I might be on the ban mania train at this point. I'm just so tired of watching things be the way they are. This isn't good Magic. And by "good Magic" I mean it actually feels like Magic. For example, Gitaxian Probe is a card I like having banned because it's not good Magic. It's borderline free for perfect information and it make you play 56 card decks. This isn't "good Magic."

In the same vein, I'm having a harder and harder time enjoying Modern. I dislike how Modern is defined by degeneracy (however you choose to interpret the word, it's how Modern has felt to me for a long time). I'm tired of there being these insane cards that enable so much absurd things. I'm tired of how UW is now my only control option for the most part. I'm tired of the gymnastics of testing new decks in an effort to enjoy this format again. When I first started playing the format the deck diversity was great and there were options, oh so many options. Now I feel like I have to be playing a deck I dislike playing in order to do well. I don't want to play Dredge, Phoenix, Humans, Tron, maybe Amulet. I don't want to feel forced into playing UW if I want to play Control. Maybe I just dislike how this is another phase in Modern's history, and I need to suck it up and just keep going. But at this point, I can even enjoy playing the format anymore. I don't feel like the format is diverse anymore. I feel like my options in order to compete keep getting smaller.

Maybe I'm not a fan of the Graveyard Check people were talking about earlier. I'm I being unfair to the format here? I just can't get behind the format and need something to reinvigorate my interest once more.

I guess while the mods are asking questions...

I've played Skred for a long time. Nearly 3 years, actually. I need to find something new. I've done very well with midrange decks that throw the opponent off balance for a few turns and then turn the corner into fast haymaker punches, but I want to expand past this. I've been looking at tempo or different styles of midrange/control and tempo for now. I've never been great with grindy midrange or tutor-heavy decks, but I'm willing to ease my way into them. I've never been fond of playing combo but could be convinced to play it. At this point I'm trying to decide between:

Literally any Delver variant
BUG Reclamation
Grixis Control/Midrange with Kess
Tempo Faeries

Obviously I can test all of these, but these are 4 very different decks. What should I start with, or lean towards given this information?

So I've been looking at building this recently, and wanted to ask about matchups. I've looked at the primer, and unless I'm completely oblivious it doesn't mention matchups. What are the good matchups for this deck?

I've actually been trying to make a Turboland Snow deck, and it's almost there. It needs one more pushed "landfall" payoff.

Mark, you specifically were huge for me getting into the format and forums. As a young person looking to get into Stax, I spent hours reading through the RW Stax/Bridge Prison primer and brewing with it. I guarantee you what we're working on is gonna be sick.

It's definitely heartbreaking to a lot of us, but being here has been one hell of a ride. I've grown a lot since coming here, mostly because I joined up and was subsequently brought into the mod team while in high school. Maybe in that regard saying I've grown a lot is, well, inevitable and actually doesn't say much about the how MTGS has influenced me. All the same, despite working on something new, I'm really going to miss this place. I've dumped so much time into this site it hurts to see it leave. I feel like a different woman than I was when I first started (although I wasn't a woman to begin with, so I guess my mileage may vary), but I've seen so much come and go in this community. It wouldn't trade this community away for the world. We've had our ups and downs, along with State of the Meta being... well, State of the Meta (long may it reign!), but I've loved interacting with every single one of you.

Mark my words, I will make our new home better than what we have here. We're gonna make something awesome, just you wait.

I've only recently started testing with Faeries (and I'm LOVING it), but I can't imagine playing it outside of it being a fun card. Then again, I also love Mistbind Clique, so maybe I'm a little biased.

Regardless of how poorly positioned the decks I love are, I've been playing Skred for nearly 3 years straight. I love the deck and always will, but maybe it's time to finally branch out a bit. I'm only playing at FNM, so I really don't care about building a pile of garbage and running with it. I want something somewhat affordable, so below $1k is where I want to be at. I've made a list of archetypes I'd be down to build. What do you think I should go with?

GW Aggro (Think Watchwolfs and Dryad Militants)
Some KotR Loam pile
Death Cloud
Hierarchless Zoo

I'm kinda leaning towards KotR Loam or Death Cloud.
