I'm a die-hard "old-school" Geist player that loves the beatdown style Geist more than tempo/control. Is there a way to still play a more aggressive Geist of Saint Traft list right now or am I forced onto "Cryptic/Queller.dec?"
What is everyone else's experience? With all the vial decks and human decks. Also getting 2 Hollow onw against you by t2 and having a spell snare seems... pretty crappy lol
I was greatly intrigued by this list and can never pass up the opportunity to play Geist of Saint Traft in a proven build!
I recorded with the deck for my One & Done series where I do a deck tech and single match. I'm heavily considering doing a full league with it sometime in the future as it was a blast to play. I never thought of Figure of Destiny as a tempo card, but the ability to hold up interaction or level it up gives it a lot of flexibility and you never really get blown out if you time your level ups right. I am still planning the Sideboard, though some cards are safe:
-2 Rest in Peace
-2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
-2 Stony Silence
-some Spell Queller
-some Spreading Seas
-1 Sphinx's Revelation
What can I add? I thought about Rest in Peace, but I don’t know if is really necessary. I mean, I can fight phoenix with Purge and Path and Dredge with same spell and Blade Splicer.
Any suggestions?
It seems a more aggro approach, cutting Cryptics. And the interaction between Queller and Teferi seems great. Not a tier 1 deck, but it seems a lot of fun.
So far I've had pretty good results in MTGO 2-Player Queue and I will continue to test.
Your deck looks like it plays enough at instant speed that Sword of Feast and Famine looks viable--do you think it's better or worse than SoFaI in this deck?
