So if i copy Ramos, Dragon Engine with Sakashima the Impostor what would happen when i cast a spell? Take this for example; I have Ramos and Sakashima out in the above mentioned fashion. Then i play a 3-colored spell. Would Ramos and Saka each get 3 counters? would Ramos get 6? only 3? the reason i am confused is that Ramos specifically says "Whenever you cast a spell, put a +1/+1 counter on Ramos, Dragon Engine for each of that spell's colors." and Sakashima becomes a copy of target creature but is still named Sakashima.
This is a Quicksilver Elemental situation: All instances of Ramos's name are treated as Sakashima's while Sakashima is copying Ramos - a card's name in its own ability is effectively shorthand for "this object", so both creatures' abilities will trigger and both will get three +1/+1 counters when those abilities resolve.
Rule 201.4b: If an ability of an object refers to that object by name, and an object with a different name gains that ability, each instance of the first name in the gained ability that refers to the first object by name should be treated as the second name.
