Agreed, but Im not in BW to beat the mirror. Our best cards in that mirror are Lingering Souls, Blight Herder, Oblivion Sower, and Vault. Path is there for all the matchups we still need to win that aren't Eldrazi.
Thought-knot is the best eldrazi in my opinion but a fair card; I don't think seer followed by smasher is a so common play. Smasher is good but not game ending; and it's not so good if oppo has many creatures in play. It's good with mimic because mimic is a trouble, it can end the game in any moment. Endless one can be killed by abrupt decay and many other cards.. I agree that without mimic the deck is less less explosive
TKS is fair on turn 4. Not on turn 2.
"Fair" is loose. The card is pushed even on T4, to be honest. A very efficient creature on curve. Insanity on T2.
There are cards in every color worth playing. The reason we are black is to take full advantage of the urborg/eye interaction. Without eye, black needn't be automatic.
Eh, eye enables us to chain herders, and it lets us search ulamog for inevitability. I think the deck is significantly worse without it. In fact, no reason to be black anymore, as urborg is just bad.
How are you a delver player and think snag is bad? The deck is trying to kill asap, and snag pushes through damage like no other. Without twin in the format, its about time to just be as linear as possible. Land a couple threats and turn sideways till you win.
Is there any merit in running 2 All is Dust? What decks would a second copy in the SB come in against?
All the matchups you bring in Languish/Damnation against. They are better because they are cheaper and consistent for turn 4. I think the opportunity cost isn't worth running 2.
Not true. You certainly want languish/damnation against affinity, but All is Dust is ***** there. Its actually why Ive moved away from it. Great card, but the deck I want a sweeper against most is affinity, and its just not good there.
Playing the Gen 1 pre oath version a lot lately, Im almost positive 4 sower is too much. They are so bad in multiples. Unlike blight herder that you can chain for free. Ive died way too many times with sowers in hand.
Its not what tron players think. Its what tron opponents think. No chance in hell affinity isn't siding in blood moon vs you. In fact, the decks that played Blood moon as a post board win con (twin) are gone. Whats left are very aggressive blood moon decks that beat tron with their clock while tron tries to durdle around. Saying twin is gone and now so is blood moon is an insanely foolish mistake, and Im positive time will prove me right.
Thats so false. As with any 3 color mana base, there is an opportunity cost of running more of your third color. While casting TKS on curve is nice, Id much rather have T1 IoK and T3 Souls in the dark. Those are just better cards in the vast majority of matchups. If I lose consistency with being able to cast some worse cards, fine, but Im not cutting consistency of casting the best cards in the deck and my entire sideboard in order to hit curved out smashers. Not worth it at all.
Herder produces colorless and I run 4. Truly have never had an issue finding SOME colorless source, especially with maps. If I cut them, I may move to some caves, but I can't really see how those are any better than fetches and shocks.

To add to this, its a magus of the moon that doesn't keep us off our color requirements to remove it. Seems pretty bad.
