Hey guys:) I know this deck well from the Standard days and as I own many of the pieces I think about picking it up as my main "combo deck". I've been reading this thread for a while and it helped me figuring the deck out.
At my last tournament I've seen some players running the deck and the match vs UW Control was extremely close and interesting to watch. Can you guys tell me from experience if this matchup against UW is usually favorable or what makes the match up better in your opinion? They have many cards that interact with lands in Spreading Seas, Tec Edge and Ghost Quarters plus Counters. On the paper it doesn't seem favorable, can you tell me from different experiences? Thanks in advance:)

There was a ton of discussion a couple of pages ago about how to play lines and sideboard tech against UW. Basically, it's favored because their clock is horrendously slow and even if they can counter our game winning spells, our land base will kill them. Also, if they ever let a summoners pact resolve to screw you on mana the next turn, search up a Thrun. They can't kill it post board since they side out wraths and blessed alliance.
Taking TitanShift to a PPTQ tomorrow! Wish me luck
Good luck!
Played in a 13 person FNM.
Round 1 vs. Skred Red. This is the guy I came with. In fairness, it was a small tournament and we ended up carpooling with 2 other guys too. In the first game, he does turn 3 Blood Moon, which isn't bad because I have Prismatic Omen. I double Bolt a Chandra, Torch of Defiance, but he smokes me with a Hazoret, the Fervent. I heard that card was good. I have 2 useless Scapeshift in hand. In the next game, he keeps a 1 lander. He misses his 2nd land drop on turn 2. On turn 3, he gets his 2nd land drop into Mind Stone, which I immediately Nature's Claim, which I was trying to save for Blood Moon. He scoops a turn later. The last game is pretty rough for him. He plays a turn 3 Goblin Rabblemaster, which I Bolt before he goes to combat. He does turn 5 Stormbreath Dragon, which I immediately Beast Within. He draws and plays nothing but lands until I Titan and win. He knows I'm not going to make a huge mistake here. He's played Titanshift tons of times and I have as well. He's actually the one who I talk about who used to SKYPE with Thien Nyugen - the Scapeshift "dude." 2-1.
Round 2 vs. GW Hatebear/Coco. In the first game, he gets turn 2 Mirran Crusader and then 2 more Noble Hierarch. He hits me hard, but I Bolt it later. I basically have a tough time finding my lands because Aven Mindcensor, but slowly get them. The problem is my initial win-con is Scapeshift, so I need to find another Bolt or Sweltering Suns. I don't. I draw another Scapeshift. Bruhhh. In the next game, I ramp super quickly, dodge most of the hate, and get Prime Time to wreck him. In the final game, I mulligan to 4 cards. Yes, 4 cards. I haven't done that in a while. I nearly get there, my ramp barely getting past an Aven Mindcensor. In the end, he played an Elspeth, Knight Errant to speed up the clock. He had a turn 1 Burrenton Forge-Tender. So now I need my Prime Time to find 2 targets to kill the Elspeth and then probably win a turn or 2 later. I only get 1 land, which can't kill the Elspeth and it's lethal. He also shows me that he had Leonin Arbiter to exile to Shining Shoal. 1-2.
Round 3 vs. GB Tron. This was another friend that I hadn't seen in a while. He has a recently foiled out GB Tron. He knows how to play it well. In the first game, I ramp really hard and he bricks on Tron long enough for me to be able to win through anything he played 1 turn except Ulamog. He plays Ugin and I beat him the following turn with Scapeshift. The next game is similar, although he had trouble finding the 3rd Tron piece. By the time he did, I did Beast Within on his upkeep to destroy it and mess up his Tron. This was after a turn 3 Reclamation Sage that I had in my opener on his Expedition Map. He is stuck with double of 2 Tron pieces while I ramp up to sramp + Scapeshift to end it. 2-0.
Round 4 vs. 4 Color Shadow. Basically DSJ with Stubborn Denial. He makes me discard my hand until I have 4 land in play with land/Scapeshift in hand. Then he drops a 2nd Goyf and double Death's Shadow. I scoop immediately since there is no out to that. The next game is similar, but I draw Summoner's Pact and drop a Chameleon Colossus. This stops his small Death's Shadows from attacking. I draw some ramp and am getting closer to Valakut triggers, but he eventually pushes 1 of the 2 now 5/5 Shadows past my Colossus and Traverses for a Tarmogoyf after blowing up a land with his Fulminator Mage. I end up drawing...my 2nd Chameleon Colossus. I hold back the Colossus. I wait until I can attack with both and he can only block 1 with his Goyf. I pump the other for lethal since he's at 8. The 3rd game is crazy. He destroys my hand completely, only allowing a turn 1 Search for Tomorrow. I have a Relic of Progenitus, which I almost want to keep, but I'm curious what I'll draw. I draw consecutive Chameleon Colossus this game and his Goyfs are no match. 2-1.

