Hot damn! Now that is a way cooler card than any dorky dragon planeswalker. It does all the stuff (affordably) AND its flavor text is a sweet song reference.
Seems pretty sweet, but 3 color costs are so much easier to swallow on 7-8 drops than 4 drops. The nice thing is it does give you the ability to cast the turn it ETB, which is awesome, but the color cost hurdle is real and will be tough to overcome. That being said, it definitely does seem powerful enough.

Although this is a 4-drop, I feel like this is something you typically wouldn't cast on turn 4.

Yeah, because you won't have the right mana for it
But yeah I get your point. With that in mind, I think I would still rather the 7 mana bolas since it's a bit more consistent on what it brings to the table. But I imagine this is something that might need some play, or can make a bigger list, or if your players like playing Grixis control is just good enough there to run.
I think this easily jumps to the head of the pack as a midrange Grixis option, but the Bolas planeswalkers fill a pretty unique role, and you need a good excuse to be doubling up on tri-color.

Maybe she's just too good not to play, though.
My problem with the Bolos walkers is that I don't feel they play a unique role outside of being BOLAS!. Karn and Ugin do a very similar job in my opinion and aren't three colors. That said I have a guy who keeps sneaking a bolas into my cube and is like "What....?, I just assumed you weren't awesome enough to own one, use mine."
As far as Kess, I think she has some serious play to her. Anything that allows me to replay broken spells in cube is worth a look. I think it needs flash, only 2 colors, or maybe play on each persons turn to protect her with counterspells. But 3/4 flying is not easy to kill. I'm going to try her for sure.
Certainly powerful, but it is a 3-color gold creature, and it can be expensive if you want it to pass a removal test for you. If you don't like the Bolas options and you want a Grixis card, this is one of the better options we've seen though.

Does Slave of Bolas part of the Bolas options? If not, I think we like the latter more than this Grixis snapcaster.
I think this card is excellent, but the grixis mana cost and further deck building restrictions make this too narrow for me to currently justify testing.
I wonder why it's worded "during each of your turns", instead of "during your turn". Isn't the first part implicit?
I think this card is what Grixis wants way more than any Bolas. I can see myself splash for this in U/R spells, which doesn't happens with Bolas. Definitely worth testing.

Looks like it's just a templating thing - that's how all similar effects that give you permission to do a set number of things on your turns are worded (Azusa, Exploration, Gisa & Geralf, Karador, etc). At this point it's likely consistency of syntax.

I am almost always splashing black in my U/R spells deck already for yagmoth's will, snuff out, removal, K command etc. So theis seems like a good fit there. That deck is a little mana light so it will be tough to get value the turn it is cast. That said things will alternate casting like fireblast, gitaxian probe, and fireblast are all fare game.
My u/b decks often end up as spell heavy and tempo oriented but this doesn't play great with counterspells.
Why wouldn't this just be UR? Good god, this would be a slam dunk in my Izzet section. But handling ABC1 mana costs at 4 mana is basically impossible in my cube. Bolas is there because he's easy to cast and good. This is probably better overall, but it'd have to be a cube running double fetches and plenty of lands to get to make this remotely reliably castable.

Grixis Snapcaster Mage variant. Seems like a good option for those with 3-color slots and aren't a fan of Bolas.
