It has done a lot to increase the incentive to play super-ramp. It is so much better than resolving a single creature in that position that it drives players to want to play the archetype when they otherwise might play regular ramp or midrange instead.
I cut tooth and nail for a bit, a few of my players protested.. put it back in, payed close attention, and realized I was wrong to cut it. It does a lot of work in most green ramp decks.
If your finishers are say hornet queen + woodfall primus, It's good but nothing special.. I'd probably want a third green fatty over tooth and nail in that configuration.
But if there's an eldrazi, or a craterhoof or something that ends the game 99% of the time in conjunction with another fatty, the card is extremely powerful.
Maelstrom wanderer + any fatty is nuts.
I wouldn't include it in my cube if I wasn't supporting "super ramp" but it's a key card IN super ramp.
