I was surprised to not see a thread to discuss this deck here, so I'll kick it off. I've been playing UR and URB control and got my teeth kicked in several times by UB Gifts Reanimator. Then I started to see discussion of the UW Gift lists and, WOW!, this deck has some pop. I built it on MTGO and it is very surprisingly powerful. Hopefully not ban-worthy, but this will certainly force decks to play some kind of graveyard hate. Here's an example list:
At this point, I've only jammed a couple of matches with plans to play more. I was pretty amazed, though, at how consistent a beating that this can put up. Even through disruption (or mulligans), you wind up with the occasional turn 4 God-Pharaoh's Gift which can end the game up quickly with very little in your graveyard.
I'm guessing teams are planning for this deck as PT Hour of Devastation gets underway in Japan and, hopefully, a primer will be worthwhile if it continues to be a viable deck.
Has anyone else been playing this? I'm curious if anyone has ideas on bad match-ups or good side-boarding plans versus better decks. I thought Mono-Red Aggro was going to be a bad match-up, but between Cataclysmic Gearhulk and a reanimated Angel of Invention, it can be a lot better than it looks on paper.