What are your guys' thoughts on Prismatic Omen? I like the card, it makes math weird but seems to advance your math to wins I guess. That's how it appears to me at this point.
Also, thoughts on Chandra, Torch of Defiance in the deck? Most top 8 lists I've seen are running it but I've had some bad experiences ripping Scapeshifts with her +1 when I wasn't ready and it cost me the game...

Omen I've found to put in a lot of work particularly against control decks that will counter a lot of your threats. Turning your 6th land regardless of type into bolt is amazing.
Chandra I've been much less impressed by. She makes a reasonable damage sponge and counter bait but beyond that is very meh.

EDH BRGKresh the BloodbraidedBRG, A box of lands and ideas.
Modern: RG Titanshift. A deck made of cards too stupid for EDH.
Retired: Lots. More than I feel you should suffer through or I should type out.
Well, lost in semis of a 33 players PPTQ. When i get home will do a small report. Cant bealive it, lost twice simifinals, a final and twice in T8 this season =/
Well, i played this (been playing with the same list the 5 PPTQ i've played):
Creatures
4 Primeval Titan
4 Sakura Tribe-Elder
1 Wood Elves
Spells
4 Scapeshift
4 Lightning bolt
4 Search for Tomorrow
3 Far Seek
2 Anger of the gods
2 Relic of Progenitus
2 Summoner's pact
2 Prismatic Omen
1 Explore
SIDEBOARD
3 Obstinate Baloth
2 Ancient Grudge
2 Chameleon Colossus
1 Anger of the gods
1 Graffdigers Cage
1 Reclamation Sage
1 Nature's Claim
2 Engineered Explosives
1 Relic of Progenitus
1 Tireless Tracker
Round 1: Lantern Control Won 2-1
G1: He plays turn 0 a Linelane, turn 3 Bridge and my main cant beat that.
G2: He plays Turn 0 Linelane and a few turns later the bridge but i Natures natures the laneline and burned him.
G3: He plays Turn 0 Linelane and a few turns later the bridge but i destroyed the Linelane and burned him again (:
R2: Mono red Lost 0-2.
G1: I was on the draw and he beated me the turn before i could combo him out
G2: Kept a spicy hand (2 mountains, a valakut, bolt, anger, sakura and the wood elves). Long story short, never drew a green source:/.
R3: UW Control Won 2-0.
G1: He negates son ramp, but i could play prismatic omen. When i casted a titan and did 12 points of damage just by landing 2 Valakut, he scooped.
G2: I dont remember much, but when he tapled out i won (played 2 Scapeshift on the same turn and he only got 2 mana to countwr the first one)
R4: Jund Death Shadow won 2-1.
G1: He got an early discard but it wanst enough, get to 6 lands and Shift him to death.
G2: He got me with Fulminator Mage and remove all the valakuts from the game. Played a Titan, next turn played a 2nd titan and attacked with one, it wasnt lethal. On his turn he Pulses both and short after i lost that game.
G3: He played a a Thoughtseize and saw that u have a Baloth. I drew a few lands and ramp, so 2 turna later he played other Thoughtseize so i won 4 life and a 4/4 for free. Played titan and that was it.
R5: Bant Eldrazi won 2-0
G1: Played an Omen on t2. He pkayed TKS and saw a hand that got 2 bolts, 2 prime and anger so he took a prime. Killed the TKS and prayed that he didnt played a second one. He plays Smasher, so a draw and play Titan killing his smaher and doing 6 to the dome. He draws and we went to g2.
G2 was very similar to G1, but he played a Counter to my titan bdut i got him a few turns later. Thats a good mu (:
Finished 3th, so u was on the play.
T8 Affinity won 2-1.
G1: Kept a good hand but without removal. Needed to draw a ramp spell (my hand was 2 prime time and a summoners pact) or a land (was on 5 lands), drew the 2nd pact. Searched for Wood Elves but the turn i lost paying the paxt was lethal.
G2 i kept lands, ramp and 1 bolt and 1 Grudge while he mulligansd to 5 cards. He scooped when i olayed the 2nd titan.
G3: It was weird, got a good hand but he kept a not so good one. He gave enough time to land a titan with 5 Mountains, 2 Valakuts and a STE to shoot 2 creatures so when i untapped on my turn i basht him to death (:.
T4: Lanter lost 0-2
G1: He played turn 0 Linelane and got t3 bridge so it was a quick gane.
G2: He locked me pretty quickly and that was it. At least i lost to my team mate and he took it down.
I really like how the list is right now, played 5 PPTQ and make itnto the top 8 at least so that is good i think. Im thinking to play the same list next weekend at Grand Prix San Pablo (:
