Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
I just wanna appreciate the 'lava axe dinosaur' (that stays in play, no less).
The uncommons in this block are really interesting. Adanto Vanguard and the merfolk both have potential for constructed play.
I can actually see the rare pirate guy in the sideboard of a 'sacrifice matters' theme deck, with the new enchantment makeshift munitions. Maybe even a couple copies mainboard.
EDIT: My god, Adanto Vanguard is a vampire??? Edgar gets scarier by the day.
Would you like to read Commander stories? Check my latest stories, coming from Lorwyn and Innistrad: Ghoulcaller Gisa and Doran, The Siege Tower! If you like my writing, ask me to write something for your commander as well!
A white card paying life to activate something is interesting. Monstrosaur is a nice limited beatstick. The rare pirate looks to be pretty good for Standard and might become an annoyance for many and it's good it has 3 toughness to be brought down by Lightning Strike.
Repeatable Limits of Solidarity slapped to a creature? Hoooo boy, here we go.
Also colorshifted uncommon Colossapede with two great upsides... In Red? Is this real life?
a) In Zurgo Helmsmasher EDH with all the 'destroy' boardwipes... there's been a sharp lack of low-curve indestructible creatures that would fit the theme of that deck (keep on blowing up the world but have my creatures survive the wipes).
b) In Death's Shadow modernCasual brews, as a repeatable life-payment to get my DS right where I want him. Seems White is the one color Death's Shadow is rarely seen paired with (We've seen plenty of Grixis and Jund DS... time for Mardu DS?). I might actually do in constructed what I once did in MM17 sealed: use Ranger of Eos to fetch Death's Shadow!
You have no idea how long I've waited for a repeatable Threaten on a creature for my RB "steal & kill" EDH deck

What's the most resilient parasite? An idea.
A single idea from the human mind can build cities.
An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules...
Ya Dino is insane at uncommon. Pre-release against red you have to be nervous they'll roflslam that guy at any topdeck.
And the Pirate? That might be the best limited rare of the set for drafting. That ability repeatable is disgusting. Glad it's butt is size 3 and they limited it to your turn.
I'm starting to think Ixalan will be very feel-bad in limited. Repeat threaten, out-of-nowhere 5 hasty trample, unblockable dudes. These make for very unsatisfying games when you're on the wrong end of it with no ready answer.

My snapshot at the moment is to agree with you. Perhaps there's a bunch of removal to be revealed. There's usually the obligatory 5 cmc black and/or red and some white kill attacking etc, but there are a great number of deal with me or you're dead cards that stretch deep into Uncommon. Still hopeful though.
It really annoys me how Wizards is just printing black cards in a white frame ... "Screw you, color pie! Go Vampires!"
Other than the life payment and general kneejerk reaction to white vampires, Adanto Vanguard is still in-pie for white. White certainly gets more indestructible than black, and 3/1s for 1W are basically the new standard for white two drops.
Am I wrong in thinking the Crew is going to be an absurd bomb in Limited? 4/3 that gets their best blocker(s) out of the way and/or hits them with them?
No, you are not wrong. The only clear drawback the Crew has is that you can't use it the turn you play it...oh, and Lightning Strike. After that, though, your opponent probably has a difficult time winning as you take their best creature every turn.

It's Apocalypse Now.
Charging Monstrosaur--ridiculous name, to be certain, but it is still the Reality Smasher of dinosaurs. It can't be pushed, struck, abraded, or cut so that is a good thing if you are the one using it.
The only thing the Adanto Vanguard needs is lifelink so you can attack with it, pay 4 life, then get 3 life back for your trouble.
Yep, it's a recurring theme in the movie.
Also, that dino is insane for an uncommon. EASILY first pick in draft over nearly anything else. Imagine drafting 2+ of these.
And the Pirate? That might be the best limited rare of the set for drafting. That ability repeatable is disgusting. Glad it's butt is size 3 and they limited it to your turn.
