MTG Salvation

I was hoping that there was a little more content with regards to Arena Bo1 here, but I guess not. I wouldn't say I'm a great (and sometimes not even good) Magic player, but Arena, with the quick games, has gotten me practiced with certain aspects of my game. Things like when and how aggressively to mulligan, when to concede, and remembering combos have really improved in my game.

I haven't spent any real money in Arena, and have only improved my deck via spending in-game earnings. My favourite deck right now is:



It's time for the Sporeweb Weaver to go, and I'm wavering on the Lovestruck Beast. Most of the rest I really like, but I'm wondering if there's a good deathtouch creature that can be inserted that can help instakill with Rabid Bite and Ram Through. Thoughts? My last upgrade was completing the Elder Gargaroth playset and upping Nylea, Keen-Eyed at the expense of an Arasta of the Endless Web, which has been a good change.

If it's something as innocent as this, that would be great. Many aspects of my internets are exploding, and looking at Rick and replacing it with Odric, that eases some of the surprising stress I've had about Magic over the last couple of days.

But since we're in the Rumor Mill, who would the other cards translate to then? The next generation of Innistrad heroes?

I was watching a video on 7th edition foils, and remembered that I had a pair of foil Thorn Elementals and was curious if they were worth anything. Turns out, they're utter jank and worth ~$0.50 while the next least expensive foiled rare is $5. Is there a reason for this disparity? Was it a promo that there's millions of? That's my only assumption, and I wouldn't waste time asking here, but Google isn't helpful when you put in a MTG card and the word 'price' together in the search bar :/

Oof... well I dipped my toes into PucaTrade again, and after getting most of my 'points' back in trade, I'm officially leaving it behind forever. When all was said and done, I traded a Flooded Strand for a Thassa, Deep-Dwelling plus 400ish points I am writing off. Never mind the HOURS I spent fiddling with the site and figuring out their insane economy. After not getting any bites for a few weeks on some cards I was looking for, I simply put the highest price on a bunch of standard cards to cut my losses, figuring that inflated standard prices would get a taker.

Oh well, I guess that site is as dead as this thread is...

Has anyone given thought to swapping to snow basics to be able to use On Thin Ice?

I actually built a bookshelf specifically deep enough to comfortably hold the 800 count boxes

The problem has come with more recent sets (I keep playsets of all basic lands + tokens) where the 800 count don't quite cut it anymore. Most sets seem to be happy in the 930, but, yeah, M19 decided to be extra special...

I have some of the double rows, but they are clunkier, and have a lot of dead space on the top and sides (my adjustable shelves leave less than 1/4" space above the boxes). They are also a lot harder to rummage through, as I'm very used to searching regular boxes, and hate flipping through a box like the old card catalogs. Plus, I keep playsets in penny sleeves, and when they're stored upright like that, I always feel like I'm introducing dust or debris into the sleeves if I search those boxes too much.

lol, this is probably way too eccentric/anal of me... but this is the one thing I've decided to collect, and dammit, I'm going to collect correctly

I like to store my sets in BCW boxes, and for the most part, a large set fits into a BCW 930 count box. However, M19 is a little on the bloated size, and I need something longer. I mistakenly bought the 1000 count GAMING boxes, that are even smaller than the standard 800 count boxes... grrr what a waste of money!

Does anyone know of a source that sells something longer than the 930 count box? Any help is appreciated.

Never mind, figured it out under the oh-so intuitive filter "Not Collected."

This seems like such a stupid question to need to ask: How do you redeem wildcards? It seems to me that you can only get copies of cards already in your list? Why is this so unintuitive?

Pile A:

1x NM-/LP+ Arabian Nights City of Brass

Pile B:

3x Cavern of Souls AVR
3x Aether Vial (any)

With the continual spike of Arabian cards, I'm wondering if now is the time to let my City of Brass go? Would getting Pile B be good value? A lot of modern staples have rebounded very well upon reprints, and I would expect Cavern to do the same. Is it worth Pile B?

Should a Cardsphere thread should be started to keep this more on topic?

Ahh, I misunderstood Pauper. I thought there was a dollar threshold on legal cards for the format. Forgot it was rarity.

Standard Bearer? Pauper all-star priced out of the format? Went from $1 to $10 overnight for those unaware.

Unless my timeline is wrong, Amazon has had access to media mail from its inception. You're likely thinking of something like the Workshare Discount Amazon likely gets from the USPS.
