In addition to the unusual parody art, this ne'er reprinted uncommon from 1997 seems downright sweet to me. The option to scale land destruction can be pretty devastating, and it's not horrible to crack it on turn three on the play. My cube is slower than most, so this sort of card is a lot more playable, but I feel like this has merit. Has anyone ever tried it?
Tried it in my classic cube ages ago. Far too slow. Have you seen Dwarven Miner/Dwarven Blastminer? Card's just nowhere near good enough by comparison.
Tried it in Peasant. Nobody else played it and it was too bad of a tempo play for the decks that want LD for it to stand out when I'd force it. Army Ants came closer to what I wanted, but it also died to a stiff breeze.
Army Ants may be my favorite BR card in my cube, and I play a lot of the others suggested as well. It sounds like this is one of those cards that's probably good in my cube, but too weak for most others. I'm excited to get one. Thanks, all.
I would love to get a bit more land destruction into my cube but I don't know if this is the card I want, it seems like you need to be using the 2 land mode before you are ahead of any of the other options. Regardless it seems like a fun card and I hope you can make it work.
Maybe we will get lucky with the new Un-stable and get some playable land destruction in Un fashion since they have said they wont do it in black border.
I keep seeing Army Ants popping up, I need to remember to try and pick one up as my Rakdos section is a bit dull and army ants seems like a spicy card.
Me: "Goblin Settler does seem pretty sweet. Maybe I'll get one; it can't cost more than 50 cents."
Cardkingdom: "Card is over $50."
Me: "Oh."
Yea that really annoyed me the first time I seen the card. Maybe they will give it a commander or other non-standard set (like the next conspiracy set).

I think it's worse than all the 4-CMC ETB LD creatures and Fulminator Mage.
