I think Spell Queller is a great card, but I probably would sideboard it for decks light on removal or mainboard it in a combo/infect/affinity heavy meta. I don't think it's something I'd want in a Midrange/Burn/Death's Shadow heavy meta.
I've been tinkering with Ayli recently and have soured on her. Will cut her, but currently debating Cast Out vs. Detention Sphere, since the instant speed and cycle of Cast Out is great, but Detention Sphere getting multiples is also great. Might tinkering with both.
Hi guys!
Last weekend played 2 PPTQs.
First one on Saturday started pretty wird - lost 1 Proc from deck and got a lot of warnings bcs didn't play deck in real and have problems with correct sideboarding.
After first day training, feeled much moer comfortable and ended 2nd PPTQ 7-2.
Lost one to Storm in swiss and to my self in finals: was playing against Trbal Zoo (bye match up, heh) but got second warning for having sb cards in maiindeck and match loss, easily won second and in third mulled to 5 for first time in 2 days and got weirdo hand while opponent casted 3 Tribal flames and some other burn.
For now I'm testing 5 color version and without Prisons, trying to improve combo and landbased matchups:
Spell queller feels much better against combo decks and good tempo card but against aggo decks Prison is still the best. But Queller in more mutches isn't a dead card.
Karametra is Insane. Ramp yourself for EMeria, Clear the deck and have unkillable 6\7 creatre is awesome. (You can control Devotion with Martyrs)
Kambal is good against Storm decks and only wishboard card against Burn.
Burning-Tree Shaman is good answer for CoCoCo decks. He hates them really much.
Slaughter games is historically best answer for all combo decks and helps against Titanshift decks slowing them down for our comfortable lategame.
Thrun and Sphinx are metagame cardchoices against UW controls, you can change them for anything you like.
Deck in current state creates insane CA engine and have answers for most strategies. The only problem for this deck are only Classic tron decks and Combo decks that are faster than us.
I had a rough go with logistics last night, too. Scooped a game where they surgical'd Wrath game 2 and I didn't shuffle it in back in game 3. We didn't realize it until I let him cast V-Clique twice and target me despite landing the turn 0 Leyline. I need to get my head right before I do the last couple PPTQs, because I have been scrubbing to get back in the rhythm of the deck. I'll get there, though.
I agree that D-sphere isn't the best option, but it's nice to know that I can and cast it and not die. The flash on Cast Out is relevant, but the difference between 3-4 mana is huge. I cannot think of a time where I've missed hitting 3 on time, but I've definitely spent games waiting a few turns to hit that 4th mana. If I'm running well, I won't be using it to wipe a creature and if I do, it'd be tokens when I know they can't answer it. 4 mana to kill a bunch of big, cheap beaters is what I have Wraths and Verdicts for.
I haven't played Living End since it started using the new creatures, but that match up always seemed like a walk for me.
@Lear_The_Cat That looks extremely spicy. Glad to hear you did well with it despite shaking off some rust.
@BoboCTiberius I agree about the 3 / 4 mana difference. Being able to cycle it does make it worth looking at, but you pretty much always have a target for oring like effects so I wouldn't really want to cycle them except in a few edge case matches.
I've been messing around in the tournament practice queue for fun and won against Vengevine/Hollow One Dredge, Jund Death's Shadow, and BW Midrange (Packrate, Confidant, Souls, and removal/discard) Didn't drop any matches. I was playing og white proc.

I think that's especially true in MonoW, where you don't have the Orzhov Charms for removal and want the option of recurring through Sun Titan.
What is the current mono white list. Recently back into proc after a year break, have been playing the deck for 3 years total prior to that.... current list taking to richmond open this weekend http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/28-07-17-martyr-proc/
Welcome back!
There's no clear list for most color versions but I can give some advices about your list:
No Flagstones - it's like playing without Fetches. And without them GQ aren't great.
I would better add 2-3 Thraben Inspector - they're great CA engine.
4x O-ring cards isn't great. I don't like them bcs very vulnarable but we have now more optionable Cast Out - try 1-2 of them.
In monoW better play 4 Ghosty prison.
Burrenton Forge-Tenders aren't great. They didn't improve any our bad matchups and eat slots.
Better add 3rd Celestial purge. Maybe 4th, depends on your meta. One of the best SB cards for monoW.
MonoW never likes gravehate (Grafdigger's Cage) and very sensitive to it. Better try any 1-sided gravehate like Relic of progenitus, Wheel of sun and Moon and etc.
Why no surgical extractions? One of the best gravehate\cranial effect card for monoW.

No flagstones because im cutting it slightly low on lands so i dont want to thin too much.
Cant really find room for thraben
I do agree about ghostly prison
Forge tender is for grixis and burn (sometimes burn can be a little worrisome with all the skullcrack effects now.
If i wasnt running so many o ring effects i would consider boarding more.... but i still may before the weekend.
And i know grafdiggers hurts me as well but i think i still prefer it over relic vs dredge and shadow.
You can easily play 4 Flagstones with 23 lands. Having active Emeria more earlier is more relevant than small chance to get screwed with Flagstones.
Surgicals can close match with Grixis pretty fast and can be very usefull in other match ups while Forge Tenders improving already good match ups. Isn't worth it.
Grafdigger's cage doesn't solve problem with dredge if theyhave answer for it while surgical or other exile like cards solve problem in it's core. With other gravehate cards you don't loose card or they're much more effective.
Totally forgot. I would also play Leyline of sanctity - one of the main sb cards for monoW martyr. Better play 4 of.
They solve discard problem to which monoW is vulnarable also fix Burn matchup. Help against Scapeshift decks and etc. Sometimes t0 Leyline against Shadow deck is autowin bcs opp can't do anything with tonns of discard in hand
I am looking to build a version of this deck. I am just not sure at the moment which one I should build. The mono white version seems like the cheapest, while the mardu one seems the most fun.
Scg got my list wrong. It should be a banishing light not a banisher priest..... deck felt good i was in contention all day on day 2 but i had some bad mulls and variance but it happens....

I think i need to drop kami, i never wanted it, even against creature decks i didnt want it i think it may ve gideon jura going forward.... i may want blessed alliance, fracturing gust and dawn charm in the board. Nevermore was great and forge tenders were great. I actually used my entire board this weekend which felt good. Im still on the fence about leyline im just not a fan of cards you need in your opener. If anyone is interested ill post how i sided vs each match.
Hey,
Just first off wanted to congratulate you on your results this weekend. I would love to see how you sided out, especially against storm. Did you ever feel like 3 celestial purge was too many?
I removed 4 prison, 4 wrath and kami. Brought in 2 nevermore, 2 relic, 3 purge, 2 forge tender... and i absolutely thibk 3 purge was too many this weekend.... the match up is pretty awful, i usually just accept it as a loss
Was it just a turn 3/4 loss each game?
I like blessed alliance a lot as each ability is pretty relevant. But would putting canonist or eidolon of rhetoric help the matchup? It's a shame you arent a big fan of leyline as it helps a lot against a lot of decks.