Round 1 vs. Death and Taxes. This is a former GP winner with Merfolk. I've seen him grind local events with Merfolk. I've played him 3 times, each with Bogles and was 2-1 vs. him. I get mentally ready for Merfolk when I see the pairings. He plays Plains and Aether Vial. I figure it out. In the first game, he had a lot of land hate, kept my lands down with Ghost Quarters and Tectonic Edges, and swung me with a Thalia and Leonin Arbiter until I died. I was kind of hoping for Sweltering Suns, but oh well, lost with 2 Scapeshift in hand and 5 land. In the next game, I made a bad punt. I Bolt some creature and Sweltering Suns a Thalia and Arbiter. But he gets some more pressure. I get to a turn after casting Prime Time that I pay 2 mana to search my library this turn. I then play a Sakura-Tribe Elder from hand and Summoner's Pact for another one. The problem? I had used all of them. I only had 2 mana, so I can't cast Wood Elves. If I had cast Wood Elves first, I could have gotten my 4th Cinder Glade and then cast my Sakura Tribe-Elder. Because of this, I can't Valakut trigger enough creatures to survive and presumably win next turn. He didn't say that he had anything in hand, so I would have forced a 3rd game. This was the first time in any format that I've had 4 Sakura Tribe-Elder in my graveyard. I just wasn't used to it. I'm more used to not seeing the card in a whole 3 game match. Terrible way to begin a tournament. Now I'm 2-2 vs. him. 0-2.
Round 2 vs. Slivers. His hand is slow. I Bolt a turn 2 Manaweft Sliver. I ramp up and ramp/Scapeshift to do lethal damage with him at 18. This was right before he was going to kill me since he got some velocity with double Collected Company. In the next game, he just has too many creatures and Diffusion Sliver makes it tough for my Bolt. On the final turn, I basically can only kill 2 Flying Slivers or a Diffusion Sliver to survive. I scoop. In the final game, I keep a hand of Sweltering Suns X 2, Anger of the Gods, Lightning Bolt, Valakut X 2, Mountain. You can guess what happened. I draw a Green source and then ramp finally. Meanwhile, he doesn't play around any of these and gets wiped and wiped until I cycle a Suns to find Prismatic Omen to do more than enough next turn. 2-1.
Round 3 vs. Junk Midrange. He mulls to 5, but kills me with double Tarmogoyf and 4 Souls tokens. I can't find Sweltering Suns, which would have gotten all of them since only Sorcery and land were in the graveyards. In the next game, he discards me again, but I eventually get ramp + Scapeshift on the final turn. In the final game, I stabilize, using Valakut triggers to wipe his board, but he kills my Titan with Path to Exile. I end up cracking a Relic of Progenitus to find Obstinate Baloth, then draw a Kitchen Finks on an empty board. My last card in hand is a fetch and I play that too. He draws a card, then scoops. 2-1.
Round 4 vs. Death and Taxes. He gets a Mirran Crusader after just wrecking my lands. I messed up by playing into Path to Exile with a Sakura Tribe-Elder after he already had Leonin Arbiter. I had hoped to sac it later and a Path would be better used on it than Prime Time. I never got to Prime Time. I got killed by a Mirran Crusader and a Thalia, Guardian of Thraben. I literally needed 1 Sweltering Suns to probably win this game. A Lightning Bolt killed another Arbiter, but it was not enough. In the next game, I ramp hard to Prime Time after Bolting an Arbiter right away. He gets there pretty easily. The next game is a long drawn out game. I got a Lightning Bolt and an Anger of the Gods and he didn't have much pressure. But I got to a point where I already had 7 lands with Valakut already Tec Edged, but drew 6 land and Search for Tomorrow in 7 draws. Mirran Crusader finished me off and some other creatures while I was drawing those lands also helped. I'm pretty sure a Valakut or another Sweltering Suns would probably have done it. Nope! He had Resto Angel and Flickerwisp in hand. Or so he said. 1-2.
Round 5 vs. Jeskai Dragons, I think. He does Silumgar's Scorn on my Sakura Tribe-Elder. I do another next turn after a land drop. He eventually taps out for a 4/4 Dragon, while the whole time I thought he was Resto Angel/Kiki. He had Cryptic Commanded a Scapeshift, but after he taps out, I Summoner's Pact AGAIN and Scapeshift for lethal. In the next game, it is similar. He has some countermagic, but I have 3 threats. 2-0.
Round 6 vs. Burn. He mulled to 6. He ends up on 5 land with double Sacred Foundry in hand with me at 6. I ramp to Prime Time and draw Prismatic Omen to cast precombat for Prime Time lethal swings. There's not much to say about the final game. I literally played SUPER HARD around Deflecting Palm and just kept getting Valakut triggers instead of attacking. Finally in response to Deflecting Palm, I crack fetch and Bolt for lethal. He also had 2 Path to Exile in hand and I was at 2. Pretty unlucky and definitely NOT the correct play by me. But it got the job done. I felt like he had double Deflecting Palm and maybe a land. 2-0.
I finish 15th place at 4-2. Rough beats to D and T. It was sure to happen since I've almost never lost to any "non Eldrazi" Taxes deck in Modern. Legacy is a totally different story though, lol.
Some background info. This was the only PPTQ held this day in a 80 mi. radius, so the attendance was higher. For the other 2 that I top 8ed and top 4ed, there was another PPTQ with higher attendance in the 80 mi. radius. I purposely chose the lower attendance PPTQs; I want to win a PPTQ this season. Hopefully we all get there.

