Aside from the Abzan lists, I can assure you rally the ancestors is an absolute bomb in this deck. I do agree after playing the deck a little bit that altar's reap is definitely an expendable card, but what to add in its' stead is something I will have to work on! I'm hopefully testing all color combinations this coming week, so I'll be sure to post results! I may even be able to do some videos
something like outpost siege might be playable. one side of the card deals with the card draw, the other synergizes with the blood artist triggers. it might not be on curve though.

I have 8 coming in the mail... You might tell I really like the card. You can bet that I will try it out as a one of. Especially if this format turns out to be jund vs abzan matches all the time. Both modes are relevant for this deck.

That's definitely an interesting idea! It may work pretty well. I've also been thinking of running Dark Confidant seeing as it A)is a creature that can be used to drain if need ve, and B) the life loss is somewhat nullified do to things like blood artist, butcher of the horde, or kitchen Finks (depending on color splashes and card choices)
Not sure about the YP/Artist split, might take out another Bloodsoaked and go 3/3, because you definitely want to draw at least one Bloodsoaked but after the second they're superfluous. Altar's Reap seems good because it's a sac effect, but what happens when you don't have a creature in play and really, really need to dig for answers? Bob is perfect for this deck but if you can't afford him (like me) then Night's Whisper would probably beat out Reap. I'm trying Prophecy because from a limited bit of testing, I can say that being able to dig any time a creature dies is pretty good in this deck. Grafted Wargear turns any creature into a threat, equips for free and provides a death trigger when we take it off a token or Traveller and stick it on something bigger. Swords/Batterskull would be great, I just don't have any (also they are somewhat slower)

i think there is the need to identify what needs to be the shell of the deck.
my numbers (as soon as i will have time i might try a hand at this myself)
8 sacrifiable 1 drops
4 sacrificer 2 drops
4 sacrifiable 2 drops
4/6 of something that can close out the game (blood artist goes in here, so does skirsdag high priest)
4 bombs/reliable creatures and sac outlet at 3 or 4
4/8 removal.
4 lingering souls (the card is too much value to not run 4).
i would go wbg just because of varolz and voice of resurgence. i'm also sure that there's something we could do to stay with just two colors (only piece i'm missing are the sacrificable 2 drops and the bombs to keep it wb).
consider grim haruspex for card draw, instead of dark prophecy.
Grim Haruspex didn't catch my eye, thanks for bringing it up. It's a Human, so it can fuel Falkenrath, and it's a 3/2 for beats and it has a MUCH easier casting cost, but on the other hand it doesn't trigger off of tokens and is easier to remove. I'll have to try it in the Prophecy slot and see how it goes.

I'm thinking Mardu may be the best color combination, almost solely because you have access to mogg war marshal. butcher of the horde is also a giant game ender that can't be bolted to death, something this deck doesn't have too much of. varolz and voice are so tempting as well though

Do you pay echo on the mogg war marshal or is it just there to be more lingering souls that don't fly?

There are times you're going to pay his echo, but usually you are dropping him after either a cartel aristocrat or a blood artist so you can have up to 3 activations for either of them
Definitely going to consider the mogg war marshal for this Wednesday's tournament. Something else I have been meaning to ask is about the blood soaked champions. Do you ever have time to cast him for his raid cost? I seem to always be tight on mana, having to choose between flashing back that lingering souls in my grave yard and playing another two mana play. What I mean is that I generally have all of my mana accounted for on each of my turns. Do you prioritize casting him for raid or you just leave him in the GY until you have absolutely nothing left to do.
Didn't see a Grixis list yet, so I brewed one up really quick. You loose out on the Cartel Aristocrat, but you still have 14 creatures to feed Falkenrath, along with all the disruption you could ever want. Land base is a bit of a guess, but I looks like a solid midrange/tempo list to me.
I think this deck can really get away with running Bob do to our lovely Aristocrat being able to sac him if he has hurt us too much. Serum Visions is there to try to help control the self bleeding as well. While only Bloodsoaked Champion can come back from the grave, you should get enough value off Grim and Snap to make up for that. They are all human, so after a couple sacs our Aristocrat will be a huge flying threat.

it depends on what removal your opponent has really. I'm usually going to try and beat my opponent using the least amount of resources I need to display, because if they happen to blow your board up it sucks. This is a deck where over extended ding isn't the worst, but you still don't want to constantly do that. If they have lightning bolts and such in their deck, I usually just slam a butcher down. If you're playing Falkenrath as your top end, I'd try and draw out the bolts with the champion more often then not!
I was really wanting to try out Brimaz in my three spot in an actual tournament but as I am expecting the meta to shift dramatically towards tarmagoyf I will put the mirran crusaders back in. Thoughts?

If you never get a chance to use his Raid ability, you can always take him out and put in another one-drop like Soldier of the Pantheon. Generally, I wouldn't bother resurrecting him until late game when you've chewed through your Souls and can keep enough open for Bolt/Terminate. That's why I think four is too many.

i mulled over the option of including two qasali pridemage instead of the high priest, for more utility overall. Still have no definitive answer, but the key in running the deck is still, to me, to have too many creatures for my opponent to handle.
Has anyone tried Goblin Rabblemaster yet? The card seems really good in this style of decks. Makes tokens to feed your Falkenrath Aristocrat and if they don't answer Rabblemaster he will end the game quick.
I think that which three drop we choose to run is going to depend on the meta. If it's all thoughtseize + goyf then it must be mirran crusader. Zoo wants us to play kitchen finks. But I think that Brimaz will really shine in this deck against everything else.
Why Go for the throat over Terminate? I think running Go for the Throat is going to get you burned eventually if you ever have to play against tron or affinity.

The main reason is I didn't think of terminate, probably because I don't have any. GFTT is easier to cast. I'm not sure the tron/affinity argument is as much an issue and here's why. Against affinity any removal is fine except GTTF, of which there's just one in the main deck. My other stuff hits them, and I bring in anger and shatterstorm from the side. Against tron the argument is the same, though I probably am more concerned about oblivion stone, so wear/tear and aven mindcensor is how I'm approaching that. There is certainly an argument for stony silence out of the side.

I suppose that makes sense. Although I think pithing needle or Revoker is better against tron then stony silence would be. Can name Eye of Ugin so they can't go find 4 wurmcoil engines to kill you with.

I think they usually use sylvan scrying to find wurmcoils or karn. Aven Mindcensor shuts down eye of ugin mostly. Stony Silence keeps them from using their maps or oblivion stones. Pithing needle is probably a good call against karn, or any plainswalker for that matter. I suppose the question is how good or bad the matchup with tron is already? I've only really just started messing with this deck and am not sure about matchups.
