@White_Lynx
Your last explanation doesn't make sense, if the guy only has one creature(bigger than yours) he will not attack elspeth without a backup plan, it's just a plain worse play...
Hi, I've ran a similar deck and will list some interesting ideas:
You can run simian spirit guides, not only as accelerator but as a T1 "destroy your land" with Crack the earth when you are on the draw, and then drop your land to play. And even destroy opposing leylines when on the play.
As discard, you can run blackmail, even though it looks bad, in this type of deck, the opponent will probably show you a land, to preserve something else, thus digging his own grave.
One engine that should be considered, is the Haakon, Stromgald Scourge engine, you can discard it as value through smallpox and looting, and can be used with Nameless Inversion to kill nonstop.
I don't think Goblin Charbelcher is a good card for the deck, it should occupy the slot of a finisher, in this deck we're using Sigil of the Empty Throne, Emrakul and Iona. In comparisson to these, the charbelcher either has a slower clock, or doesn't help in the enchantment theme(for devotion and for angel tokens), besides from being dependant on another card that is run as a 1-of. And it's not helping in unfavorable matchups.
But I admit it can fit in another themed deck that could run some belchers, endless horizons, maybe some Weathered Wayfarer to grab for a nykthos. But that would be another build entirely.
Oh, and from more tests, I've decided that I have to run the red splash, but I don't have the money now for the set of blood moons, but I'll proxy up a deck to test and think of the best build possible.
From the ups and downs, I guess they come out the same
Emmy costs significantly more mana(when I can have 15 mana, the board is in total control), but he indeed guarantees more of a win than Iona.
Except against some kind of combo that could escape our hordes of enchantments(or maybe we don't have the exact enchants to protect from the combo) then Iona comes for a better job. Single example for emrakul: cryptic command to tap us out and bounce the hoser then win next turn. I don't wanna strand too far as I don't have any preferences.
My humble opinion is that any of them, or even some other finisher I haven't thought of can be put on the spot. But changing one for the other doesn't help in the important parts, that are the bad matchups (control and tron).
So, the enchantress only came out on T3 when I had Favor of the Mighty out on T2 (happened sometimes), but usually I got her out when I had about 4~5 mana to retain priority and cast some enchants to net cards. With the Favour, she does a great job to net cards, and although she died to removal(a lot) I would not take her out, as we really need card advantage in this deck. If we had some better engine for netting cards I would exchange her, but more than 80% of the times I played her, it felt better than having Wall of Omens or Endless Horizons.
As for Iona, I think she can be replaced, she felt like a win more(although it is important to have more than one wincon in the deck and I think she is more feasible to cast through disruption than Emrakul), except one time I got her out on T5 with 3 plains, Nykthos, Leyline, Runed Halo, Ghostly Prison and another Nykthos in hand for exactly 9 mana, but I don't think that is likely to happen again lol.
Hi guys,
so, I was messing with something similar to this deck, and this thread helped me with some great ideas.
I have a lot of friends that play modern so I kept testing this deck with them,
first, my list (pretty similar to some I've seen here):
So, with this list, I did extremely well against my friend's Jund(and he was still using Death Rite Shamans lol), I wrecked a Living End, beat a GW auras( and wanna point out the sweet interaction of Favor of the Mighty, Porphyry Nodes against the aura deck). I did fairly good against kiki-twin. But I've found some problems in control matchup, and lost my hope in the tron matchup... even when I tested Stony Silence I just couldn't beat Gr Tron a single time.
I don't have them yet, but I will get 3 Ghostly Prison for the deck, I didn't find the extra tax from Sphere of Safety that relevant. But what saddens me is that I wanted to keep the deck monoW, but maybe the red splash will be mandatory against tron..
One thing I haven't tried yet is Open the Vaults, it seems sweet against back to nature(the main source of my defeats against green).
Like.. really, Akroan Crusader, Grond Rift, Young Pyromancer, Empty the Warrens, Goblin Bushwhacker, (even grapeshot on your own akroan if you have him, and on the opponent if you don't);
This feels like it could be something. And doesn't even need to go full storm deck mode..
I also thought of the heroic that draw cards, but 3 mana is too much I guess..
Opponent played a mono green standard deck. Was really bad. He kept playing out deadly recluses. Very little pressure. T6-7 Living End with loads of creatures on his board and lots in my graveyard. Finish the game in two swings. Both games were rinse and repeat.
Round 2 - Black Red Standard Vampires (2-0):
Same deal as the mono gree deck, but I kept the clock off with spike feeder for a bit until his creature count became critical. Living End wipes him out in two swings. Rinse and repeat.
Round 3 - UWR control (2-0):
Opponent had U lands on the table, my Land destruction keeps him off of U. Doesn't see any counters for the whole game. Pathed a few creatures. Not a problem. Living End T6-7 makes it happen.
Round 4 - Affinity (0-2):
Opponent nut draws, has ravagers on the field. Not enough cyclers for me becomes a blow out. Ingot chewers come in, a suprise Boros Charm after Living End resolves seals game 2 for him.
Round 5 - Modern Goblins (1-2):
Opponent puts early pressure on with triple Goblin Guides. Keep his clock off with Spike feeder. No lands. T4 I resolve Living End with Demonic Dread. Bushwhacker comes down. Just get run over with Goblin Grenades.
Game 2 I resolve a bunch of Spike feeders. Opponent has no reach. Gnaw to the Bone twice. Won the game with over 20 life.
Game 3, comes in heavy with Goblin guides. I think his last card is a lightning bolt. He top decks a Bushwhaker and hits me a with a grenade. That's game. Didn't see any sideboard cards.
But the twisted abomination is good against control both for the landfetching and for the regenerating ability, it served me better than main board spike feeder because my meta has got lots of control
Interesting concept. Have you played it at all yet? I'd be curious to see if all those little bonuses add up to anything substantial.
In an unrelated note, I read the deck title as 'Knights of Chloroformia', and expected a very different list.
I`ve played agaist GR Tron (lost most of the games lol) and against Esper control (mostly won). Just those paper decks, I still need to test it in cockatrice
but it`s nice to hit tons of damage with a 9/4 shroud creature(Naya Hushblade)
I was hopping to get an aggro deck after so many control and combo deck I've made and the alara block multicolored creatures came to my mind!
The idea is multicolored creatures gaining incremental advantage from Knight of New Alara and Civic Saber
here's my list so far:
Trust me, if Preordain were unbanned, it'd probably make Serum Visions unplayable Jank, just like before...
Sleight of Hand isn't worse than Preordain, both let you dig and take the best of the situation... Preordain simply gives you the option of digging one card deeper...
People ONLY play Serum Visions because Preordain/Ponder are banned...
That's my point, if wizards printed out something worse than preordain but better than those two used now, people would easily(though not pleasantly) use.

3 Sigil of the Empty Throne

ok, changing the list!
the loxodon smiter doesn`t do for me because I play with decks with mass removal, that`s the reason for the escort
The idea is multicolored creatures gaining incremental advantage from Knight of New Alara and Civic Saber
here's my list so far:
4 Knight of New Alara
3 Arbor Elf
3 Noble Hierarch
4 Dryad Militant
4 Bant Sureblade
4 Naya Hushblade
2 Dauntless Escort
3 Wilt-Leaf Liege
4 Qasali Pridemage
4 Path to Exile
2 Razorverge Thicket
4 Temple Garden
2 Sunpetal Grove
6 Plains
7 Forest
My other Idea involved a sideboard toolbox with Glittering Wish but i don't know how to use the card right
Do you guys have any suggestions?
