm happy that something i came up with, was worthy of being printed...now if only they had printed my original card:
Negative Scape
Land
During your untap step, tap Negative Scape rather than untap it.
Untap Negative Scape: Add 1 to your mana pool. Play this ability only once per turn and only if Negative Scape is tapped.
I called it Potion Trader. THEY put it in Kamigawa...
I had a cycle too.
I don't think anything else from my 'set' was printed.
EDIT: they're in custom SET creation.
Props to SpiderBoy4 and High(~)Light Studios for awesome Banner & Avvy!
Navrica
Argentum
My List
-
Spores of the Swarm - 1G
Instant
Destroy target creature. Then, unless was spent to play Spores of the Swarm, put a 3/3 green and black Plant Zombie creature token into play.

Very much like Pongify. Unfortunately everyone seemed to think it was out of color. Mercy Killing shows that to be false.
Of course, this was at the end of 2007, so it could be parrall.
Making it uncommon makes it better in limited.
I did get the cost right.
Edit: Scuirimancer did the white half "years ago." And revealed it on the same thread.

This essentially became Cemetery Puca
though, they were like:
Regen

Regenerate target creature
Not, the mix of colorless/colored mana in shadowmoor.

Enchanted creature loses all abilities and it's power becomes 0
Of course, Lignify is arguably better, and my card is arguably better.
