i threw in 2 tribunals. and it is simply phenomenal. went to the dallas regionals with soul sisters human varient and it was good when it was good lol. lost mostly to tron, and of course the usual control decks. its mostly just a matchup lottery on who you get paired up against.
been playing soul sisters quite a lot lately with a lot of good success. only because of the meta in the city being a lot of humans, spirits, dredge, deathshadow. i have been enjoying the deck a lot too. i hope to see some good cards from the next set help us in any way lol
im about to drop honor of the pure as well. im only running 2 in the first place. im not sure if i want to run thalia-GoT at all for the fact i still stand behind running spectral procession. especially if i am running thune and having even just one sister out with windbrisk. those 3 aspects keep it really fun. but with lieutenant, pumping all creatures does sound pretty awesome.
i have been playing and really enjoying playing it. i am still trying to tweak the deck, but still running a basic thune/ranger/bugler package and seems pretty good. the only things ive been struggling with is of course the usual god tier hands people get. other than that, the deck does feel decently placed.
for your first deck. i think you are not running enough creatures for soul sisters to actually do well. not having any ranger of eos seems to be bad. id consider taking out the oblivion ring too. main board worship is great, i still have that main board and its a free game one at times. ive been playing soul sisters for quite awhile and been tweaking my list every month lol.
for your monumental sisters, it looks pretty sweet, lots of creatures, and interactions to save your own creatures with whitemane lion. same from before, i dont like oblivion ring in this deck just for the fact it slows us down more than anything. maybe turning that ring into a 4th honor of the pure.
ive been running 4 champions and 3 thunes. that list is pretty awesome and minimal. i was at that plano tournament. was playing my monowhite D&T list sadly though. greats to him though
having been playing both midrange and aggro builds. ive just always felt better playing the midrange. im almost considering dropping martyrs for brave the elements just for the soul fact (pun intended) that most games i end up playing, it leads to a back and forth of no attacks while my ajani is at like 8/8+ and a simple trample / protection spell swing would win.
i did see a humans soul sisters build that had the sisters, ajani, thalias lieutenant, and abzan falconer. seems an interesting build.
im trying to decide if i want to mainboard 2 spellskites and maybe take out a honor of the pure or martyr. most of my games i havnt been playing honor as much as i would like. even if i have one out or something, ive been around more jund or other decks that run terminates, paths, etc that honor doesnt stop in the first place.
ive been considering a human build as well throwing in the thalias lieutenant card to give an easy pump on the sisters and what not.
there a pptq tomorrow. dont know if i want to go the rvng build or a bit more midrange with the 3 thunes and champions... ive had good success with the midrange by dropping the birds and what not.
so i just got back from an IQ plus tournament. made it to top 8. my matchups were all a fight, which i dont mind as it was fun lol. most games i did have to mulligan to 6 and 5. had a blast at the tournament and as always, learned a lot.
first round was against grixis which i wrecked him in 2. the champions and pridemates did their thing.
second game was against slivers. easy game as he was chump blocking my pridemates.
third round was a loss against RG breach. he was able to ramp to emerakul twice and couldnt get my board out faster.
fourth game was against infect. i was in 3, super lucky with double ghost quaters and paths and dismembers.
fifth was another infect (lucky me right? lol) which went 3 games too. was a back and fourth for a bit but i was getting better top decks like spectrals.
top eight was a loss against jund. he was just able to stablize better with removal and get goyfs and oozes out and pumped. didnt see any of my sideboard in the 3 games. i feel confident against jund when i have champions.
hello everyone. long time lurker. been playing this deck for a few months. been enjoying it immensely. i will be going to a gpt in my area in a few hours. i will be trying rvng's deck tonight, which may be a bad idea cause my deck was played quite a bit and i got used to how it played. but we shall see how it goes lol. i ran 4 champions and i liked them just because the meta in my area plays a lot of burn, jund, ad nauseum, dredge, etc. so the life gain and protection that champion has helped at times. but it will be fun to see how rvgns list does tonight.
my list was.
4 soul wardens
3 souls attendant
4 auriok champion
2 martyr of sands
3 serra accendant
4 ajjanis pridemate
3 ranger of eos
3 archangel of thune
4 path of exile
3 honor of the pure
4 spectral procession
1 gideon ally of zendikar
12 plains
2 windbrisk heights
4 ghost quarter
4 Flagstones of Trokair
was at a local store today browsing the magic cards and saw some i didnt quite know what they were and was hoping some of you might. i wouldnt have asked this if i knew they were intro decks or theme decks, but they didnt have any of those booklets and such.
they were all wrapped in plastic so i couldnt see all the cards except the front.
first one had one of those player cards with gabriel nassif, so im assuming its one of his tournament decks. which one, im not sure.
the next 2 were small 20 or so card stacks with a sticker over it saying "do not shuffle, gold player deck - and silver player deck" the front cards were norwood ranger and giant octopus.
last had Dawn Charm on the front. was about 40 or so cards in it
i wish i had my phone to have taken pictures of the set icons, but was in a rush.
