What about if Modern Horizon includes reprints of old Slivers such as Crystalline Sliver and Hibernation Sliver? What could our list look like then? Im really reluctant to get my hopes up to high, but the common tounge do seem to believe in a return of our beloved tribe
Slivers would like Legacy Slivers list by Daniel Nunes especially the 5-Color Chalice (non-Force of Will lists) he was looking at earlier.
Bant might also be good depending on whether the new slivers could work in that color combination.
Crystalline, Predatory, Muscle, Sinew is a powerful core. If they print a cheap life-linking sliver, we might be able to ditch black and go pure bant. Hibernation's loss could be felt as would Frenetic, but it might be worth it for sideboard enchantment.
Either way, I like Legacy Sliver lists or Fast Modern Sliver lists with Crystalline and Hibernation. Striking/Sidewinder/Galerider/Vial for 1 Drops, Lords/Crystalline/Hibernation for two drops. Sideboard would have Syphon, Harmonic, Telekinetic as options.
Don't forget any new cheap new sliver options that hopefully provide Stack Interaction, Graveyard Interaction, Card Advantage, or Cheaper/New Utility (2 mana lifelinker for example).
has anyone thought about/tried using Mirror Entity in order to get around the bounce from a flipped Thing in the Ice?
maybe it’s too slow, but seems it could be something. it’s not a tap ability so you could activate the turn it comes down making it good to vial in or coco for in response and you would only have to pay x=1 to keep your board. in addition to that since it’s a Changeling and therefore all creature types at all times you would be able to use Homing Sliver’s slivercycling to find it if need be.
I know a guy in the Facebook group has been trying that strategy vs TITI, but I dont know how its working for him as he doesnt post event reports. I personally think its a bit slow as well. Shields of Velis Vel is basically the same thing but 1 mana and instant, it can even be cast via Sliver Hive and found via Homing sliver. I prefer to remove the TITI instead of allowing it to transform, hence my board plan includes bringing in Warping Wail and keeping Dismember in.

kind of what i thought about being a bit slow. i didn’t think about Warping Wail, that’s great idea. i ran that to counter terminus for a bit so adding it back in should be no problem
I personally wouldn't run it on the whole. We value lands for sliver hive to some extent. I mean its possible for vials and such or weak slivers, but i am not sure it is exactly worth it. Maybe in the sideboard.
Haven't you tried yet to modify the sideboard and include a combo on it to surprise our opponents? As on g2 they usually bring creature removal we could include a combo to our sb that don't use creature, something that they won't be prepared or anything else, I don't know, just a thought that came in mind. I don't think it would be a good idea, as our mana base uses too colourless mana.
Just played a 18 people tournament today. Went 3-2 and on top 8 lost to affinity. Lost to martyr proc(impossible matchup) and company with reliquary and colerahelm combo (he settled the wreckage my letal attack on g2 x.x). Won against budget hollow one, mono green stompy and humans. I played homing sliver main deck and it won me games against humans (fetch for galerider) and stompy. I’m a little desappointed with the deck in current meta, almost every deck is good against us. I’m thinking to try fast slivers instead the company, as my field is aggro, this version might be better, not sure.
Interesting, what makes you think Martyr is a bad match-up? I have never lost a martyr match, a few games yes but never a match.
I recently went back to having a striking sliver main in my list to deal a little better with all the creatures coming in my local area, I would recommend it highly if you dont already run one. It saved me at least once Monday night. My updated list is in my signature as usual.
Report from Monday:
Round 1, 2-1 vs tron. Tron opponent stumbled in game 1 and I managed a turn 4 kill. Sided out 2 diffusion, 2 dismember and striking sliver, brought in 2 harmonic 2 damping sphere and 1 telekinetic. Game 2, mulled to 6, got ugin'd on turn 4 after stumbling myself. Game 3, tron opponent never found tron and died turn 5.
Round 2, 2-1 vs spirits. Lousy game 1 with only 2 shock lands all game. Brought in 2 syphon and telekinetic, sided out 3 diffusion. Found a syphon in game 2 and flipped the game on its head. Game 3 earned an achievement, got all 4 sedges in play .
