Wow, congratulations, you just proved me wrong, and not that he played tasigur once post-ban and the deck got picked up to be shown. It's not like he wins several trophy per league or anything.
No surprises for me, it's a pretty grim format to play, specially if you are expecting some kind of high variance game. The decks you meet are fully optimized killing machines, in fact, much more efficient than some legacy decks you see in the leagues. I'm not sure who are the targets for this format, but it certainly does not fit into any description of EDH that you can read.
The problem is that they totally ignored EVERYTHING done for commander 1v1, and of course letting Vial play for so long, letting Breya/Baral/Tasigur/Jace play now its just awful in my opinion... I know Tasi/Jace are not doing that well, but that for me its because there are brutal decks before it, and when they go Tasi will take up the meta with Jace... Its like everything we've seen in DC/Leviathan, and they don't care about those datas, Breya/Tasigur got banned in DC, Jace/Baral got nerfed in Leviathan, they are just ignoring all that and making some weird decisions on their own, so its like a format from scratch, no one wants to enter a league they are forced to play with 3-4 commanders, DC got the number of players back then, because of the huge diversity it had, you can't expect people to be interested in the format when you see something like this:

Yep, I lost a lot of faith after July 5th. But I also hate DC20 right now... which is why I'm playing way more Legacy and Old School than Commander.
I lost faith before that because our LGS wanted to keep playing DC20 so I started playing legacy instead. Now our LGS changed to WotC format which is also quite broken. I might come back if it gets better at some point but for now Legacy and MP-Commander will do.
In all honestly though, I dont think a 1v1 commander format will ever be functional. Just look at the banlist of DC20. There are cards on that list that just doesn't make sense, and the same is now true with the WotC banlist.
I said earlier (maybe in this thread, cant remember) that I truly believe this format needs to include sideboarding, but everyone seemed to be quite agressive on that "statement". I still believe it to be true though.
DC is not perfect but it's infinitely better than this *****show and all it asks of you is you don't act like a RDW deck doesn't desserve to exist and win. If Legacy and Modern players were this whiney about aggro, Burn would be Tier 0 in both formats.
As for the DC banlist, I'd unban Marath and Necrotic Ooze.
DC worked quite well, unfortunately banning of marath as one of the most popular decks AND lifepoint change next killed the format pretty much. Also, the fact that we had period of few months with 20 hp without proper banlist was also crucial IMO. Not to mention that you need to properly build the deck and be prepared to face zurgo.

DC had a series of updates that made people cringe hard. If Marath got axed because it was too powerful people would be ok with it but she was banned because they said it would nerf creature strategies. They then give us balance. Cradle was also banned to nerf blue, as they said. Then, they don't ban Vial right away just to see if it is indeed too strong. They were all over the place.
I still like playing with 20 life more than 30 since it does open up more decks to be viable, but that is just preference and opinion.

Marath ban was wise in my opinion, especially now at 20 life. Yes, Marath was an oppressive general towards creature strategies. Regarding cradle: it was probably the correct thing to do to ban cradle if your philosophy is to make the format less 'swingy', but that definitely killed elfball as a viable archetype, which makes me lean towards its unban. Unbanning balance is just dumb. The card is not allowed in competitive constructed formats for a reason.
At 20 life I do think unbanning necrotic ooze is okay since aggro can reasonably race the combo most of the time. Anyhow, this isn't quite the thread to discuss bannings and unbannings, but I wanted to share my opinion.
Regarding the wizards format and trying to stay on topic: to me it seems clear that it is a much worse format than DC20. Control apparently reigns supreme and other non-blue strategies are severely handicapped, even with access to stuff like vamp tutor for decks splashing black. DC20 has control and aggro decks, the only thing that is truly lost in the format are dedicated combo decks, which - in my strictly personal opinion - it is fine. I already find it ambitious to try and make combo decks in singleton formats, and most decks that were 'combo dedicated' were usually decks that had 2-card or 3-card combos that could play a normal game up until the moment they found the combo piece (like prossh food chain and sidisi ooze). Decks like Imperial Animar and Jace VP where a great part of the deck was directed towards comboing off were the exception, not the rule (and both of these decks that I mentioned are still viable, imo).
But I still wouldn't play it before sideboard would be an option. I am fine with autopilot decks being part if the meta, I just need a sideboard option against them.

Completely disagree with many cards from your 'unbanning' list. Marath is truly oppressive if you're playing creature decks. I would go as far as to say that, before partners were introduced, he was the best midrange general. It would remain to be seen how it would interact with partners now. Humility and tarbernacle also seem crazy to me. Both cards are unbelievably oppressive tools against creature strategies. Tabernacle in particular would be completely bonkers given the amount of land tutoring the format has access to. Not to mention that I disagree in unbanning this particular card due to price considerations: every tier control deck would need a tabernacle, but do you know how much one of them cost?
Regargind the moxes: I like their banning in keeping with the philosophy of containing fast mana. Their card disadvantage is negligible given the tempo nature of the format, and whenever they were drawn in the first turn it felt like you were very far ahead or very far behind (if your opponent had it). I do think necrotic ooze is fine, and cradle maybe is fine. I think food chain should also be fine.
P.S.: I agree and have advocated for sideboards for a long time. However, you need to be aware that the banlist would probably grow if sideboards were introduced, since some sideboard cards are a total beating (chill against monored? hibernation or nature's ruin against monogreen? Even karma seems bonker against monoblack, heh.) Not saying these would be the exact cards in the new banlist, but I'm sure the list would grow.

I don't see why cost should be a factor in determining a banlist. I'm surprised at what these sites are listing Tabernacle at, but it's like 3 Revised dual lands, or one Timetwister, or two Candelabra, etc. The format is expensive, and no one seems in a rush to ban dual lands because 4-color decks need 9 of them.
Of the top control decks in the past few months, only Leovold can easily tutor for Tabernacle. Narset, Geist, and Baral can't really (Tolaria West seems like you're asking to die if that's how you spend turn 3 and then you want to "skip" a land drop on turn 4). Long-Term Plans? I dunno.
Both Humility and Tabernacle are key parts of lockdown strategies, which are really under-represented in the format, and I think a fun deckbuilding challenge. So I'd like to see them available for that reason in particular.
