So I was playing Vamps and thought Adanto Vanguard was just really good. This lead me to thinking about a boggles style standard list and this is what I came up with.
This is just my first draft. I'm still testing and tweaking it. I like the storm callers since they protect my creatures and me and allow me to cast chart a course turn 2 for full value. I was trying to fit in a 4th Cast Out but don't know what I want to cut. I'm also thinking about trying to fit in Hope of Ghirapur. Seems like protection against wrath but not sure I need it since my creatures already have protection from wrath and Storm caller protects me from settle the wreckage. I'm open to thoughts and suggestions. none of this is set in stone, even the board is just a rough thought. I am still not sure if I want to stick with WU or go WG. Maybe even WUg.
It's very rare that you want 4x of a 2 CMC Legendary (Sram). You might even consider dropping one of the 4x of a 3 CMC Legendary (Kefnet) for the same reason. I would start by cutting one of those to get my 4th Cast Out if I were you. I also really like to activate raid on Chart a Course if I am playing it; more 1 drops in the mainboard would be a good thing I think, maybe more Sirens or some Sacred Cats to main (could drop a Dive Down or two, and/or some Chart a Course). Those are my initial thoughts.
You're probably correct about dropping a god. There have been games where it has just sat in my hand. The srams though usually don't stick around more than a turn so multiples are never a bad thing. I think I'll drop a god, one conviction and one dive down for the other two sirens and fourth cast out.
I feel like you'll get a lot of mileage out of disallow or spell pierce. serrle the wreckage and whirler virtuoso can cause you some big fits. Disallow solves both and outliers like ballista, which can be a headache from snek decks.
Kinda like a riff off the UW pummeler/hydra energy deck with vanguard and a little more interaction. I think andanto vanguard has the goods if it's properly supported. Wish there was something similar to unflinching courage to give reach and lifelink in one card.
have you considered WB instead? You'd have more access to other creatures that can become indestructible, and Cartouche of Ambition is much better with Adanto Vanguard than the aura's you have.
The problem with trying to build a "Bogles" style deck in Standard is that you don't have anything that resembles the creatures used in the Modern deck.
There is Bastion Inventor but it requires so much artifact support (for improvise) to make it work which renders it pretty much unplayable.
#Adanto isn't terrible but there are ways to deal with it and you can't keep paying life to save it for long
(unless you can give it lifelink somehow, maybe Cartouche of Ambition with a black splash).
#Kefnet isn't particularly relevant as an attacking creature in anything besides draw-go control and even there it isn't always "active".
You may be right about the black. The draw off the blue and instant speed hexproof was what drew me to that color. With black I could play the black edict enchantment for Max cartouche value.
I really thought about green for the Hydra and defense but I want to keep the creatures cheap. It may be necessary though.
I'll work on a list some tonight.
If black then duress is probably you're only out against settle. I do like that black will let you run bontu's last reckoning and keep value on the board with The vanguard. Standard is sorely lacking proper 2+ for 1s aside from the board sweepers.
Played a straight UW version of this at the store championship and I didn't lose a match (only had like 8 players.)
I think I'm going to splash black for Cartouche Of Ambition though after a few games with it. In theory it's crazy good on the creatures I'm playing. Anyway here's the list.
Sideboard is unchanged, but the changes from the maindeck are 7 deserts with 4 deserts hold in place of 1 Saving Grace and 3 Cartouche of Ambition. I beat ramunap red, black red aggro, Grixis Thopters and ramunap red again.
I had put this deck on hold since I felt it was still missing another creature. Well with the new set it looks like we might get it and some more great enchantments. slippery scoundrel seems like what this deck needs, I don't think soul of the rapids is viable, but I may be wrong (5 just seems too high a cost). I know it needs to get the city's blessing to get the buffs but I don't think it will be that difficult. curious obsession, squire's devotion, and maybe even baffling end seem like decent additions. Squire's devotion may be/is probably better then cartouche of ambition, since it gives a creature.
1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
I saw it. He may be correct. I just like the dive down because of the hexproof. Indestructible doesn't protect from vraskas contempt, hostage taker, and the new baffling end. I also am running a few desserts holds for scarab god and hazoret. Instead of the skymarcher I'm running slither blade.

Your dudes are pretty weak. You're afraid of a 4 mana creature stealing your 1 mana dude? Or sram? It's a pretty ineffective play. The whole point of this deck is to go under everyone else. Every aura provides advantage to replace itself so you're always at parity with removal. And if your opp is spending 4 mana to kill any of your dorks, then you're winning aren't you? Just be smart of how you unleash your threats.
I'm sure there are ways to improve the deck but it's awesome to see something that was utterly impossible before the ban come out and be competitive.
He also answers the question why no Slither Blade. It's because the deck can't really support U 1-drops because of the fragile/poor mana base. Also, he says no Slippery Scoundrel because it's not good in the games where we have no City's Blessing, and it's win-more in the games that we do have it.
The only other consideration is possibly trying to fit 2 Gideon of the Trials into the SB for matchups against heavy removal.
I am having issues with the SB as well. It seems like adding anything can stray away from the plan. I could see Kinjalli's Sunwing being a good SB option against aggro.
Tocatli Honor Guaard could be excellent too. None of our creature has an ETB trigger and it would help protect against Merfolk and Gearhulks. Could be interesting to turn this deck into more of a Hatebears situation through Sideboarding.
Dive Down is a champion here. It give creatures a big butt, and hexproof. It is so good for any situation and you will want to save a creature that has tons of auras on it. Sheltering Light seems like the card you could cut to add in the Dives.
Oketra the True is extremely is easy to activate and allows you to get a huge threat on the board by turn 4. If I have her in a starting hand then I can usually close out the game. But Gideon of the Trials may be better. I think it is worth going down two cards to add a large threat like either one of them. Sacred Cat is the easiest to cut. The lifelink is nice, but I would rather pump a Pouncer or Vanguard. Legions Landing also provides you with plenty of opportunity to have 1/1 lifelinkers. I think Skymarcher can come down to 3 without hurting the curve too much.
I worked on a SB and am looking to be able to control big threats with it. Cast Outs and Settle the Wreckage in, Baffling End's out when playing against decks with Gods and Gearhulks.
Tocatli Honor Guard is really nice too. I MB two, but am considering going three. One aura and she avoids lightning strikes. More hexproof creatures would be interesting. It is easy to get around burn, but pushes can hurt a lot.
Glad people like the Honor Guard. He worked well for me but that was pre rotation. Good to know he's still worth playing. I like the idea of Oketra over sacred cat as flood protection too. Turning it on is easy sometimes but others we will struggle. We will also fail to hit 4 land a lot unless you run more than 20.
Consuming Fervor is interesting, but I like See Red even more. I just don't know about splashing red.
I was able to play Oketra the most by using a flipped Legions Landing. If you are able to activate her, you most likely have a flipped Landing too. Looking at it that way our manabase is closer to 23 than 20 (kinda...)
Evasion is important, and 2 Siren Stormtamer has also been really beneficial. It give you the ability to protect other creatures or go in for some damage.
I want to try some more of the blue Merfolk with hexproof to see if any would be candidates for the deck.

I love the concept though.
If you splash green you get deeproot champion, the green cartouche, blossoming defense, larger than life, bristling hydra and energy in general (which gives you hub and solid fixing for it). Feels like you want trample?

Btw, a pretty good aura you've missed is One with the Wind (the functional reprint of Spectral Flight).
A more efficient "voltron" type deck is probably the Electrostatic Pummeler deck, though it is more similar to "Modern Infect" rather than Bogles.

My main problem testing so far is how to board - mainly what to board out.
