Comparing the two Bolas side by side:

    Mana Cost: God-Pharaoh
    Starting Loyalty: God-Pharaoh
Loyalty Gains Over Time: Planeswalker, but it's only relevant if you minus first, other wise it takes 3 turns to outpace God-Pharaoh
    First Plus Ability: Planeswalker
Loyalty Count After First Use of Minus Ability: Equal
Minus Abilities: Pretty equal, but leaning towards God-Pharaoh since he can close out games by himself
Ultimate: Planeswalker's ultimate is stronger, but God-Pharaoh can do 14 damage to the dome in the same amount of time Planeswalker can ramp up to its ultimate.

I think being 4UBR over 4UBBR is huge. Grixis is in the artifact colors and being cheaper / more splashable means it's not too hard to ramp God-Pharaoh out by turn 5 with Worn Powerstone / Coalition Relic / Thran Dynamo / Coalition Relic. That and the fact that God-Pharaoh can close out games by himself makes him more desirable than OG Bolas.

God-Pharaoh's first and third abilities seem to be where the meat and potatoes are at. The 2nd ability seems a bit situational, I feel like I'd only play this if there's nothing to hit on board and my opponent has a lower curved deck. The ultimate seems kind of redundant since you'd rather just dome them for 14 over the course of 3 turn.

Memory Lapse and Commit // Memory seem fun with the +2 ability.

The ultimate seems more geared towards multiplayer.

Obviously this is good on turn 3, but on turn 8.... yuck...

I don't agree with this, I think the opposite is true. Exerting your lands during the development stage of the game hinders you more than the late game, IMO. This lets me keep counter magic up late game and I can still have 4-5 mana open next turn while 3 of my lands stay exerted.
This doesn't just keep the 3 lands you tapped to cast this tapped. It keep all your lands tapped during the next turn, regardless of how they got tapped. So if you cast this, then had 4 mana for cryptic command, all 7 lands would stay tapped the next turn

Lands only stay tapped if I tapped them in the first place. If all I did on turn 8 was Bontu's Last Reckoning, I still have 5 lands for the next turn assuming I didn't do anything on my opponent's turn. Either way, you have counter magic up for at least one turn.

To be fair, most planeswalkers are awful at stabilizing a wide board state. Only Ugin / Elspeth, Sun's Champion / Chandra, Flamecaller have real sweeping abilities. Like Karn, Bolas can at least blow up the most threatening permanent and then possibly dig you out via cascading your opponent assuming your opponent goes for your life total instead.

Using the +2 ability to reveal a mana rock is going to be super feels bad. Savannah Lions / Llanowar Elf can at least block, lol.

Now that I think about it, Bolas 2.0 is very reminiscent of Karn. Both cost 7 mana, they exile cards from hands, and blow up things. Karn can exile any one problematic permanent, but Bolas being able to go straight for the dome is a nice tradeoff.

Not being able to untap your lands isn't as bad as it seems since this only costs 3 mana. This is potent for superfriends control and this is probably my 5th favorite black sweeper. I don't like it more than Deluge / Damnation / Languish / Expertise though, safe pass for me.

Nicol Bolas can do 14 damage straight to the dome in 3 turns....

Bought airplane wifi for the first time in my life, was NOT expecting HOU spoilers....

Being one mana cheaper is huge so is being able to go up to 8 or 9 loyalty. The fact that his -4 can dome the opponent for 7 is what makes this card appealing to me since he's a legit win condition and can pretty much nuke any planeswalker / creature. I'll definitely be testing this over OG Nicol Bolas (which is currently riding in the sideboard because I was testing Samut).

Exhume is a staple if you support pure reanimator combo. While Reanimate / Animate Dead / Necromancy can be played in other decks as a value spell, Exhume is pretty much a reanimation only card (which is nice since nobody is going really take it).

My favorite symmetrical effects are Braids / Smokestack, Stax all day!

whats wrong with you? this is a small familiary subcommunity in a subforum. We could also just ask Noobincube to change the topic to AKH spoiler and general discussion. he might be so kind.

I get that the cube forum is a niche community within a niche community, but I've been getting multiple complaints about thread derailing and flaming. I'm all for discussions branched from other discussions, but there becomes a point where you need to take it somewhere else and get back on topic.

Played against Harsh Mentor a few times this weekend and it always kept at least 2 things in check. Very solid and annoying to play against. One scenario I remember I had Scroll Rack / Memory Jar in Grixis Artifacts and another match I had Wasteland / Rishadan Port / Cursed Scroll / fetchland playing Orzhov Aggro. I barely won this match vs Rakdos aggro. He had me pinned down with Harsh Mentor / Sulfuric Vortex, and it came down to two 50/50 Cursed Scroll activation to take out his Harsh Mentor and his Grim Lavamancer. Luckily, my Cursed Scroll hit its mark both times and I was barely able to come out on top before Vortex did me in.

Liliana has exceeded my expectations. She's almost always reanimating some value creature right out of the gates like FTK or Grave Titan, even in creature light control decks.

Gideon is solid, although his Platinum Gideon ability really hasn't been abused yet. Still, I like both his offensive / defensive capabilities.

I've had a lot of experienced / active magic players play my cube and not even know X card from Commander / Conspiracy exist. Throwing off players like that is always fun, it's nice to know that I can still surprise seasoned players out of nowhere.