The first time I played against E&T I had no clue what was going on. They got to force me to sac a Steve then processed my my SFT to kill their own Strangler. It was disgusting. Then Leonin Arbiter and Ghost Quarter destroyed me. It was sad.
I'm not sure that matchup is terribad, but it rewards very very tight play and drawing your removal.
Round 3 vs. GB Tron. I curved well in game 1, Lightning Bolt him and Scapeshift for the win. Game 2 and 3 I lost badly. Both games Titan was Surgical Extraction. Game 3 literally all my 14 Mountains was in play, without Hour of Promise to find my Valakut. 1-2
Round 4 vs. Mono White Hatebear. Lost game 1 with 2 Leonin Arbiter and a Mirran Crusader. Game 2, his Leonin Arbiter immediately faced with Lightning Bolt. He was able to drop my life to 5, Titan swinging and Scapeshift for the win. Game 3, he didn't find his hate cards for my deck with only Thalia, Guardian of Thraben in play. Scapeshift for 6 triggers, taking Thalia and the rest to face, dropping him down to 5 and win next turn. 2-1
Round 5 vs. Dredge. Game 1 was alright, him dredging, I played ramp spells, Summoner's Pact for Primeval Titan. Until, I FORGOT TO PAY THE PACT ! Next turn, I drew another Pact then only I realized. My opponent caught it a bit late, reminded me and then only I pay. He called the judge and I knew it was over. Game 2 was fast for both of us. I need to survive a turn for my Scapeshift next turn, but Conflagrate for 7 seals it with a couple of Bloodghast, Prized Amalgam, and Narcomoeba. 0-2
Went 4-2 in a PPTQ yesterday. The deck felt great!
Round 1 Sun & Moon (Won 2-0)
Both of these games just involved me ramping fast. I was able to dodge a Blood Moon until the end where I had him down to 5. I played a Primeval Titan and next turn put out an Engineered Explosives on 0 to kill off all his tokens and swing to kill. Round 2 Grixis Death's Shadow (Lost 1-2)
Game 1 he had the nuts with 2 Death Shadows and a Angler out early to finish me before I could get any interaction.
Game 2 I ramped fast enough to kill him easy.
Game 3 I made a HUGE misplay. With him down to 7 life he had 1 DS out and a couple Snapcasters out. I was a healthy life total. He inquisitions me with me having Summoner's Pact in hand. Idk what I was thinking and forgot to cast the Pact in response and go grab a Chameleon Colossus :/ Lost a couple turns after that. Round 3 Eldrazi Tron (Lost 1-2)
In game 1 I just ramped out fast enough to kill him on turn 4.
In game 2 he has all the answers against me. Any threat I get out he is able to deal with it. I get land locked and lose quick.
In game 3 I have a great start but back-to-back Thought-Knot hurts. The game goes long, which I was happy with, but I just draw lands with no Valakuts :/ Round 4 Burn (Won 2-0)
In game 1 I turn 5 Scapeshift him. Steve helped a ton, obviously
Game 2 I have 2 Baloth's in hand and my opponent starts tilting HARD. He has me down to 5 and I pact for my final Baloth and he instantly scoops and begins a very salty rant of how every Scapeshift player always draws the Steve's or Baloth's against him LMAO Round 5 Grixis Control (Won 2-0)
Both games were very easy as this is a good matchup for us. Game 1 turn 4 Scapeshift. Game 2 Turn 5 Scapeshift. Round 6 Bring to Light Scapeshift (Won 2-1)
The guy playing this was a good friend of mine and he's very skilled with this version on scapeshift. Game one he is able to win the race and Scapeshift me.
Game 2 I win the race and he has no counter spells.
Game 3 he gets stuck on 3 mana, sadly. I scapeshift on turn 5 and win. 4-2 Record. Finished 10th place
The deck felt great. I want to go from 3 to 4 Obstinate Baloth. The card was a tank most of the day. I kind of want to try Hour of Promise here in the future. A HUGE thanks goes out to the people of this forum for helping and giving great advice. You the real MVP!!!

