Living end probably doesn’t want it as it costs less than 3, the cascaders would hit it. Could enable a new version though, maybe utilizing As Foretold? Who knows

Could be me overreading imagery but the glowing orange symbol in the middle looks vaguely like Bolas horns. Could also potentially be the planar bridge. Weird to see those little flying cars as vehicles would be new to Ravnica. Of the two small figures on the ground in between the towers one seems to have a fur-lined cape and glowing purple eyes so could be Liliana.

Overall the story was fine, I'm always down to see cruelty getting its' just desserts, but I confess to be a little disappointed in Vivien. The flavor texts attributed to her in M19 were really..well fun. She seemed like someone who just enjoyed exploring the natural world(s) of planes and seeing what was what. I knew her backstory was that Bolas had destroyed her world and I thought a really cool character concept would have been a walker who tries to bury their grief/trauma by fleeing from it, enjoying exploring the vast multiverse. Instead we got another grim, traumatized walker with a tragic backstory. She seems like an interesting character, but not vastly different from Samut, Elspeth, Gideon, Nissa, Chandra and really the majority of others. We still don't know much about her and it's not like she needed to be the Gatewatch's comic relief, but we just have so many walkers who look at the world with a grim, desperate, and haunted perspective. It would've been cool to have a more optimistic character who, despite her past, could realize that there was now an entire multiverse available for her to explore and learn about. Like Jane Goodall w/ a spark. I suppose this isn't so much a critique as hopes not matching reality.

Also, just want to echo the feeling that there REALLY need to be more non-human walkers.

Is The power of the Immortal Sun really so incredible if two vampires can jump you for it like a back-alley mugging? The ease that Kumena got defeated with kind of threw me but i actually feel better anout it after reading other people’s posts. A lot of ideas that make a lot of sense. I’ll be shocked if Kumena is dead though. Throwing a merfolk out the window of a building surrounded by water doesn’t seem like a very permanent solution. Im pretty sure he’ll come back (probably w/ some henchmen) to try to get the sun back.

Jace/Vraska 5ever. Awesome story is awesome.

I need to get to the end of spoiler season. What I'm interested in almost more than rares or lords are the uncommon and common merfolk I think we can still expect to get (the Kumena's speakers, watertrap weavers and Cursecatchers of the world). Thus far I think the only really playable card we've gotten is mistbinder. But I'm still interested in messing around with Kumena. If we get a low cmc merfolk with a reejerey or merrow commerce type ability I think Kumena could easily be a standard issue top end for an aggressive simic list. Only time will tell though.

I'm also on the both train, my favorite planes are actually the ones where WOTC takes a real world culture/area and puts their own mtg spin on it (Tarkir, Innistrad etc.) At the same time it would be awesome to see some really unique worlds (both Vryn and Iquatana come to mind as planes that don't really have an obvious real world equivalent). So I would say Wotc should just keep on charging large and there isn't really a wrong direction to take.

I very much doubt we’ll see Vona get revenge on Huatli. I’m a big fan of the stories magic puts out but these days we’ll never see a pw being killed or seriously injured by a non-pw character. (Chandra getting f-d up by Baral being a big exception).

Article on the mothership says there are 6 elder dinosaurs that evolved separately from Ixalan's regular feathered ones. I would guess that means one in each color and a 5-color dino. It seems that they, along with the golden golems, are most likely to be the guardians of Orazca. This leads me to think that the start of the rivals storyline will deal with Jace/Vraska and co avoiding Orazca's security measures (which have probably been activated and claimed by Kumena)

Could you link the article? I can't find it with the new layout.

Genuine apologies, I can't seem to locate the article either anymore Weird but it was a throwaway line in the post where they were spoiling the cards exclusive to the RIX PW decks.

Elder dinosaurs in rivals though, I guess we can now safely say what got woken up when Orazca rose.

Great story, betting Kumena was the one who raised the city. I dont think Vona’s out of the picture. I wonder if Mavren will show up to save her from the dino or if they’ll come to Orazca separately.

Assuming the eternal sun can be used to exit the plane (which I am since im pretty sure thats how Jace and maybe Vraska will get away) Ugin used that to leave after he retrieved it from Elenda. Agreed that Angrath isnt an old walker. If my theory is right (which again it’s very unlikely) i would guess Angrath to be just one of the latest in a long line of dupes.
I agree though that i think he will probably just be a free agent and my whole idea holds no water :p
