While yes Atraxas end step trigger is sweet, there will be people that will gun you down for having her simply as your general(I know, one friend would not shut up because of her existence -.-). I think having the three nicol bolas, Ral zarek, r/b daretti and conflux among anything else I forgot to mention are worth splashing red
Yea, I think I am still gonna go with Progeintus and then if he draws too much hate, I will switch him to something else. i kind of want to avoid Hivelord, as while yes, he does have indestructibility and i can run some sliver to benefit from that. I pull him out and people will see slivers, suspect sliver tribal, and gun for me.
My general for 5c superfriends is horde of notions. His existence is literally to kill opposing planeswalkers. Nice stats for doing so as well as can put a decent clock on an opponent if nothing better is going on. Plus he draws the least amount of attention when compared to the other selections for 5c. Slivers? **** that guy, child of alara? **** that guy. Horde of notions? Eh he could be tribal *windmill slams a nicol bolas with Doubling season*. Anyone can play anything, I just like killing walkers that are not mine
Yea Progenitus can kill most walker in one hit as well. But he has a much shorter clock. Get one universal boost and his clock becomes 2. pull of Ajani Unyielding with rings and another universal pump, that clock jumped down to 1.
EDIT: Just learned, the list of PWs I want to run, i am at 31... i am going against my own advice.
it happens. I found the best way to protect the walkers is by making combat as difficult as possible. Stuff like Mystic barrier(such an awesome bulk rare), dueling grounds and if you're up for the heat it offers, humility(which is a soft lock with Jace, architect of thought). If by some chance they get through that and still not happy with the damage, splash in turbo fog. I have about 8 fog effects in the deck and I make sure it prevents all combat damage. It's hilarious making people question their combat if you have even one mana up. I think the turbo fog route is the most successful in my opinion.

How is running 30+ planeswalkers a poor decision? I've had 5 color superfriends for 3+ years with 30-31 walkers and having a great success with it. The addition of deploy the gatewatch has been great, I've had only a few whiffs on the card(there are similar cards for other types of cards and see play). Also, how has anyone not mention the red black daretti? Protects himself with Tokens that can blow up problematic artifacts as well as best case scenario, three rings of brighthearth
I never liked playing wraths that destroy and/or exile planeswalkers in the same deck where its main win condition is planeswalkers, because of spells that are like Knowledge Exploitation
From my experience with Superfriends EDH, the following seem best to protect planeswalkers. Humility, Dueling Grounds & Silent Arbiter, Mystic Barrier and fog cards. I currently run all of the above along with Fog, Dawn Charm, Ethereal Haze, Moment's Peace, Tangle, Holy Day and Comeuppance. I have always been surprised how effective these were at protecting them. I also run Kor Haven which is hilarious with Dueling Grounds or Silent Arbiter. Humility is insane with Jace, Architect of Thought and Chandra, the Firebrand. Even though some of these fogs are one time use, that is enough time to activate some of your walkers and slowly take over the game. The fogs are also effective ways to gain temporary (or sometimes permanent) allies in an edh game. I like the results, but this is just my opinion.
