I hope that some of the guys are here to give us some insight of their personal results, since it was TEAM Modern, those standings are not necessarily indicating how the U-Tron part of the team has performed.
There is no real "most recent" list, since most of the guys here have a slight different approach to the deck, you can literally look up page 713+ for the lists that are currently played.
I'm running almost the exact list, I do not currenlty have a strong sideboard though. I'm missing a chalice, EE, and Surgical extractions. I've noticed you have pretty good results against aggro/tempo based decks. Merfolk is miserable for me and you have 4-0. is EE winning you these match ups? Is it something else like aggressive mulligans? Also, combo seems to be a miserable match up. What tech would best fight combo?
Interesting point, have missed the Merfolk results. I don´t believe that EE wins these matchup alone. Its our worst I would say (aggressive, counter main, islandwalk, tap/bounce creatures). I am very intersted in his analysis as well. I have something like 25% winquote against them..
shoktroopa has spoken You are right, There is no more than 5 flex slots - the list is really stock right now. This deck needs just smooth play and a patience.
Fast aggro is a challenge but there are still chances to win - chalice of the void, all removal spells from SB helps to go through.
I'm testing right now sorcerous spyglass in place of single pithing needle (I like the card against decks where I usualy put chalice on 1) - in my testing the "looking" part is really nice I found needle effect to be really important in my meta (gideon tribal / lilianas / other tron decks and esspecialy GW knight of reliquary ponza deck).
@spreading seas: I run 2 in SB and it is very good card even against 4/5 color decks (like humans or traverse shadow) messing with their mana really buy us some time.
Do You ever tried playing all is dust in SB? I'm lookin for some nice sweeper option against smth like Elves/5C humans - they are so fast :/
Im currently playing 2 O-Stone´s and 2 Ugin´s main for that as my anti-aggro package.. works good for me tbh - but I have also thought about a 1/1 split of O-Stone/All is dust... wasn´t able to test with that yet.
I feel that Seas is important for us in certain matchups (Every Tron MU, Valakut, Humans..), I think it affects a lot more MU´s than Hurkyls for example. I dont play any Hurkyls in my Sideboard actually - because it is just needed against affinity - and even that does not win us the game.
I don´t really like cards in SB which are just raelly good for one matchup.. and I dont consider Lantern to be relevant for Hurkyls because the matchup is good for us anyway.
By the way MonotedBoss just click on ur own link of spellskite for some rulings. U just gave urself the correct answer behind the link.
@Maxwell do u regret any choice u made after the event? For example the second ugin, explosives, second stone, no Talisman.
Would u change anything for further events like GP Lyon?
Nope I did not and was never a Talisman fan tbh. The second Ugin is beyond awesome imo - the only thing I would think of is replacing the second O-Stone with one copy of All is Dust - but I´ve not yet tried it.
Other than that I would most probably bring this list to Lyon if the meta does not change drastically until mid Feb.
I could have easily gone 7-3/8-2 but made a harsh misplay against DnT and got out-lucked by Scapeshift in G3.
This is my modern deck, long time lurker on the forums. Been playing online for a while.
I am never sure what to do with the sideboard, not my strong suit.
-Flashfreeze for red/green matchups
-Mana Leak for burn
-Extra Cyclonic rift for aggro
-Condescends probably to fill it up
-Spreading Seas for counter tron and other land hate
-Summary Dismissal for storm
In the main deck, I like the 2 Wurmcoils and 2 Ugins. Both of those cards are really consistent and I love drawing into these cards.
Trying out anticipate and supreme will. May replace them as I'm not terribly happy to draw into them.
Curious on the land base, not sure if i should try more blue, as I do run 3 talismans.
Hi and welcome to the thread!
To your list: with 4 Thirst, 1 supreme and 4(!) remand, 2 treasure mages and 2 repeal, I don´t see a point also playing anticipate. I would rather fill up the slots with the condescend which are, at least for me, most of the time the best counter for our needs.
Also, in 90% of the time I feel ruins beeing better than TecEdge nowadays. Can you explain why not playing a single copy of O-Stone?

Anyone here who has any ambition for bigger competitive play this year?
I will take U-Tron (if nothing is banned, or the meta is 100% against us) to the following events this year and hopefully make Day2 at a GP:
GP Amsterdam (Sides)
MKM Series Hamburg
GP Brussels (Sides)
GP Prague (Mainevent)
GP Stockholm (Mainevent)
Hope to see some fellow U-Tron players around Europe this year.

Regarding your manabase, with 9 blue sources you are on the higher side of the basics. A lot of lists (including mine) are playing around 6-8 basic islands. You are also playing talisman as blue sources, so you could probably even cut basics for utility lands without having a lack of blue (Tolaria West, Oboro, Palace in the clouds, Gemstone Caverns or even River of Tears if you want to include Dismember, Engineered Explosives or Surgical Extraction).
I see you are also lacking single-target removal like Dismember or Spatial Contortion which could be worthy additions to main as well as the SB.
