Like any cube manager, I've been keeping tabs on how much $$$ I needed to "finish" my cube (in my case, getting specific versions of each card in my list) since the day I created it (nearly 10 years ago!). By "finish", I mean to have every single card in its final iteration in the physical cube and only needing to add newly printed cards or make changes as dictated by my design decisions. Thought it would be cool for other people to see where other cube managers are in their progress, too.
I started my cube as a so-called "Dragon Cube" and it was 720 cards. As I realized the sheer size of this cube was untenable, I eventually cut to 540, and again to 360.
Cube Size: 360
Powered: Yes
Progress: 92.8% complete (334/360 cards pimped--283 foil/promos, 51 non-foil power/duals/old sets/non-foil printings only/etc)
Cost Remaining: $3,070.00
Biggest 3 Cards Needed: Foil Rishadan Port, Full-Art Mutavault, EMA Foil Force of Will
For the most part, I consider my cube complete. There's about $50 worth of changes I have planned, but the cards currently in their place do a good job, so I'm in no rush to make those changes. I'm not currently trying to get premium versions of any cards in the cube. The biggest cost currently is changing out Karn, Liberated for Ugin, the Spirit Dragon.
I proxy my expensive cards, so WE MADE IT, WE OUT HERE
Activating a Library of Alexandria IRL for the first time ever was such a decadent feeling. I highly recommend it!
On a side note, once I finish my 360, I'm probably going to continue my 93-94 cube project which is about 40% complete....good thing I already have power/duals, Moat, Library, and a few hands full of other cards that I nabbed before the birth of the 93-94 format which skyrocketed the prices.

Totally. Years ago before any of our cubes had any power it was kind of tough to grasp the power of certain cards, Library included. Then your ETB untapped land draws you 3-7 cards over the course of a game and it's like, well gee golly whiz this is fun! I've only recently proxied my own cube but my friend has had proxies for years now and it's really quite a lot of fun drafting with power.
My dual lands are proxies, and not great ones actually because they're a little thicker than other cards, but that's what you get for ebay. I may end up getting one of those lots of P9 + dual proxies eventually, so I can power my cube if I ever feel like it. Someday I'll get CE duals, and those will be something like $500-600. No real rush on those, though.
The only big money card I am really keen to add soon is a judge foil Imperial Seal. I'd also like a judge foil Imperial Recruiter, but that's further down the line, too. Probably $300 for the two of those cards.
I'm actually quite happy with my cube right now, and once I get the Seal and Recruiter, I think I'll just be adding new cards from new sets, and occasionally rotating archetypes.
Forgot Mox Diamond, Scroll Rack, and Noble Hierarch. So another $150 or so. Ugh.
I can't say I'm pleased to see you and must warn you I may have to do something about it.

Draft my cube: Eric's 390 Unpowered
My cube's only 45% signed - another 240ish cards to go, so whatever that amounts to. I've got a chunk left that are relatively easy, and a bunch of one-ofs that'll be an issue.
201 unique artists for my 440ish card cube.
Card wise it's in good order now. Finished the last Betas and finally replacing that Modern Masters Vivid Meadow that snuck in there somehow..
I have three more duals (the Mardu colors) to get Collector's Edition versions of, plus the enemy fetches. That will eliminate all the proxies. After that it's a matter of getting a few last cards I didn't proxy, like Snapcaster, and upgrading if I feel like it. For example, I'd like at least one Alpha card and one Beta card, and I may try to get some rarities like an Alpha-cut 4th edition and such.
For the basic needs I'm looking at about 400 or so over time. Then maybe another few hundred for other customizations that aren't strictly necessary.
Edit: I also try to do as much as I can through trades and buylists, so I don't anticipate actually spending hundreds in cash.
I recently added Fallen Empires to my 93-94 cube so I didn't have to make such miserable concessions like playing Pearled Unicorn and Rukh Egg haha Only suggestion is to consider Fallen Empires/Homelands/Ice Age so the card options aren't so dismal.
As far as being on topic, to complete my 93/94 project, I'm going to be dipping heavily into CE/IE. I want the nostalgic feel and I don't necessarily want to pay $100 for Kudzu.
"Finished" might be a strong term but $130.36 (100 pounds) would be a very big step in the right direction. That figure is based on the fact I am happy to proxy or use World Championship decks, that reduces the cost a lot.
The idea of finishing my cube makes no sense to me, but I did recently come to the startling realization that I have pretty much every card worth less than a US dollar that could possibly be cube worthy. Next would be to acquire all the cubeable cards worth around two dollars; a feat I doubt I'll ever accomplish. My only complaint about my cube is that I don't get to draft it enough. It has felt complete for years.
In terms of "catching up" with the current cards, after just acquiring my Tarmo, I think all I have missing is Badlands and Savannah, which totals to about $90? I am selling off old cards and rotated cube cards to sponsor this amount. I am holding on to some World championship proxy cards to eventually use them as duals, or perhaps moxen.
As for the comment "a cube never gets finished". Yes, this much is true. I update my cube more than I play with it. But now I have cached up such that I only update once a year: whenever sets rotate. But it complete in a sense that it can be played and no one will probably miss anything.
I still need a LOTV and a few more fetches [have revised duals).
Then i would like to aquire a series of cards

I personally lige the Egg. For me it's a really nostalgic card and I think its power level in on par.

That's true. A cube is a game, an art form, a collector's dream (and your best pal at lonely nights).

Maybe I should have worded it as "How much money do you have left to spend to bring your cube up to date"...