Round 3, 2-1 vs elves. Got blown out in game 1. Brought in 2 syphon and 2 chalice. Did the blowing out in game 2. Game 3 was intense! Opponent got all 4 clan callers into play, I was down 20-3 and was facing 12 elves 3/3 or better. Cast a coco and hit the perfect 2 cards... striking sliver and syphon sliver. I managed to block advantageously and gain life enough to start killing elves and stabilize my life total. The following turn dropped a Lord and I swung with my fliers for 21.
Nice result! Yes I’m going to try striking MD.Sindwinder isn’t good against creatures too?
This was the first time against martyr and felt terrible. He had 8 global removal MD and 4 path. Game 2 I was able to counter one wrath with warping wail but he had another one and was always gaining life.

If you want to try fast slivers, go with my build. Most of the times people do it wrong and then say Fast Slivers dont work. That being said dont expect it to be super deck, it can be good for some metagames but Im not sure it is now, fundamentally its not a hard deck to handle - we rely on tapping creatures sideways and have very little disruption
Interesting, what makes you think Martyr is a bad match-up? I have never lost a martyr match, a few games yes but never a match.
Because Slivers arent fast enough and dont have much disruption, Martyr can pull slivers into late game with champ blocks, life gain, removal, wrathes and prevent damage combo. There it wrathes the board and gains massive card advantage via its engines.
Hello there,
I have been toying around Telekinetic Sliver, since I was not satisfied about how the traditional list was performing recently.
What started as a meme deck, turned out to be superfun and effective (atleast, in the few matches I have tried).
Enter list:
Gameplan is simple: deploy slivers as fast as you can, slam a Telekinetic Sliver or a Quilled Sliver and control the battlefield until you can alpha strike.
However, the deck has a lot of alternative gameplans: go all-in with Virulent Sliver, create a token army with Sliver Hive, or simply flood the battlefield with Lead The Stampede. Incubation // Incongruity is a card that has surprised me on how good it fits into the deck.
Against sorcery based or creature decks, the deck goes nuts. Its weaker against instant-based control decks.
Manabase is still a work in progress, I have to test Bonesplitter Sliver before saying is worth, and I will like to trim Screeching Sliver for mpore powerful options (i still want to slam somewhere a Necrotic Sliver or a pair of Sentinel Sliver).
Nowadays, the deck is a lot of fun, and I think there's a lot of potential here (Telekinetic Sliver is VERY powerful).
I would like to hear your thoughts on the list.
Cheers!
Over the weekend, MaRo was quoted live on twitch stating Modern Horizons was built as a love letter to the time spiral block. How much does this increase our chances of getting new slivers?
Nice, I think that the chances are high, this is the best set to test new things in modern and slivers need some help. Hope to see hibernation or cristaline, we need them to try to become a competitive deck.
What would the deck look like with these two cards?

Let me preface this by saying we wont get those specific cards due to formatting issues. MaRo specifically confirmed a long time ago they wouldnt go back to All slivers get, it would be sliver creatures you control get...
That being said, A new Crystalline at 2 cmc would be enough to take sedge out of the list and change the deck to no longer require swamps and allow us better access to green and coco. Hibernation I see as a 2 of in main possibly replacing the flex striking and sentinel I currently run. Also with Hibernation main I can see running Syphon main to hedge the life loss.
With Crystalline, we might want to consider not running CoCo or mana slivers at all for the unclaimed territory/ancient ziggurat package with a few basics in there for path.
I went to a small tournment with around 16 players with slivers! I wanted to test a version of slivers I was more confortable with so this was my list:
Game 1 - Naya Aggro
1-2
round 1: He casted 3 creatures and removed 2 slivers, I casted sliver after sliver and overwhelmed his removals.
round 2: he mulliganed to 5, and on turn 3 had 5 creatures on the field and beated me before a casted a third sliver.
round 3: can't remember clearly, we had at least 3 creatures on each side of the board, I couldn't find more slivers that granted +1/+1, I was drawing lands, I guess, and he beated me with Wild Nacatls.
round 2: I casted Root Maze turn 1, he struggled to get anything on board but 3 Scales, I attacked, he manages to find Walking Ballista which came with X plus 3 counters, removed my slivers, casted another Ballista, I found 2 Harmonic Sliver and the Slivers beated him.
round 3: He uses Scales and Walking Ballista to remove my board and attacked with a buffed Hangar.
Game 3 - Pili-Pala Combo
0-2
he didn't get to combo neither games, I found 2 Harmonic Slivers, but he end up winning with Wurmcoil Engines and taking control of some of my slivers.
