I mean, yeah. Not much to say about this one other than it might be the most maindeckable card in all of unpowered cube. Unless you’re a monocolored deck without graveyard/shuffle synergies or are so all-in on fixing that you can scarcely fit basics in, you’re going to play this.

Interesting card. I like that it shuts down some opponents’ attacks cold and attacks for 8+ on the next turn after it comes down, but lacking immediate haste or interaction makes me think this is a bit too fair. Red 5s are a murderer’s row as well.

I kind of like this card as a package. The pump effect is high ceiling low floor, but deathtouch ensures this will be relevant on any board, and the recursion is actually super relevant in green decks that can struggle with running out of useful threats. I think it competes more than it might seem at first glance.

This isn’t bad by any means, but I’d enjoy it much more if I could easily recur it.

My initial reaction is that it doesn’t seem especially difficult to draw most of your deck with it in cube, aristocrats or not. It might actually be at its best in a powered cube where you can go all-in on a storm kill.

Agreed on this being a major archetype piece for Fires. The nice thing about this as Sneak redundancy is that there’s almost no removal outside of countermagic that can deal with it forever, so your opponent will have to spend the rest of the game answering it every few turns to stop it from cheating in an Eldrazi. The not-so-nice thing is that it doesn’t give attack triggers, so no annihilator (poor you, attacking with a mere 15/15 flying trampler).

This falls into the Scarab God category for me: it’s just so efficiently costed and does so much with no downside that I can’t imagine there’s any world where it would be an objectively weak card in your cube, even if it isn’t the best thing you could be doing.

I mean, in the alternate dimension where there’s a Stoneforge Mystic for vehicles, maybe...

This is worth noting as Black’s first true Dragon Fodder variant. Other 2-drops will get you two bodies if they die, activate their abilities, etc, but this is the only one that actually produces two bodies immediately. For those that support sacrifice-heavy strategies in black or feature Zombie synergies, this card deserves consideration.

This planeswalker is not terribly behind the curve. It produces two threats, protects your whole team, and digs for your next plays. The power level here is not obscene and the competition is fierce, but this card has a relatively high floor for a planeswalker and could be a useful replacement-level card for creature-based blue decks.

Mega Huntmaster! This card seems like an anti-aggro monster, but much more low-impact than I like my fives to be against other strategies. It’s nice that there are actually a fair amount of cubeable wolf token producers, but this isn’t going to be reliably good enough to crack Selesnya in most cubes.

I like the play pattern of this card, and I’d love to get in some loopy Eternal Witness nonsense with it, but it’s in a guild with Supreme Verdict, so I doubt I’ll be doing so anytime soon.

Yeah, I think Rakdos is too good for this. It can steal games unanswered, but casting this on turn 2 is unreliable, and afterwards the value of this card falls off dramatically.

I guess I just don’t see why I would want to play this over Gideon of the Trials? This is significantly more vulnerable since it can’t reliably protect itself and you don’t get to control when it becomes a creature. The creature buffs aren’t insignificant, but they don’t add any power to your attacking force. A big part of GotT’s appeal to me was that you could actually play it defensively, which this card is extremely bad at.

Maybe not, but a 6/6 Hexproof Vigilance Lumbering Falls sure is!

Remember all that sick and twisted stuff we wanted to do flashing stuff in with Electrodominance? Now we can do it by playing an awesome card instead of a terrible one!

To me this compares well to Liliana. She gets a 2 mana effect out of her removal option (Diabolic Edict) while Teferi gets a 3 mana one (Repulse). And while Liliana’s uptick is more reliably good, Teferi’s static ability can grind certain opponents’ strategies to a halt while his plus opens up a world of options for you. I look forward to draw step Thoughtseizes and Fractured Identity blowouts.

I actually like this more than Worldwaker at first blush. Vigilance, haste and untap lets this protect itself far better than Worldwaker and attack more aggressively. This also does fun things with creature lands! As far as the mana discount goes, you can still get 2 out of the 4 immediately (along with a possible attack) and the ability to get more colors than Worldwaker generally allows. And you still get to attack! And that’s not even getting into how much better this is with other untap effects (Both Nissas are pretty sick together, actually).
