So I have an azorius lockdown deck with Azor's Elocutors as one of my win conditions. I run two in my deck so if they where both in play, one of them had two counter and the other one three would that live up to the rules. Azor's Elocturos technically had five counters on him. Just the counters are on two different cards. Help please?
When a card refers to itself by name, it only means [this object], not any others that happen to have the same name. So in your scenario, each of your Elocutors only looks at its own counters, and neither has enough for you to win the game. The same principle applies to all other abilities as well.
Please use card tags for this forum:
[c]Azor's Elocutors[/c] = Azor's Elocutors
To answer your question, no that doesn't work. Azor's Elocutors triggered ability is only looking for the number of counters on that particular object, the fact that another object you have has the same name is irrelevant in game terms. So in order to win you have to have 5 or more counters on the one whose trigger resolves.
