Giant, reusable Man-o-war / Waterfront Bouncer variant with tribal synergy. Seems like a decent option for people looking for another high-end blue spell.
Looks subpar compared to blue's 6-drops. Unless you have another Wizard on board, how often will you want to use its ability versus just attacking. Not terrible, but I don't think it's great either.
On a smaller body that cost 5, I'd finally get to cut Meloku, at least to test. As is, not going to cut it.

This would be an incredible 5 drop, I'm not surprised a card that can potentially removing everything you want to from the table each turn costs so much. The same way Tidespout Tyrant has to cost so much, so does this.

I don't understand wanting to cut Meloku. That card is nuts.

I understand both sides of the coin. Yeah, it can do nutty stuff, but it's certainly not unstoppable, and the condition is not always realistic if you have better spells in hand. Essentially, if you can't afford the activations--which can be a real problem--then it's a 2/4 flier for 4U. But if you can, you have a 2/4 flier than makes other 1/1 fliers for little to no cost.
Compared to most 5 drops in cube, Meloku is underwhelming. Compare it to Avacyn, Angel of Invention, Custodi Lich, any of the red or green 5s. Meloku fails the Terminate test hard, and the only 5s in my cube that also do that are Baneslayer and Kalonian Hydra, both of which win in a few turns with no investment. The synergy possibilities are there with Meloku for sure, but it costs 5 for an unimpressive body and you have to pay for value, even if the pay is cheap. It's simply outclassed by other 5s, but because blue has no options and the card is fun, I still play it.

I wouldn't say it fails it hard, open mana means you can leave a number of evasive threats behind. But yeah, if you don't have open mana or can't afford to make the tokens, it kinda sucks.
Meloku is no slouch, but falls firmly into the 'sacred cow' category. Were it printed in a new set, I don't think it would see much fanfare. It's true that blue's fives are very shallow though.
Nonetheless I don't think this Giant Wizard could have seen print at five mana given the effect it would be likely to have instantly in a tribal build. Cool but not what my cube needs.
Meloku has flirted with the cut line in my cube a few times, even at 720. It looks less and less efficient as its competition gets better and better. Still, in some decks it can take over the game, so it's held its slot on my list.
Seven mana is just too much for Galecaster to make me want to try it out. There are so many cube threats that I don't really want to return to my opponent's hand.
I prefer Temporal Adept, which I think is underrated (though still not mainstream cubeable). This is okay, but I don't want to be paying for a gigantic body if I'm using it for bounces. I'd like this if it were 3UU for a 1/2.
I'm also disappointed in the art: it's just a normal giant. Needed a spellbook, and... wizard stuff.
