Has anyone tested Gideon's Intervention for their boards? Looks like it would be helpful in multiple combo matchups where, especially if you can ramp up to it. I'll test it out this week if possible.
Dusk to dawn is very interesting in the board there. I might consider picking up some copies. Seems good vs Eldrazi decks and DS decks, not to mention tribal decks. Seems too slow and not good enough vs affinity or all in zoo.
Speaking of spirit, seems like none of you ever run spirit huh? Just too janky?

I like spirit, it's just that I like Teeg + Dromoka's command more. Anger of the Gods is played a lot more than wrath effects are.
I am taking my trusty tribal zoo to a 40 player pptq tomorrow. This is my first event that is larger than fnm. My goal is to top 8 and my expectation is to have a better sideboard after the event is said and done. Here is the deck I am taking:
Update: I went 3-3 and had a great time. The maindeck feels great. In fact, I think I might be making my deck worse when I sideboard. My new plan is to work on a hatebears sideboard. The idea is to minimize diluting my threat and burn suite by swapping qasalis and snappies for hatebears post board.
I've been on the Revolt Zoo plan for quite some time now but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger playing it tomorrow at a larger tournament. I might try the Naya Company Build but I'm still not sure yet. Revolt can just bring about turn 3 wins but can also fizzle fast. I'm expecting a lot of Death's Shadow and Affinity.
Guys please opinions on japanese cards. Lost a 3/3 creature against Japan celestial colonade. This guy played all creatures and spells in english cards, but some cards in his manabase was japanese. I dont registrated this really ( my brain say its all fine and all english to me lets attack his empty board)...and i am sure it is a Kind of legal cheating. It is not ok, but i know legal. I Hate such people. I never forget colonade normally, but with this Tricks it can happen one time in 3 years and such people take advantage of this
If I am a customer spending premium amount of dollars, I expect a premium service. Jund falls into the category of a premium deck costing more dollars than a majority of the rest of the format. I'm not getting the desired performance ratio per dollars spent out of the Jund deck because WOTC decided to make the format more diverse.
What's the plan for Titan shift with this deck? I'm noticing an uptick in play in that deck.
I'm thinking about bringing in things like blood moon, thalia, Gaddock Teeg, from the board- but is the better plan to try and kill them as fast as well can? So leave in bolts, rallier's, nacatl, (seal of fire?) and just try to get there as fast as we can? Do you guys cut path post board too? Just curious how you guys have handled the matchup, because i always get killed with knightfall when I've played it too
We replaced Experiment One with Dryad Militant since the largest that E1 can get is 3/3 in this deck besides hardcasting Ghor-Clan Rampager. He also won't let me make the deck without Domri Rade since he's 10 and loves all Planeswalkers. I'm just glad he figured out that the Samut, the Tested he opened isn't for Modern...
Which is, in fact, good! That means that every time you have him in the opening hand he will be attacking as a (potentially regenerating) Nacatl on T2 (if you're not playing at least one 2/2 and at least one 2/3 on T2 with Bushwhacker Zoo, you're doing it wrong :P). E1 is vastly superior to Dryad in this shell.
Also, 4th Bushehwacker is a must, and Boros Charms are slightly awkward (you really want to spend your mana on putting pressure on the board).
The only suggestion I have is -1 Boros Charm, +1 Bushwhacker. I'd also say having a set of Hidden Herbalists over the Charms/Domri is probably superior if removing the planeswalker ever becomes negotiable. I liked having Rancor over GCR, but if you're keeping Domri in, it's probably right to keep GCR as it is a potential target.
Glad to see an evolution of my Zooicidal Domain doing well! Gonna try it out again soon if it's doing alright in this meta. Kind of surprised no one had any input on this yet. There was another one similar in the protour or a gp or something that used Renegade Rallier to get back dudes.
So my son went 1-4 both PPTQs (got a bye each time) but it was more to technical plays and general inexperience than a glaring deck issue. He likes to cast instants during his turn, creatures without haste main phase 1 and other new play mistakes. He really likes the deck however
Need all of your opinions- I'm doing some IQ and other tournaments soon. I love playing naya rallier company and also play knightfall style counters company and even humans sometimes.
What deck do you guys think is best vs an open format? As a point of departure control and eldrazi are big around me.
All those flavors of company decks are sometimes great, sometimes awful. I'll admit I enjoy playing naya the most right now, but it feels too fair compared to counters sometimes vs decks like scapeshift, tron, even dredge.
Would love to hear any advice, and if you need deck lists I'll post later I'm just walking into work!
You should definitely take some form of counters company if you're looking to win/place well. The overall meta right now is rather hostile towards fair decks.

