What do you guys are thinking about the best version from Momsie's article ?
I am torn between gw value and our deck and I was wondering myself if gw is not a good compromise between those two decks and plus it gives us a good matchup against tron and a combo to kill.
I prefer the GW version, because I don't like the seer/black version anymore. And the land destruction is great, I play it already for some weeks now and I like it. I'm even thinking about adding just 1 ramunap excavator as a potential target for chord, seeing how it could lock down Tron, but that's maybe too greedy
I played both last few months. I was torn before I played the GP and I chose the GW Version. Most of the feeling I had afterwards was regret. The version feld not so smooth as the Abzan version. Right now in the current meta I dislike the midrange plan. It loses to Humans. The combo plan seems the right way to go in my testing. But what my article says, with this deck it is all personal preference.
Choke should definitely be included. It hits Jeskai, UW and Grixis really hard. There are other random blue based decks that it hits hard as well. If you want to make a blue mage cry, drop a choke onto the battlefield.
And just hoping to draw the one-of in the deck? I don't think this is to way to attack blue control decks.
How valid is Infect in the meta. It keeps popping up in random events. It seems in a metagame with Jund and all the midrange decks it is not a good choice.
Against Control, just play Fulminator Mage. Its never a dead draw like BM and Molten Rain can be, and Fulminator can get in for dmg. As soon as they point a removal spell at it, sac it and destroy a Colonnade. You can also destroy Azcanta as it flipped.
For the Control matchups, BM cant be an argument for me, since we have access to Fulminator if we want.
Fulminator is great vs Colonnade Control decks, wheras BM and Molten Rain are bad or only ok. Fulminator presents a threat and likely trades 2 for 1.
I don't think that the Abzan shell is powerful right now, at all. A more tempo oriented variant is the way to go since it also utilizes Jace, the Mind Sculptor well. I based the list on Kelvin Chews latest Bant Company list with Jaces.
I like the way this list is build. I just dislike the fact that a T3 kill is nearly a small percentage. Just 1 Chord of Calling makes it hard to combo off quickly.
In the current meta you might steal some wins on the T3 possibility, but the style of midrange game you can play is good.
I havent put it together online yet to really test it, but I have to imagine you are taking a bit more shock damage, as I dont really want a Basic Mountain in the list, but if you did go BBE, I think you would limit Blue to a lot less than I have in my current list.
Feels pretty good, but I would probably drop 2 Jace, 2 Vapor Snag, 3 Queller, and 2 Selfless Spirit, and go +4 BBE +4 Bolt + 1 Tracker. Sideboard would get messed around too, removing the Blue interaction for White hate, and some Helix's. Or something.
Mana base, I would likely drop a Forest and a Plains, and then add 1 Stomping Ground, and 1 Sacred Foundry.
Fetches would drop 2 Flooded, for 2 Arid Mesa? Yeah something like that. :]
I think there will be a difference between 4C Naya with Retreat and Aggro decks. My guess is that the BBE versions realy resilliant is. But this claim is without any testing. I find it hard to lock on to one of the lists and go jam them on MTGO tho
Congrats with the oke finish.
Do you have a sideboard guide that is updated?

Can you be a bit more specific? What match up or situation are you refering to?

And the mainboard?
Heavy on the lili plan. You dislike the Molten Rain?
How is your sideboard build?
