I've tried to edit it with cards I either already have or are willing to nab because they are a low enough price. Right now the deck is at 51 cards (the ones I have or can afford to get)
All the cards in the list at the bottom of the post are the cards from your deck that I really can't justify affording all at once. I can get those over a period of time, but right now I need suggestions to replace them.
My other concern is the land base. This is way more complex than standard land bases, and your land base seems pretty out of my price range. What's a good land base that would work with this deck and wouldn't cost an arm and a leg? I've posted the lands that I already own so need suggestions there too.
You could try Harmonic Sliver as a replacement to Aura Shards, but be careful, because the sliver is not a "may" ability...meaning you'd have to blow up your own artifact/enchantment when he enters the battlefield if you don't have any other legal targets.
There isn't a very good replacement for Birthing Pod - I'd probably just run another creature tutor. Wargate is good, as is Chord of Calling, which is a multi-format star and is currently standard-legal, so easier to get. Genesis Wave is also a valid option.
Duplicant isn't easy to replace as it's creature removal tacked onto a creature. In its place I'd probably just run more removal, maybe Return to Dust.
Hinder and Spell Crumple are very powerful counter magic in EDH, as they tuck commanders. As a replacement, I'd probably choose any number of other counter spells, including the original Counterspell, maybe Dissipate and Dissolve.
Oracle of Mul Daya just thins the deck for you, and there are other cards that do that. The standard-legal Courser of Kruphix does a decent job of that as well, though he's got a hefty price tag on him right now.
Anyway, the great thing about this deck is that it's very customizable, as any creature you can find with an enter-the-battlefield effect that you like can be very good. Make sure to search the multiplayer forums for other decklists, as there are quite a few that are helpful and powerful.
Very solid list! Only complaint is I don't think Sigil Captain will be as good as you hope, since it only benefits your 1/1 guys, of which you don't have many. If you want that effect, and for 4cmc, you might consider Master Biomancer instead, which is a really fun way to make your dudes bigger. Good luck!
Edit: And Sylvan Primordial is banned in EDH. If you want that effect still, you could use Woodfall Primus, who's a solid choice and is easy on the wallet (last time I checked).
I thought sylvan primordial was too good to be true. I made the adjustments. Let me know what you think. After adding the cards I don't already have, looks like the deck will cost around $75 in total from Tcgplayer.
Here is the new deck list. It's based a lot off yours and I realize I'm cutting corners by sacrificing some of the more expensive card, but this means I can use it quicker and more often while I wait for cards to update it with.
Deck update: My meta has begun jamming Containment Priest in a lot of their decks, and it's wrecking my deck's strategy. On the plus side, having a Containment Priest in play turns any of my bounce effects into permanent removal when used on opposing creatures; however, my deck functions best when using my ETB creatures repeatedly to grind out incremental advantage. Of course I have a ton of spot removal, but the priest having flash has caught me "with my pants down" quite a few times. Has anyone else seen a surge in Containment Priest's use?
I have tested Clever Impersonator and it's been "meh". It's been powerful at times, but at best I'm getting to match the strongest card on the board, which is sometimes game-ending, but other times it doesn't advance my boardstate at all. Anyone else been testing with this guy?
Good list. Obviously a bit more creature-intensive than my list, but I think that's a viable route to go with the deck. How have games gone for you so far? Your deck looks a bit slow, so I'm surprised you don't run a few more sweepers. How has Riftsweeper been for you? What about Faith's Reward and Ghostly Flicker? You might consider Ghostway instead of the flicker, just because it will flicker as many or more permanents as would the flicker, but you can also use it to save your board from wipe.

