Phyrexian metamorph is ok but it doesn’t fit any need of the deck. I would chalk it up in the win more category. I had tested the card a decent amount when I played bang eldrazi.
I’d consider the deck tier 1 potential. But it won’t be tier one cause not enough people play it.
i am not a Eldrazi Strompy player but i am your cousin (Etron player)
i have been looking at this build for a long time since the eye of ugin days and have loved it ever since (I had tron lands and karn etc. already which is why i built e-tron instead)
I am here because I have a few questions
first, i understand why its in this deck but i am having trouble understanding how it serum powder works? when you mull do you get to draw 7 cards again if its in your hand? so a free mull or am i reading it wrong?
i do see the scourge combo with it though
secondly, have any of you considered a 1 of phrexian metamorph? I run 1 in my Etron main deck (3/1 split with ballista and morph) and I have to admit it is very good. It is almost a 5th tks or smasher and can even help in the mirror as well as in other match ups. I just wanted to throw that out there.
Thirdly, what tier would you guys consider this deck?
edit: found answer to third question which i erased and added new question
There's literally an entire article about mulligans with this deck on the very page you posted this question if you scroll up. Most legal cards have been considered including Metamorph. This deck is Tier 4.
the card itself really isn't worth the card board its printed on...does it serve a purpose? Sure its a blue 1 drop that might not be a 1/1. I would not put it in a list and expect to win a PTQ or GP though.
so i just play tested a few games on line with ghost fire blade and its definitely a threat and does some good work. I was running mtgnorins list without main deck chalice of the void and relics instead and 1 less endless one and one less land (22 lands, 2 endless ones, 1 ghostfire) it was pretty decent actually you guys should try.
i wanted to add that attaching it to a mutavault is pretty sweet and i was able to put in some good damage by turn three and four
It seems like most of your questions about this deck are ignorant of the existing literature on it. I suggest you take a look at the Primer and check out the articles linked there so that you don't ask basic questions that have already been answered.

Damm well i didnt know tier meant popularity.. all this time i thought it meant powerlevel
Okay so on pure power level where would you rank it? Tier 1 potential?
And oh okay you talked about it in your article. I read your other article not that one.
Thanks you
Our tiering system is based on popularity because it's both impossible and useless to accurately rate decks on something as vague and subjective as "power level."

also, just tested ghostfire blade for the first time 2x, in place of copter/key to the city, and endless one... pretty good and fast... swinging for 5 turn 2 often.
I'm torn between an endbringer or an endless one main deck. I've been playing the endless one and fear that I won't reliably get to 6 mana when I'm using my lands to attack, block or for their utility which usually involves losing them. Any thoughts on this?
How often are people attacking with lands or ghost quartering lands? I tend to try and push damage with them quickly, are they more of a backup plan to most people?

Well two answers: endless one is MB. We are generally the aggressor g1. Endless one fits the curve wherever we want. I haven’t played endbringer at all in a while but it’s not wrong per say.
I only attack or block with man lands if I can spare it dying or if I know the coast is clear. Smart but aggressive. Sometimes man lands eat a lili activation.
Why do you think it is correct to play 3 Gemstone Caverns, Jordan? I have played about 15 leagues and have had many feel bad moments where I already have it and drew another when I needed a land.
Is the mono white death and taxes/hate bears deck a good or bad match-up? Any of you have any pointers for the match-up? Their land destruction and first strikers seem really rough.
cool cool. ive been conteplating basically what you've done with the mana base... although i dont like the no chalice plan...
but yeah, tec edge being so strong vs control and valakut .. ive been on 4 gq 2 tec edge for a bit, but could go up. I would try a scavenger grounds or two over a wastes, and maybe 4th tec edge.
how is witchbane orb? ... bring in vs valakut/ strom/burn?

With mainboard Relics he really doesn't need SG. But agree that Chalice > Tectonic. It just gives us way too many free wins in G1 as well as plugging defensive holes for Mimic/Endless/Copter. He still needs Blinks over Vaults (at least two) so as not to auto-lose to fliers though. Something like Pest or Clique will destroy this build. Storm is very good with Chalice but probably worse without. I've found Orb to kind of suck vs Valakut still because they can wipe your board which is an awesome floor either way.

Right now I'm considering cutting the one spatial for another all is dust, but I feel like this is the list I'm bringing to GP Toronto in a couple weeks, which will actually be my first GP.
I played on tournaments maybe 9 time (don't know it exactly) in the last year vs. valakut and lost maybe 6 time, so it is only a win rate of 33%. Then I play tested with tectonic edge and it was a little bit better, but not enough...then side with surgical and again better, now I try witch witchbane to make it favorable. by the way, I don't use spyglass anymore vs. valakut. No time to put it in and sometimes it useless. Sometimes I face bring to lightshift and all this matches (maybe 5 time) I win and lost only 1 of them. Seems bring to light without titan is much easier for me. the biggest problem I have in my area is knightfall, new lantern (unwinable) and affinity. Humans are difficult too, but after 4 spatial in side its ok like affinity. But loosing game 1 vs. affinity and humans means you need 2 wins after boarding and this is possible but very hard. All Blue decks, storm and burn are very easy, Jund is good too and death shadow is maybe 55% favorable but it depends very on the skills of my opponent. Big tron is easy too and eldrazi tron favorable.
I have found Eldrazi Tron to be quite difficult even with hate. And IME the Valakut matchup doesn't depend on hate at all; it's all about Temple into Thought-Knot Seer.

Hey guys, wrote a 4000-word article on tips & tricks while playing the deck. Combined with the sideboarding and mulligan guides, that should be enough to get anyone started! Enjoy.

I have been having a lot of success with 2x tectonic edge. Vs control and big mana. Ie eot blow up 4th land so they can’t cast cryptic on your turn.

I side in warping wails and then prioritize chalice on turn one followed by the other broken stuff we do.

If they concede you know chalice is good. I maybe bring in a relic and a ratchet bomb and cut a couple ssg or something and wait to see what’s up.
+3 Warping Wail
+3 Ratchet Bomb
+2 Spyglass
-1 Endless One
-1 Matter Reshaper
-2 Powder

-1 Smasher
-1 Mimic
What are peoples thoughts on this? I've been going about 45/55 against affinity locally, but that's only two players, maybe 10 games between them.
