Came second place at my local store brawl FNM (8 players)
I only lost one match and had one draw.
I dont block any creature attacking me as long as I am over 15 life. My goal is to cast Huatli and then protect her while rushing for her ultimate. After that, you quickly gain life and just stonewall your opponent with a big army of tokens and creatures while drawing multiple cards to prepare you alpha strike.
When you have Huatli and Oketra Monument together, it just bomb.
Two time I was able to Ultimate Huatli while having an Oketra Monument. I was drawing two card each time I was casting a creature. I almost decked myself.
Here is a picture of one of my match, where I clean all his Gearhulk with my Dusk then deal 18 damages with 5 1/1 tokens, a Skymarcher Aspirant, Gideon and Huatli.
I think it was the worst story since a long time (for reference, Tarkir bloc was the peak quality and I enjoyed Amonkhet a lot.)
The story of Ixalan and Rivals seemed so removed from the cards.
The vilains (Vona, Kumena, AZor) where just pathetic, almost comic relief. We had pirates from Disney cartoon.
The cards depicted each factions fighting ea h other for the control in the city.
It did not feel like that at all in the story. Following The Race, it was more about 5-6 persons who keep stumbling into each other, almost by accident.
I enjoyed the long ark (Azor plot and Bolas), but these plot element were clearly decided a long time ago. The Ixalan dressing around this "Bolas vs Ugin plot spanning centuries", made the whole thing feel weak and of poor quality.
In a couple of year, Ixalan story will be mostly forgotten and looked like a low point.

The whispers started when Sarkhan went to the Eye of Ugin (that is why he was Mad at that point, he was sitting at the eye hearing Ugin/Eldrazi voices) Really..call it a matter of Ugin being heavily involved in the creation of the Eye of Ugin...
This is inaccurate.
As stated in the Madness of Sarkhan Vol story, he started earing Ugin voice when he was a young Mardu raider, years before his spark ignited.
Up into the Qal Sisma Mountains I traveled, seeking a call whose words I did not understand. I wandered alone through the snow, sometimes fighting the huge beasts that prowled there, but I did not know what it was I heard.
He went to see a Temur shaman;
They remembered the old ones. Although the dragons flew no more, these folk heard the roaring and whispered songs of claws and blood. There was a word. A memory. A name I should know. Do I hear it now?
I spent many moons there among the whisperers, but in the end I could not stay. Talk of memories, echoes of voices: these were not enough to sustain me. I had found a kind of peace, though. Maybe I could carry it with me.
It is stated in the Planewalker Guide to Tarkir that Temur shaman are able to speak with people from the past
Shamans speak of "frozen memories," but every Temur lives simultaneously in the days of the ancestors and in the present. Temur whisperers are also sometimes known as the "weavers of the three destinies," referring to the past, the present (which they call "the now,"), and the future (called "the unwritten now"). They are far more aware of the continual and overlapping nature of time than ordinary Temur, seeing the past and the various possible presents all at the same time.
I played monowhite humans a lot last year and it was good until April 2017, where I was no longer able to win with it because of the change in the Meta.
Furthermore, how exactly was Sarkhan able to travel through time in the first place?
Simple explanation
The actions of Sarkhan in the past (Fate Reforged) disturbed the timeline. Since Ugin did not die in the past, his bones (Ugin's Nexus) in Khans or Tarkir are surrounded by a magical anomaly created by this disturbance in the past. It is the place in time and space (Nexus) where the fate of Tarkir was changed, so this is why it is a portal through time.
Also, Sarkhan hedron shard has nothing to do with time travel, it is only used as a search device to find Ugin and then to create the cocoon.
In Sorin's Revelation story, it is clearly stated that mortal cannot go in the Ugin's Nexus, only someone with a Planewalker Spark can approach it without being torn to shred.
"Take me down there. I must see for myself."
"It is dangerous," his guide said, emotionless. "All who enter the chasm have died."
"I don't care," Sorin said with a surge of ire. "Move. Now."
They reached the floor of the chasm. A section of skeletal tail could be seen jutting out from the snow, the bluish mist emanating from it. The closer they got to the bones, the more Sorin could feel the forces at work—powerful magic from another age.
These were Ugin's bones.
The warrior guide began to falter as he struggled forward.
"Stop," Sorin said. The warrior wobbled on his feet. "No need for you to get ripped to pieces. Move back."
The warrior turned and took shelter in the lee of a boulder as Sorin moved toward the ghostly arc of ribs that rose overhead. The closer he came to them, the more he could feel the tidal forces of magic as they pulled at the very fibers of his being. He could feel the spark within him respond, holding him together as he moved upward through the Spirit Dragon's ribs toward the skull
But then how come Sorin did not travel in time you ask? It's simple, he was not able to draw Disenchant with his Bitter Revelation, so he was unable to destroy Ugin's Nexus and gain the extra turn.
Everything is about the need to keep/restore the "balance", the asian concept of Yin and Yang.
From Shun Yun, khan of the Jeskai, in the Fate Reforged Story
Although they seem at odds, the clans live in subtle harmony. The Abzan promote stability and trade, patrolling the roadways. The Mardu range far and wide, killing dragons that might otherwise grow to menace the other clans. The Temur are hardy folk with deep spiritual roots, and their shamans warn the other clans of dangera lurking unseen. Even the Sultai, untrustworthy although they may be, keep the pests and horrors of the swamplands under control. And the Jeskai, above the rest in their mountain monastaries, serve as Tarkir's memory, keeping records of the tales, secrets and truths that might otherwise pass into the tumult of history.
Then in the Khan of Tarkir timeline, here is a quote from Narset;
This world is in pain. You feel it, don't you? For centuries the clans have fought. When the dragons lived, we struggled for survival against them. But when the last dragon fell, we turned on each other. What balance was struck in our mutual fight was lost long ago. Now even our quiet strongholds kbow the shout of war. The Abzan leave their sturdy fortresses to seek enemies on the steppe. The Sultai send forth armies of the dishonored deaf. Even the hardy Temur descend from their mountain. And over every land, the Mardu ride, and raid, and ruin. We have lost our way. I fear soon the clabs too will be only bones in the wilderness, gnawed by wild beasts. All that we have built will crumble away until even the past is gone.
There nothing more depressing than wasting a removal on Kitesail Freebooter to then have it save by Supernatural Stamina and steal a better card that he draw later.
Played against two UB Midrange and 1 Sultai Energy. I really like this deck.
One game I had one Fatal Push and 3 Bone Picker in hand on turn 4 with 4 swamp on play. Fatal push his creature, play 3 Bone Picker. This deck is really fast. Sometine they scoop by turn 4.
This is a brew I made and plan to use at my local FNM. I would like your suggestion
So far I had success with it on MTG Online
The goal is to have these 16 2drop hitting hard and bringing them back with Claim/Faim.
I cycle a lot to build a big graveyard and wiping the board with my Archfiend. Then I bring the Abandonned Sarcophagus to bring all the big cycler back on the battlefield
I have 10 Lands with Cycling. The Fetid Pools is for the blue splash.
