I just use her for a regular zombie deck since its fun. But will she ever go down in price before she rotates out of standard?
This is the cube forum, and probably not by a lot if at all.
Yeah, I have begun to wait for the Standard staples to rotate before I buy them. Paying $30 for a card that will soon be $5 just seems silly. The side benefit is I get to read not only our theory crafting but cube experiences with cards before adding them in to mine.
It still comes down on turn T2 (and sticks) if you start it off turn one and don't have other gas. As a top deck late, it is probably okay, if a tad costly. In the process of turning it on, you get potential triggers / vehicle interactions, as marginal as that is.
I think the card is worth looking at if simply for the fact that it might give green another niche archtype. Not playable in all 540 cubes but it does things differently than most cards, which is always leaves room for more upside.
I would have fun playing this card.
Barring another source of energy, this doesnt stick until turn three. It only gives you energy if you return it. I could see newer cubes running this in an energy suite and maybe big cubes wanting to support green agrro, but its a pass for mine.
Definitely finding a cut for this, just for the colorless support which I'm still testing right now. Getting to cube only once a month makes it a slow process.
It also doesn't fix you if you are missing a color(s). If I'm missing black in my Sultai reanimator deck, this doesn't actually help.
Yes, it does. The domain only generates the value for X, not the colors of mana it can produce.
Oo! That's an important distinction. I glossed over the text after domain, reading is tech. Thanks for the correction! Still not great, but much better.

We also have 1 utility land per monocolor. We preferred Barbarian Ring to Flamekin Village, but found the village pretty useful, so we were going to test whether battlements was better than village until we decided to just bundle the meld cards.
By bundle the meld cards do you mean that if you draft Hanweir Garrison you automatically get the Battlements?
That would make them a much better card.... If I wasnt a purist I would do it myself.
I was thinking that maybe he can not only see play in ramp/tinker/reanimator strategies (even if he's not the best target), but he can also be a thing in wildfire. Use mana rocks to power out wildfire then follow up with colossus.
Yes it dies to removal and has no evasion but this is so big it wins in 2 swings. That's gotta be worth something
I'd say the problem lies in its competition being much better.
Yeah, as a place holder for the true greats like Wurmcoil and what not that someone forming a new cube hadn't acquired yet, or in the case of a really big cube, this might have a home but it's a safe pass for me at 540.
Reusable, flexible burn seems pretty staple-y to me. The hoop you have to jump through is a tough one, but especially if you have pro color weenies in your cube I think it deserves its slot.
Im considering how to build something similar, though not as big. Probably 540? Mechanically Ive already decided that the big draft matters cards and the conspiracies will be seeded rather than in the general cube pool and that Im going to sticker (inside the sleeve) and number multiple cards so that players will be able to see at a glance how many copies of a given card are in the cube, and therefore how many they might see. If you find you dont like the conspiracies at the rarities you list them at now, trying a seeding method rather than changing the numbers of each. looking forward to more draft reports and feed back!
I think I still like the Masticores more. Without other creatures on the board, it's effectively a Skizzik without the kicker.
Except it's colorless. And can be activated later. Seems dramatically better than an unkicked Skizzik.
An empty board is actually a great time to lay this down, because if you have any gas left you can tap them when they're summoning sick for the most value.
You make a salient point. Partially because I was thinking of it in the wrong archetype. I'll put new thought into it and see what I come up with.
Wait... Someone being reasonable and considering someone else's opinion?!? I thought this was the internet? Kudos to you sir!
I think some of these vehicles might warrant testing, including this one. I will be interested to see how often they break stalls.
Yeah, all the Agendas that name cards are obviously way better in a format where you can end up with multiples of the same card. The spy kit is sweet tech though and might be a reason to include them if you were on the fence about them. I don't include any conspiracies in my main cube, but I may build a new one to do so!
A very match up dependant card. Probably best as an aggro curve topper helping you squeeze out the last few points of life from your opponent. I don't think it makes mature cubes until they are very large, but I would draft it in Peasant cubes and wouldn't scoff at it in a newly built cube either.
