Remember when you laughed at me for calling Jund obsolete and that it would definitely fall to at least tier 2? Told you, bro, and that was coming from a hardcore Jund player.
It's ok, if WOTC overreacts to a top deck like they usually do without unbanning some cards, Jund will return to tier 1 or tier 2, at worst.
Abzans at least having some results in Vegas (Again, people laughed at me when I said push could replace bolts as THE one drop, and that it would switch Abzan and Jund).
Glad to see Junk beat Shadow just now, screw Seth, I know he's a pro, but he purely aims to play every broken deck in every tournament in every format.
These grindy grixis decks are just dominating Legacy and Modern now. Highly interactive that rewards strong tight play. This is what we wanted right? That said, Mirran Crusader is an amazing card now.
I would take all these interactive slug fest over two ships passing one another in the night, any day in any format. Eldrazi, Amulet Bloom and Dredge decks were awful top tier decks to watch and play against.

I completely agree, this slug fest is great. I'm surprised Eldrazi tron completely fell off the face of the planet too. This is probably why Faeries are doing pretty well since it's better for this super grindy meta. I hope someone figures out the Grixis Shadow Matchup, to keep that deck in check.
I missed it, but I'm curious, what makes this Human company deck unfair? legit question, I'm not up to par on the list, any combos like knightfall, or just lots of going face?
In addition to the classic Viscera Seer+Anafenza/Vizier of Remedies+Kitchen Finks combo for infinite life (and a guarantee to draw what you want the next turn), it also has Devoted Druid+Anafenza/Vizier of Remedies+Walking Ballista for infinite damage.
Abzan Coco can deal infinite damage with murderous redcap.

Doesn't burn have a great matchup against Grixis shadow?
It also seems to me that decks that go wide like BW tokens or Abzan Coco would have a decent matchup.
I hope that they don't ovrrreact by banning something from the deck. I would be okay with some unban though like BBE, considering how weak Jund is.
I do know that Aristocrats supposedly has a great matchup with Grixis Death Shadow, but nobody plays Aristocrats nor is it a super good deck.
I also won't say Jund is weak, but I think they need to go back to a more classic jund, with more removals, CA, and disruption instead of DS Jund. But I'm not Jund player so I wouldn't know
Some of us really like watching aggro matchups. I for one like seeing fast balls to the walls decks punishing the slower bigger decks, or 2 of them race. While I like a diversity of matchups, and arent saying I want to see nothing but aggro... Some of these comments make it seems like grindy interactive is the only real way to play magic.
Remember when you laughed at me for calling Jund obsolete and that it would definitely fall to at least tier 2? Told you, bro, and that was coming from a hardcore Jund player.
Not really, I just got tired of you posting that in the Jund thread every other day, ad nauseam. I still think that Jund is great right now, especially because nobody is expecting it.
Glad to see Junk beat Shadow just now, screw Seth, I know he's a pro, but he purely aims to play every broken deck in every tournament in every format.
Well, why would he do anything but? He's a pro, you said it yourself. Don't expect a Formula 1 driver to drive a *****tier car because it's 'more fun'.

Mirran Crusader dies to bolt and khologhan's command. I don't think he's the answer to Grixis.

Kind of, but the Legacy GP had a lot more variety when it comes to interactive tempo/midrange/control decks. We saw lots of Grixis Delver, 4C control, Miracles, Stoneblade, Temur Delver, Grixis Pyromancer etc. , unlike in Modern where something like 80% of those tempo/midrange/control type of decks are a single deck in Grixis DS.

It's not the only reason, but could the variety at least partly be explained by the Legacy metagame still shaking itself out after the top-ban? The Modern meta, on the other had, has had several high level tournaments to streamline the meta?

Its nice to see em, but aggro is fun too.
All the archetypes are nice, I'm saying watching half a year of linear decks nonstop on stream was extremely awful. It's fun to watch sometimes, but when it becomes the norm you're just watching two people playing alone in the same game.
At least interactive decks have interesting lines of play to take, watching two combo decks interact as little as possible was just bad magic to view, I'm pretty sure Channelfireball, SCG and WOTC felt the same
I'm not at all knocking people for what they like. I'm pretty sure the meta is still dominated by linear/combo/aggro even with shadow declared the best deck.

Mirran Crusader dies to bolt and khologhan's command. I don't think he's the answer to Grixis.
It only dies to bolt. K Command is black. And I think DS shadow only has like 1 or 2 bolts. They'll have to sideboard in another 2 or 3 bolts (or replace terminate) to deal with one card along with using the bolts to take care of anything else like Birds or other problem creatures. I like those odds for Mirran.
And it looks like from what I see DS gets beat by other grindy decks, but destroys linear decks. Then again I maintain the opinion that tiers only really matter when players of equal skill at the very top level play. I think BBD can still destroy us 9 out of 10 times if I gave him a tier 3 deck and i play Grixis Death Shadow.

Yes and no... metas do rotate. From what ktken shown, most of those decks beat grixis death shadow. Like... we all know most "pros" dont test and pick the "best deck". Modern isnt like standard, that rarely works.
Most people like wescoe have been running a deck or type of deck for years and thus know it, and its matchups, and thus preform better.
It doesnt help that everyone was like "cool, i need to beat that deck everyones bringing. Have mirran crusader." Or stuff like that.
