Probably mostly a Commander thing to abuse triggers with, hm? Otherwise, could be cute in Limited stopping removal. All in all mad decent and a Desert for the subtheme, which I'm loving.
Not bad, but I don't see this being used in constructed anywhere aside from EDH.
Roon and Brago might want it. Exile something like an Avenger of Zendikar in response to removal and bring it back later.
Is this really too complex for uncommon?
It's not too complex, it's power level concerns for limited. Being able to blank point-removal and ambush an alpha strike is quite powerful, even if the card itself is incredibly slow.
So who can't see due to the brightness of this damn card? Also, this isn't exciting. This'll see play in a re-emerging Eldrazi deck in standard. That's about it.

Sad to see a functional reprint of safe heaven. It wasn't good back in (homelands?) (oh!) the dark and neither in Time Spiral. Make functional reprints with a twist of reserved list cards damn

Safe Haven was originally printed in The Dark.
I can't see much use for this except as a Limited combat trick or in Commander decks that need another way to abuse enters-the-battlefield abilities.

Lapsed DCI Rules Advisor - Retired from playing but still hanging around
Anyone remember playing safe haven only to get blown out by stone rain. Good thing land destruction is barely a thing now, and etb triggers are way better.
I know what I'm going to use it for and its not blanking removal or ambushing alpha strikes; THI-EVE-RY. Thats right.
The best thing about Endless Sands over Safe Haven is that it still makes mana which makes it less of a dead card in the hand in case of multiples. Go ahead, blow up my land, see what happens. Its not like your kidnapped army is trapped in my desert and only by my benevolence can you even have their safe return. Got a Siege Modification on your rust bucket? Why thank you, now I'm going to walk up, take it for myself, slam it into you and then bury it in the sand so you can't have it back.
As the one person who apparently runs Safe Haven in EDH (Ephara, God of the Polis). I will be happy to replace it with something faster, but sad that It'll no longer surprise people who haven't seen it and don't read it.
this is EDH realness for Azusa...also i think it should see some fringe constructed play
since azusa decks don't run safe haven i have a doubt
its a really slow way to blink creatures, and a prime target for acidic slime
i don't see this having any impact in edh at all beyond initial OMG THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT IN EDH

The ability was first on a land I think.
Same, it's essentially a tribute to it that can tap for mana, and costs mana to "empty".

The unfortunate thing is that you can't permasteal anything this way, since there's an "owner's control" clause.