Round 1: UW Control
Board strat: -4 path, -2 Scooze + 3 Dromoka's, + 1 Alliance, + 2 Teeg
He gets me in game 1 by spreading sea's all over my red sources, making my 1/1 Nacatl's pitiful. At one point I GQ my own land in response to his spreading seas to make my goyf bigger, but not hitting land drops after that hurt. Probably too aggressive of me. Game 2 I beat him down and he plays removals until I get him to a point where he's spent all his paths and I play a Gaddock Teeg for the win.
Round 2: Amulet Titan
Board strat: + 3 Blood Moon, + 3 Dromoka's Command, + 1 Blessed Alliance | - 3 CoCo, - 4 Smiters I think...
He never draws a 4th land in game one so I kill him fast with path backup. Game 2 I get a turn 2 Blood Moon with my basic forest in play to help me lockup the game.
Round 3: Affinity
Board strat: - 3 CoCo, - 1 Tracker, - 4nSmiters, + Koz Return, +3 DC, + Helix/All, + Grudge/Stony,
I lose game 1 quickly to a turn 3 champion, turn 4 cranial turn 5 cranial. GG. G2 I keep a busted hand with Nacalt into Noble into Domri into ancient grudge into path into bolt. Was good. Game 3 I keep a hand with bolt + koz return, he sets up a big attack on his side with only the card he drew for the turn in hand, I go to bolt his Ravager and Koz Return his board but he has the spell pierce for my KR. Oh well.
Round 4: Grixis Shadow
Board strat: -4 Bolt, -1 Nacatl, + 3 DC, + Blessed Alliance, + Sigarda
Game 1 he doesn't draw a lot of removal so I kill him with some fat beats. Game 2 he doesn't have removal for my sick 11/11 Knight. At one point he goes to play Anger of the Gods to kill my 2x Noble and Voice and I dromoka's command in response to prevent damage and make my Knight kill his Smiter.
Round 5: Abzan Midrange
Board strat: -4 Bolt, -1 Nacatl, + 3 DC, + Blessed Alliance, + Sigarda
Game 1 I do my thing and kill him, he played a turn 3 Liliana and ticked up, and I discarded a Smiter. GG. Game 2 I keep a super slow hand and he has a fast start and kills me quickly. Game 3 I just have too much insane value for him and he doesn't draw his Damnation.
Round 6: ID
Top 8: Grixis Delver
Board strat: - 4 Bolt, - Nacatl, + 3 DC, + Koz Return, + Blessed Alliance
Game 1 is bad for him. He turn 3 Kolaghan's Command to kill my voice and make me discard. I had the smiter. GG. Game 2 he catches me with my greedy fetching and plays a blood moon while I have only basic plains + shocks. Didn't see that one coming. G3 I get there with Domri Rade just helping me draw so many cards.
Top 4: Abzan Midrange
Board strat: -4 Bolt, -1 Nacatl, + 3 DC, + Blessed Alliance, + Sigarda
Game 1 is bad for him, and it's almost a repeat of my swiss round opponent. I get a Scooze active and it takes over the game. Game 2 I feel bad for him, I really did. I had turn 1 Noble into turn 2 Knight into turn 3 Coco into turn 4 Sigarda. He was not prepared.
Finals: GB Tron
Board Strat: -4 Bolt, -1 Scooze, - Tracker + 3 Blood Moon, + Stony Silence, + 2 Teeg
On the play my opening 7 is super slow with 3x lands, goyf, 2x smiter, knight. Won't get there. I mull to Bolt, Nacatl, Ghost Quater, Foothills, Kessig, Stomping Ground. I keep hoping I can hit some gas knowing that game 1 is tough for me. I play Nacatl, then Noble + Bolt then KWR, then Knight + GQ to finish him off. Game 2 I keep a good hand with 3 lands, Blood Moon, goyf, and some beats. I get a moon to resolve and teeg but he has the OStone. He durdles around a little and I path his Wurmcoil. I eventually company into some beats and he extends the hand as it put too much pressure on him.
Man, that felt good. Love the deck and where it's at right now. The best card in the board has to be Dromoka's Command. I think I boarded it in most of the matchups today.
Wow awesome Zulander, congrats! Dromoka's is a card I always want to run, but then always convince myself not to. Can you elaborate on how it played a little more in real life? I'd love to hear what you have to say. Any other MVPs/weak cards? Thanks again for the report.
A lot of decks I love had big days today, knightfall won Sao Paulo, Knightfall humans and counters company top8ed Birmingham and then Naya company gets 2nd at the SCG richmond Modern classic!!!! yay! It's a Rallier version: http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=115530
Super sweet. Notable is that there are no bolts, but the rest is pretty stock. Awesome!
