I have a card in a foreign language, and it appears lighter than its English counterpart. Is it automatically a fake, or do foreign countries have their own printing standards?
Variation between countries is ultra common. I think that Japan, for example, 100% does its own thing paper-wise. Hell, I have cards I pulled from Kaladesh where the red almost looks yellow-orange.

The American market is super xenophobic against other languages unless they're "status" rarities like Japanese and Russian. So the only cards worth a damn counterfeiting in foreign languages are FBB Revised Dual Lands.
