Okay, so here is the objective. Create the best Modern deck you can ( 60 cards with a 15 card sideboard) with the main caveat being you may only build with cards that have 7 converted mana cost or higher (Lands excluded of course). X cmc cards like Chalice of the Void would be out because they are 0 cmc cards. Therefore the name " Modern 7-Up". The current Modern ban list will still be in effect as well. So no Dig through Time, Treasure Cruise or Artifact Lands like Ancient Den. There is one last caveat/rule that needs to me made. The Urza-tron lands are BANNED from this format. It doesn't need to evolve into who can assemble Tron the fastest. So that's it.
Now you are probably thinking, WarMachinePrime this sounds like a super slow, do-nothing format that won't do anything until turn 7 when all Phyrexia breaks loose. You would be partially correct. This would be a much slower play style for the first few turns, but that doesn't mean nothing is happening. Just because a card has a 7 cmc or greater doesn't mean it can't be "played". Abilities like Morph, Cycle, Delve, Unearth, Convoke and Evoke could all be played/used as long as the card it is on has a 7 converted mana cost or higher. Manlands are all perfectly playable as well. 7 cmc Trap cards are as well. Pitch spells, like Sunscour are playable too.
So remember, this is a CASUAL format idea. This format is very restrictive by design. No one is forcing you to play it and it by no means is a replacement for anything. But if you like to brew and play using strange restrictions with family and friends but still like the competitive aspect of the game, give it a try. Post up your list here and we will see what the community comes up with. I suppose there could be someone coming up with a "degenerate" deck that somehow wins well before turn 7. There are a few cards that come to mind that may. If you have questions on legality of a card, feel free to ask. Not sure if there are 7 cmc or higher cards out there that have an X stapled on them. Like an X4BBB spell for example. Have some fun and post up your list. Here is a chance to play that high converted cost jank that fills your binders and boxes. Lets see what you come up with. Brew away if you like.

Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
To get things started I'll toss out this hastily brewed BG list. Yes it has 30 lands. Really want to have 7 mana by turn 7. Sideboard is still in progress.

I also forgot that some split cards would be playable as well with the recent rules change on converted mana cost of those cards. So something like Never // Return would be a legal card in this format.

This format is even more of a challenge, and I predict will feature a lot of cards with alternate casting costs or cost reduction mechanics.
I also forgot that some split cards would be playable as well with the recent rules change on converted mana cost of those cards. So something like Never // Return would be a legal card in this format.
