It never hits the graveyard due to the replacement effect. Just an intellectual exercise, in any event, since that circumstance will never occur outside of Against the Odds.
hrm....all you would need is some instant-speed artifact sacrifice outlet, Esoteric Duplicator, 2 mana, and an Ugin's Nexus. At the beginning of your end step, sac the nexus and spend the 2 mana, putting the nexus in your graveyard which then gets replaced by "exile it and take an extra turn after this one", so the next turn becomes yours. Take your next turn, then at the beginning of that turn's end step you get a copy of Ugin's Nexus, which you then sac to the outlet and spend 2--repeat. Cute, slow, and will bore your opponent into conceding, presuming they don't wreck that plan in some manner.
Given that this effect does not currently exist in Standard (and has only one instance in Pioneer), this is a welcome addition even if it won't be used very often. Better to have the tool and not really need it than to need it but not have it.
If cast on turn 3, this becomes a 6/6 attacker on turn 4, and then a 10/10 attacker on turn 5. Gets outta control pretty fast!
12/12 on turn 5, but by then who's counting?
Since it's the +1/+1 counters that gets doubled isn't it a 2/2 with 2 counters and then a 2/2 with 4, or a 4/4 and then a 6/6 and only then a 10/10 on turn 6?
Edit: nevermind I forgot about the extra counter every turn.
No worries--this isn't math class. I just thought it would be a shame for you to miss out on a couple of extra counters.
The Rodeo Pyromancers know that both Infernal Plunge and Rite of Flame are legal in Pauper. There could be potential there, but at the moment I am not sure what the payoff would be.
hrm...turn 1 Mountain, some 1-drop with haste (you might as well swing, since you are red)
turn 2 Mountain, Infernal Plunge, sac the 1-drop, Rodeo Pyromancers
turn 3 Rite of Flame, tap out, have RRRRR....or other basic land to have something + RRRR. Not entirely sure where to go with that yet. Meh--Swarming Goblins to get an extra creature or two out of the deal.
On an unrelated note, that locomotive is straight from Kaladesh. The only weird thing is that using Aether to power a vehicle would not produce smoke. Oh, well--wasn't my art.