It is a bit slow, but we have a slow meta, so isent a big problem. I dont need so many sweepers because im the gut been sweeper off, kinda "im the guy who knoks"
I have good results with the deck so far. We usually play free-for-all, 2HG, and 2vs2 or 3v3 teams. In free for all games i usually get focused a bit, because i got the best late game deck. In 2HG or teams i have a very good match if my teammate has a control base deck, i have a almost sure win in those cases...
Riftweeper was a good addition to the deck.
Faith's Rewards its against wraths and armaggedon effects, there is a few LD on my meta, so protect my own lands its very important. Ghostly Flicker is a combo/lock card. Ghosly+archeomancer/eterneal witness+mistic snake/venser/removal its very sick, and you only need 3 mana...
I've used Gaddock Teeg outside of the Commander slot in a number of decks, though not in Roon. (I'm thinking of building him, though, which is what brought me to this thread.) If I'm running him in the 99, I try to only run 5-6 cards that he absolutely shuts off, and to have none of those be win conditions. My provisional list is only running six cards he'd shut off: Green Sun's Zenith (which I'd normally play before Gaddock would be an issue), Conjurer's Closet, Fact or Fiction, Birthing Pod, Austere Command, and Rite of Replication. Because of that, I'll be trying Gaddock, but I won't be building Roon until after Christmas, probably.
(As an aside: I really like Gaddock going into a strange meta when I'm traveling and getting in some games at a store, because he's a kind of hate that doesn't tend to set people's feelings off.)
Got some games in this weekend for prizes, did pretty well (won about half the pods I played in). Thoughts:
I like Privileged Position, but I'm considering adding another source of card draw in its place. I often found myself with good starting hands, but no way to keep the juice flowing. I'm losing more to lack of cards than targeted removal.
Oracle of Mul Daya feels a bit low-impact for four mana. I'm considering replacing her, although an argument can be made to keep her around.
I want more basic lands. I might be replacing a few lands (anything that CiPT) for a few more Islands and Plains.
Although I'm winning with some consistency, the wins are slow - usually off the back of a board lock. For the sake of my friends, I might find room for a few cards to kill faster. Craterhoof Behemoth and Avenger of Zendikar come to mind, but they lack the pizzaz that I want. Anyone think of finishers that are a bit more creative/fun?
Played some games and picked up a Voidslime and Seedborn Muse last night, so now comes the hard part: what to cut. I'd like a bit more power to my deck, so I'd like to cut some small-value cards.
Changes:
12/10/14:
+Voidslime
+Seedborn Muse
-Oracle of Mul Daya
-Conjurer's Closet The Oracle and Closet were both decent cards, and performed okay, but nothing spectacular. The Closet is just too slow for what it does, and the Oracle is decent but as the deck becomes more powerful with more draw power, the need to filter my draws is reduced.
I can agree with the changes. Oracle didn't do much in my deck and Closet just seems too slow for the deck for it to really be valuable.

Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)
Now I know that is kinda cute, but it has worked out for me in terms of a way to finish the game. If you have Prophet/Muse + Smuggler/Deadeye + Snake/Venser/Whelk then you can basically lock people out of playing spells unless they have excessive amounts of card advantage and the 3 blink cards act as extra counter spells. I also run Survival of the Fittest, Wargate, and Fauna Shaman as extra ways to tutor. I think the creature counter spells keep theme with the deck more, but, perhaps counter spells are just better if the meta is hardcore. Those blink cards also turn into extra draw and so many other effect too though. I run around 43 creatures though...
Parallax Wave is another card I really like. The usefulness of it doesn't show until you have it out with Eternal Witness. It is a nasty combo.
A few other cards I don't see are
Kiora's Follower - works well with Roon and Coalition Relic and also Birthing Pod. I think that is enough of a reason to run it, but perhaps not.
Fierce Empath - it is really good early game and if you can blink it, it becomes an insanely strong engine late game.
Restoration Angel - I haven't actually had the deck built without this card, but it is a body that allows instant speed blink. Our decks are different though, so maybe you don't feel it is as strong.
Angel of Finality - you don't have ways to deal with someone's graveyard without this card. Having said that, I haven't been impressed by it, but I feel it is needed. The deck has ways of tutoring it, but I've never got it to date. I haven't played a ton of games but still a fair amount...*shrug*
Riftwing Cloudskate - I love this card. Again, it probably shines better in my version, but if you can suspend it turn 2 and start blinking it, it just stops people from playing the game. It is another copy of Duplicant in some cases and it bounces lands if you get down to 2 players.
Soul of the Harvest - I'm actually curious to see if you've tested this out much. I am very unimpressed by it. 6 mana for no immediate value is a lot to ask of this deck. I myself am considering cutting it.
Again, our decks are different, but I've enjoyed those cards.
Hey Drizzt, sorry for the delay in my reply! Had a very busy holiday season.
Regards to your suggested cards:
In terms of the one-shot blinkers (Cloudshift, Momentary Blink, Ghostly Flicker), most of them were in my original list but were later cut because they are too situational. I try to make sure just about every card in my deck is useful at almost all points in the game, and these cards just didn't hit the mark in that regard. Too often I was sitting around with them in my hand, watching everyone else play magic.
Mystic Snake and Draining Whelk I found too expensive for what they do. I have hard cheap counters in the deck, and in the late game I'm usually tapping out to be proactive.
Parallax Wave is a great card, and if more of my cards interacted with it, I'd definitely consider it.
Restoration Angel was also in my original list, but got cut for being to dependent on the rest of my board. I find that I'm usually only able to get 1 creature and maybe 1 source of blink before I lose creatures, so I need to make sure all my creatures are very impactful when they hit the board.
Soul of the Harvest was also a card I used early on, but I've found sources of card draw that are harder to stop are preferable. People killed him very quickly, but nobody seems to mind a Rhystic Study
Hey all, Fate Reforged hit today, so here are some cards I want to test. I played a lot of prerelease events, and even with that experience I'm still not sure I want to go in on manifest cards. The plus side is that I can blink and a manifest creature to have it come back as the creature, but the downside is that I could lose some very important noncreature cards.
Monastery Siege - both modes could be helpful, depending on what my board state looks like. Efficiently costed too.
Whisperwood Elemental - looks interesting, if I end up liking manifest. Protects me in the case that I feel like overextending.
Citadel Siege - again, both modes look like they'd be helpful, depending on the board state. Also, the second mode triggers on each opponent's combat, which would be a very powerful political tool.
Valorous Stance - removal that will hit most threats in the format, and can also be versatile and protect something of my own.
Any of my fellow Roon players test any of these so far? (particularly interested if the Sieges are worthwhile)
Shift and the elemental are the two I'm considering.
I also like Temur Sabertooth as another riptide laboratory effect to protect my creatures further.
However I have no idea what I'd remove for any of them