Also, thoughts on Chandra, Torch of Defiance in the deck? Most top 8 lists I've seen are running it but I've had some bad experiences ripping Scapeshifts with her +1 when I wasn't ready and it cost me the game...

I do not know where you look but most of the top 8 lists on mtgtop8 don't run Chandra.
Tournament tomorrow, I will test 2x Pia and Kiran Nalaar in the flex spot.

Chandra I've been much less impressed by. She makes a reasonable damage sponge and counter bait but beyond that is very meh.

Im thinking to play the same list next weekend at Grand Prix San Pablo (:
is this a keeper? doesn't seem like it would be a keeper but idk...

Round 1 vs. BG Death Cloud. He ramp early, Sakura-Tribe Elder then Garruk Wildspeaker into Sakura-Tribe Elder. Next turn Death Cloud for 5 when I could have won next turn if he didn't. Game 2 his life up to 27 thanks to Thragtusk and I manage to win with Chameleon Colossus and land drops. Game 3, he up again to 26 life and I manage to Scapeshift with 2 Valakuts for 36 damage. 2-1
Round 2 vs. Eldrazi Tron. Game 1, I ramp well, dropping him to 5. He curved nicely too but saved by Sakura-Tribe Elder blocking Thought-Knot Seer. I was down to 5 as well with 2 Valakuts in play, all I need is a Mountain, and I did. Game 2 I was on 6 lands with him 2 untap Ghost Quarter. I had a Scapeshift and Beast Within in hand with Prismatic Omen in play, all I need is to draw a land to play around Ghost Quarter, but I didn't. I was down to 3 life, had to cast Scapeshift, countered by Warping Wail. Game 3 he Surgical Extraction both Windswept Heath and Wooded Foothills, leaving him down to 16. I'm with 6 lands and a Scapeshift in hand, and I drew Prismatic Omen for a wonderful 72 damage ! 2-1
Round 3 vs.
Round 6 vs. Affinity. Game 1 I made a mistake. I was on the play, played Stomping Ground tapped and next turn Farseek with Lightning Bolt in hand when he played Vault Skirge and Cranial Plating, dealing 5. Taking unnecessary damage. Game 2 was alright, he vomited Memnite, Ornithopter, Mox Opal and was cleared by Engineered Explosives for 0 on turn 2, leaving him Vault Skirge and a land. Win that with Titan but lost game 3 as I didn't draw any hate cards. 1-2
Overall, I really like Prismatic Omen. 1-2 in the main steals you a game or two. And I finally understand this list http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=115237 that was won by Titanshift with 3 Hour of Promise. That card fills in the 5cmc slot well in turn 3 that you can cast Scapeshift for 21 or 36 damage in turn 4.

The game goes long, which I was happy with, but I just draw lands with no Valakuts :/
Round 4 Burn (Won 2-0)
In game 1 I turn 5 Scapeshift him. Steve helped a ton, obviously
Game 2 I have 2 Baloth's in hand and my opponent starts tilting HARD. He has me down to 5 and I pact for my final Baloth and he instantly scoops and begins a very salty rant of how every Scapeshift player always draws the Steve's or Baloth's against him LMAO
Round 5 Grixis Control (Won 2-0)