Root Maze was fine to play with even being a bad top deck card, but I thought I would have the opportunity to test it against more decks with fetch lands.
Why play Root Maze? It slows you down two times more than your opp. You spend a card and mana to put it, then it makes your lands come into play tapped. For your opp it only makes lands come into play tapped. Its hard to cast, only 10 sources in your list, 4 of them can already be 'empty'. I can understand playing without Caverns, shocks and fetches for budget reasons, but without 4x Galerider Sliver list becomes not interesting to comment. Also your list with poor manabase will benefit strongly from 4x Adaptive Automaton
At the moment I've got 5c Humans, GB Elves and Merfolk that I enjoy playing. So I've started having a look at slivers as they have always been one of the more interesting tribes in MTG.
I see most decks run Æther Vial and Collected Company. From playing a lot of 5c Humans i find Æther Vial is a seriously lousy card to not have in your opening hand. So I figured I'd try to build a slivers deck without it.
I only play paper and play only with a close nit group of friends. We don't play tournaments, but do spend some change on our decks, so the power level is quite high. Our "meta" isn't super diverse because of that. Here is what our Meta consists of (Yes, we all like tribal :D):
5c Humans
Martyr proc
UW Midrange/Control
Merfolk
Aggro Zombies
G/R Ramp Tooth and Nail
GB Elves
So the deck I've come up with so far is obviously just an aggro deck. I have Collected Company and Domri Rade to help draw cards and add speed as well as offer some removal. I've also got Domri, Anarch of Bolas in the sideboard. He can turn up the heat with his passive and offer some removal as well as help ramp uncounterable creatures.
Apart from beatdown, these cards offer an extended win condition: Bonescythe Sliver & Psionic Sliver. I'm thinking that Psionic Sliver could push me over the finish line in tight games.
The two Homing Sliver are really just tutors to find specific cards when needed, but these really are just part of the flex creatures which could be swapped out.
Manabase: it needs work. it's at best a placeholder, but not far off the mark.
Sideboard: Needs work, just put it together quickly as a rough guide for myself.
So here is a very early and rough draft of the deck.
Having a look at the more stock lists I've decided to give Sedge Sliver a go.
I almost always looked away from that card as it puts even more pressure on the manabase and I felt compelled to run fetchlands (which i don't have).
Anyway, I decided to run one of the more stock lists and alter the manabase slightly.
I had to buy the sedge slivers, so I can't playtest until they arrive, but I think this could be fun to play. So looking forward to giving it a go.
Bant might also be good depending on whether the new slivers could work in that color combination.

1-2
round 1: Karned turn 3.
round 2: he started slow, I casted Sinew Sliver, then a Predatory Sliver and then a Leeching Sliver and beat him before he assembles Tron.
round 3: My hand was 1 Forest, 2 Unclaimed Territory, 1 AEther Hub, 1 Crumble to Dust, 1 Telekinetic Sliver, 1 Diffusion Sliver, He had 2 Urza's Tower, 1 Urza's Power Plant and 1 Urza's Mine and a Oblivion Stone on board on turn 4, but don't have anything to cast with it, I used Crumble to Dust on Urza's Power Plant, I would call for the Tower, but Crumble won't remove the second copy which is already on the field, so I choose another one so then it would be more difficult to find more lands on top of the deck, he responded sacrificing Oblivion Stone removing 3 slivers, after that I thought I should go aggro to finish the game so I played Sinew Sliver and Predatory Sliver and was attacked for 2 turns, he was collecting lands and found All is Dust, slivers to grave, I continue to cast slivers and attack, he found the second Oblivion Stone, more sliver to grave and casted a Wurmcoil Engine, I decided to go the Telekinetic Sliver route so I casted it, he attacked, I found a Diffusion Sliver and casted it, he casted another Wurmcoil Engine and a third Oblivion Stone and attacked with the first, on his turn I cycled Homing Sliver and took a Harmonic Sliver, casted it on my turn targeting the Stone he responded sacrificing the Stone, Wurmcoils and Slivers to grave, Harmonic comes and take a wurm token, he attacks again and I loose.
Root Maze was fine to play with even being a bad top deck card, but I thought I would have the opportunity to test it against more decks with fetch lands.
I'm probably going Fast Slivers from now on, but still would miss Gemhide Sliver / Manaweft Sliver, Diffusion Sliver and Necrotic Sliver.
