I think it's quite clear, but gotta make sure anyway.
The ability/effect of Doran, the Siege Tower (and of Assault Formation) is a replacement effect that aplies only to combat damage, meaning that when creatures "Fight", let's say forced by Arena/Hunt the Hunter/Prey Upon, Doran would assign 0 damage since it's not combat phase right?
(Same for abilities like "Tap: This creatures deals damage to another creature".)
Oh Rezzahan, just realized: we missed one trigger.
After "2.2) Deepglow Skate enters the battlefield with 32 +1/+1 Counters", Fathom Mage (@ 14 power) evolves and would get 4 counters and allow to draw up to 4 cards there and the other numbers would change as well.
This isn't what I'm looking for in Standard but I'll put this in Markov EDH for sure.
Really??
So many great vampires. In this set there's like 4 or 5 I prefer over Bishop of Binding, including commons (being Dusk Legion Zealot one of the most radical choices).
Maybe it's because I play vs a lot of ETB effects or many "wraths of god". But I don't think Bishop will last and 3W is a high price for something that few times will work.
Anyway I have a question.
If I decide to exile a commander but the opponent just places the Legend in his command zone, would an attacking Bishop still power up a vampire?
If so, then Bishop might replace the Dusk Legion Zealot. (Maybe use it with my own ETB creatures like Malakir Bloodwitch or Bloodline Necromancer).
Thank you.
We got to the same numbers at the end of it all... I tought the replacement effects triggered and resolved for each occurrence of the proliferate. But if it's at the end I don't think we should have gotten to the same numbers. Strange.
Probably it doesn't make much of a difference.
1 Planeswalker (your favorite, as it's irrelevant who it is) with 4 Loyalty Counters
I'll do two actions:
1) Pay 4 and tap Contagion Engine
2) Cast Deepglow Skate with As Foretold.
No one responds to my actions.
What are the triggers and to what result?
To save you time from writing I'm stating here what I believe:
1) Pay 4 and tap Contagion Engine
1.1) First Proliferate adds 4 1/+1 Counters to each FM and MB (1 Proliferate + 1 for Scales, x 2 for Menace), 1 Loyalty Counter to the PW and 1 Time Counter to As Foretold.
1.1.1) I Draw 4 cards to FM
1.2) Second Proliferate adds 4 1/+1 Counters to each FM and MB, 1 Loyalty Counter to the PW and 1 Time Counter to As Foretold.
1.2.1) I Draw 3 cards to FM
Or do the creatures get 3 instead of 4 each of those times?
1 Planeswalker (your favorite) with 6 Loyalty Counters
2) Cast Deepglow Skate by paying 0 using As Foretold. (here it gets more tricky)
2.1) Inexorable Tide triggers and adds 4 1/+1 Counters to each FM and MB, 1 Loyalty Counter to the PW and 1 Time Counter to As Foretold.
2.1.1) I Draw 4 cards to FM (again this may be 3)
2.2) Deepglow Skate enters the battlefield with 32 +1/+1 Counters (15 thanks to Master Biomancer power, 1 extra to Hardened Scales and then double that by Corpsejack Menace)
2.2.2) I choose that Deepglow Skate trigger goes first to the stack
2.2.3) Cathars' Crusade triggers and resolves giving (also helped by the Scales and the Menace) 4 (?) +1/+1 Counters to each of the now four Creatures.
2.2.3.4) I draw 4 cards to FM (now it has 17 +1/+1 Counters if I'm not mistaken)
2.2.2) Deepglow Skate trigger resolves and doubles all counters, but a) Hardened Scales gives one extra, and B)Corpsejack Menace doubles the ones that are being put in this step
2.2.2.4) Draw up to 36 cards (what I don't want to loose the game drawing all of them).
Would you recommend to put 4 Squadron Hawk instead of some of those? Abzan Falconer and Ainok Bond-Kin would power up the Pridesmate but might not appear while the eagles, with one of them I'll be able to cast 4 creatures and thin a bit my library...
Also, I'm not that sure about High Sentinels of Arashin, I guess If the KTK creatures stay, then the sentinels might be a good card.
Other cards I have (ordered by type then relevance):
Question 1: Order in stack
Say player A has one or more Dictate of Erebos and has some or many 1/1 creatures.
Player B has a Goblin sharpshooter... which taps to kill a 1/1 creature. Q: What goes to the stack first? Does the Goblin Sharpshooter untaps first or does it has to be sacrificed first? Does it depend on who's turn it is?
Because if the Goblin Sharpshooter untaps first, then it can tap again and kill another creature and so on, not letting the (accumulated) "sacrifice creature trigger" resolves until he's cleared all the creatures it can kill, right?
Question 2: Erase
Person A plays Dictate of Erebos, and after thinking a couple of seconds, decides to sacrifice a creature (With nantuko, or maybe it's an eldrazi token which gives C).
Person B, pays one W and Erases the dictate. Q: Does player B have to sacrifice a creature? Is there a way (a timing) to play Erase and not be forced to sac?
Question 3: 2HG
In a 2HG match, Person A, in team 1, has Dictate of Erebos and decides to sacrifice a creature. Team mate, Person B, is no opponent and not forced to sacrifice anything. Q: Does both persons in Team 2, C and D, have to sacrifice a creature each? Or is team 2 just one opponent and they get to chose which of the two persons does the sac?
PS. I guess it's been donde before, but the Idea es to get like 20 goblin cards with Recruiter on the library and then activate Charbelcher. But it would had been nice to tutor it up fast with Goblin Matron instead of relaying on luck.
Regards.

Imagine this scenario.
I have in my control / In play
I'll do two actions:
1) Pay 4 and tap Contagion Engine
2) Cast Deepglow Skate with As Foretold.

At end of action 2
34 creatures: Master Biomancer with 53 +1/+1 Counter, a Corpsejack Menace with 14 +1/+1 Counters, and a Fathom Mage with 53 +1/+1 Counter. And a Deepglow Skate with 98 +1/+1 Counters.Did I go trough with this correctly??
PS: If I had Crystalline Crawler in there I could cast some cards. But not Winding Constrictor which would just complicate next turn even more!
Yes I'll drop Scion of Vitu-Ghazi and maybe purchase some other cards.
Oh and btw, my friends do play enchantments.
Regards.
And added coat of arms to make the tokens powerful.
I leave at the end the deck at the moment, but please let me know what would work better.
4 Ajani's PrideMate
4 Soul Warden
4 Soul's Attendant
1 Heliod, God of the Sun
4 Squadron Hawk

3 Angelic Destiny
1 Declaration in Stone

I bought soul warden, soul's attendant, ajani's pridemate and spectral procession, all 16 cards for $11.
Other than that I want to use only cards I already have, most of them cheap.
So far this is the deck:

Or should I put removal? (I have Shackles, Arrest, Banishing Light and such, nothing great)

Yes, I tought for a moment to include Tarfire. But there are others cards I prefer. Thanks
, Right?
