vs go wide/token decks *company or decks where you need that last few damage sometimes to get through a big guy, like titanshift or ponza? it is card filtering also. its basically like smugglers copter, but gets in for 3-5 dmg instead of 3, and doesnt die instantly like copter. ha.
I really do like Scavenger Grounds it shrinks goyf, stops lingering souls/other flashbacks, is good against storm, and hurts so many other random things.

The MU basically feels like a race except they can go wide and tall at the same time. If this deck picks up then running another Key to the City might be a good idea. Blinkmoth Nexus comes up huge in this match up as we can often get them down to 2-4 life before they have something big enough to block our creatures. Turn one Chalice is big as it shuts off their mana acceleration and Champion of the Parish. Chalice on two is not bad either as it shuts off a huge portion of their deck. Would love some help on this one as well so any suggestions welcome :).
the card itself really isn't worth the card board its printed on...does it serve a purpose? Sure its a blue 1 drop that might not be a 1/1. I would not put it in a list and expect to win a PTQ or GP though.
I just wanted to say I went 3-1 last night at my fnm. I have added eldrazi obligator to the list instead of playing endless one and I am just running 3 dismembers. The obligator actually won both of games against dredge. I ended up beating goblins, dredge and storm but I lost to affinity. They exploded and the deck was just a dud that match. I have been very happy with the additional eldrazi obligator and gives more value to the simian spirit guide.

please dont board out Dismember, at least not 4. Removal is key here.
Speaking of key, why do so many people play that key, its one of the worst cards i have seen lately. i dont see why smugglers copter is not just better in almost every way.
And playing chalice vs a deck that pretty much is only creatures + Cavern of Souls + Aether Vial seems pretty bad to me....

The great Eldrazi Overlords will return to the Modern World.
Long time reader, first time poster. First off thanks for all the advice.
Here's my eldrazi Aggro version with white splash. Ive been having some good success with the deck so far, and the white splash hasnt hurt my manabase. Adding path, with more sideboard options is great. Its by no means better than the original brews, but its fun putting my twist on it. Any advice would be appreciated. Not sure if Thalia would be worth it or sefless spirit. Also, no chalices for budget reasona. Cheers.
IF you play white, you should really try to build with Eldrazi Displacer Main and think about Stonly Silence as well as Rest in Piece in the Sideboard. Those are in my opinion most likey the biggest gains from playing white. If you opt not to play white, Dismember offers very good colorless removal.

RiP, Stony, Displacer all big but Thalia is the 4th major reason to splash W IMO. It's the only color I can honestly see splashing for, and it's for those cards. Dismember covers the same ground as Path. All that said I hold that colorless and Chalice are better. Play Bant if you want white hosers.

I think I would rather have Reshaper and Mimic than Displacer in this build. I dont know what I would take out for it.The main reason I chose white was for path which is better against shadow and wurmcoil. The sideboard was just a quick list of cards I already have. I do like the sounds of Stony and RiP though. I'm going to try Thalia's but I want to keep trying the splash in this deck because I'm not a fan of the Bant version. The battlefield forge's come in handy if you have a dead simian in your hand also.
So far Ive had wins over soul sisters, UW Control, Merfolk, and Tron and lost a close game to 5c Humans.
Eill be doing more testing with better sideboard options soon.
Yeah, I just don't really get why you would splash unless it's to address a specific problem, and I can't think of a problem we have that I would want to splash a color to address. The Shadow matchup is already quite good, for instance. So I'm confused about your motives.

as far as humans, i have not won that match yet i dont think :/ ... that an affinity are the toughest two tier decks imo.
It hasn't hit my local meta all that hard, but my strategy is a topor orb, ratchet bombs, all is dust, and a dash of hope. Im 1/1 but that's pretty much all variance.

I'm thinking of building this deck, but I dont have the budget for Chalices. Is the deck bad without them? I would be substituting main deck ratchet bomb and/or more answers such as warping wail or spatial distortion.

use 4 relic of progenitus like me. I own chalice, but dont use it in this deck. I am very happy without them. I am the only one here. I try both and win more with relic. Try it on x-mage and buy then later if you like chalice
Hi @mtgnorin. What does your deck look like these days?
had a few 5-0s recently, (not posted) but my 5-2 challenge list was posted. on 0 sea gate and 0 cavern at the moment.
lantern control is my most dreaded match now that people are playing whir of invention... 8 virtual bridges, instant speed welding jar even if we manage a ratchet bomb.... its hard hard hard. I miss endbringer or walking ballista in that match for a non combat way to win.
new interesting tech (kinda bad, but fun) Imi statue ... for affinity and lantern. t2 with ssg...

Haha, try Damping Matrix instead. I ran it for awhile. Great against CoCo combos too. No shame in bringing back Endbringer to the side if Bridge is getting you down.

i am not a Eldrazi Strompy player but i am your cousin (Etron player)
i have been looking at this build for a long time since the eye of ugin days and have loved it ever since (I had tron lands and karn etc. already which is why i built e-tron instead)
I am here because I have a few questions
first, i understand why its in this deck but i am having trouble understanding how it serum powder works? when you mull do you get to draw 7 cards again if its in your hand? so a free mull or am i reading it wrong?
i do see the scourge combo with it though
secondly, have any of you considered a 1 of phrexian metamorph? I run 1 in my Etron main deck (3/1 split with ballista and morph) and I have to admit it is very good. It is almost a 5th tks or smasher and can even help in the mirror as well as in other match ups. I just wanted to throw that out there.
Thirdly, what tier would you guys consider this deck?
edit: found answer to third question which i erased and added new question

Copter might be better, but I like that you don't need a creature to draw a card, and that it can represent 2 more damage.

i still feel good about key to the city over smugglers copter... they are so similar though the difference is probably minor.