Actually, I was curious about mastery of the unseen as a mana sink, honestly. If I were to play with manifest cards I think that would be the first card to try. I wondered if anyone else thought that?

Manifest is very unsynergistic with etb creatures.

not so much when you blink out said manifest and it returns un flipped... I'm looking at manifest like future sight in this regard.
Hey Outcryqq! I'm unsure if you're still looking for suggestions for the deck, but I might be able to offer some advice as a Jenara, Asura of War player that originally ran Roon.
Oracle of Mul Daya - I'd caution against cutting her. She's just so good in the beginning of the game, and you have plenty of shuffle effects to make sure you hit lands. I'd personally cut Coalition Relic for her, since she can be rezed from Reveillark and your landbase seems pretty solid anyway.
Farseek - Good tech for someone with a budget manabase to get those shocklands, but in your list it seems pretty underwhelming. You said you don't want to run Nature's Lore because it's unneeded for ramp, so might I suggest Explore? It's a decent lategame topdeck since its just a cantrip at that point.
Consecrated Sphinx - No ETB effect, so it might not be what you're looking for, but it's still an amazing card. Worth consideration if you feel like you're missing some draw power
How has your experience been with the CIPT lands/man lands? (Halimar Depths, Treetop Village)? In my experience they're not great in EDH, but maybe that's a meta call as I don't really need chump blockers. If you're looking for good lands that are pretty cheap, the first 2 I'd suggest are Sungrass Prairie and Skycloud Expanse. They're also great budget lands for people looking to build the deck!
Also--any thoughts on an equipment package? Stoneforge Mystic obviously has an amazing ETB effect, and Swiftfoot Boots and Lightning Greaves are pretty amazing for Roon, since he's a higher CMC and was usually a target when I played him. Even without an equipment package, I'd recommend these cards as they allow instant use of Roon and protect him from removal.
If you're looking for some more blink power, Brago, King Eternal might be up your alley. He's kind of a target in multiplayer, and takes a turn to get online, but so does Roon. Pretty good if you get him with Greaves or Boots
My Cubes - The Busted Cube. A fully functional, almost 100% custom cube. The project started out by asking "What if other colors got cards on the power level of Mana Drain,Ancestral Recall, and Time Walk?" Draft and enjoy!

Again, our decks are different, but I've enjoyed those cards.
Regards to your suggested cards:
Anyway, let me know how your deck is working!

However I have no idea what I'd remove for any of them
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)

Manifest is very unsynergistic with etb creatures.
Legacy: Grixis Delver
EDH: Derevi Stax
Pauper: Goblins
not so much when you blink out said manifest and it returns un flipped... I'm looking at manifest like future sight in this regard.
As for finishers, when I played Roon it was often Armada Wurm + Deadeye Navigator (Well anything + Deadeye really, that card now has a houseban at my LGS for a reason)
In my Jenara, Asura of War deck it's Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger but that's just because I can dump all the mana into Jenara.
