Gday Alexev always good to see more people play U tron, honestly in my opinion, if you are only running 22 lands and no talismans then yes you are definitely screwing yourself mana wise. i would personally take out silent arbiter from main, and also 1 epiphany and a spacial contortion for 3 talisman of dominance, if you dont run talismans then you should be sitting around 24 to 25 lands, and i would keep the second mindslaver in! its too good to take out. and there is to much graveyard hate in modern, i would never run less then 2 mindslavers in my opinion, im fairly new to the forum but ive been playing this deck on paper for about 2 years maybe 2 and a half, ive done really well with the deck and ive always run 2 mindslavers.

Hey, welcome to mono-u tron. If yo uwant to take out 2 cards, I would say the second mindslaver and the silent arbiter. Some people run a second mindslaver in the SB, but not all thats more of a personal preference I think. Silent Arbiter is great, I also run him, but in my SB. That will get you to 24 lands which is how much I run, and my decks runs smoothly with 24 lands. You should also try to fit in more spatial contortions or dismember. Spatial contortion is HUGE for this deck. One of the MVP's from many of my games.

Hows ratchet bomb working for you? I know some people used to run them then stopped, but i've considered it since i dont have any chalices. Other then that though your deck looks good to me.
I disagree about taking the second mindslaver out, i always run two, there is too much graveyard hate in modern not to, and sometimes you just need a value slaver to stabilize and have the other in deck or in hand for the lock,

Ok guys, I really need your help. Im going to a SCG invitational qualifier this weekend and could really use some help on my final decklist. Its in a different store i've never been to before in a different town, so i have absolutely no idea what the meta will be like. I need to be ready for anything.

Before showing you my decklist I have two quick questions. Whats the absolute final thought on thought-knot seer? I dont have any at the moment but if they have them at my store tonight should I buy a couple to mainboard? Next question is dismember. Is it me or are people not playing it anymore? And why? Is spatial that good? Spatial cant deal with goyfs and other bigger creatures that dismember can.

Also, quick note, i dont have chalices and oboro at the moment and wont buy them right now because of money reasons.

Here is my decklist with a "maybe" pile of cards I do have and can put in the sideboard. any help is really appreciated to get ready for this sunday. Thanks a lot.

Im actually pretty worried about my SB. I think my mainboard is ok unless i get the TKS then I gotta see what to take out...probably 1 remand and 1 treasure mage. But the SB is killing me with what to run. Thanks for any suggestions.

    TKS / Solem
My impression is community is still pritty split on TKS. Some like them a lot like pie some like troopa or me might never touch it, I have seen people plaing splits.
So here is my arugment against TKS:
If you resolve solem you get a land and probbly draw a card vs you see our opponants hand with a 4/4 body and if TKS dies your opponant draws a card.
Our deck has very little targets for removal and if you kill a thing like Wurmcoil / Titan / solem its not even that great because you get something out of it.
With TKS it feels for me often like you can only exile their best card at the time and that for 4 mana is not enough in my oppinion. That beeing said he really shines
in the combo matchups because you can take their best card and present a clock. TKS is a 4/4 body but that falls lackluster to Goyf / Tassigur / Angler / Steplinx / Deathshadow vs aggro is can block all the small things.
TKS cant be recurred with ARuins. Sometimes for gotten but vs jund its pritty great you thin out your deck chump their goyf every turn. TKS does not fix some color issues, this is most likely true for the non 10 island versions. But a hand with tron + solem is istant keepable tron + TKS not since you missing a blue source.

    Spacial vs Dismember
keep in mind dismember you still have to pay life bigger threads like goyf you just gonna bounce or Tassigur you can remand / counter later.

    MB / missing cards
Chalice is pritty important not gonna lie. If you loog at mtggoldfish meta infect is the most played deck at moment followed by 3rd place supid*****zoo both get crushed by chalice on one. Same goes for Snapcaster Mage pritty great in this deck. If you cant afford those cards right now ask there is maybe someone in your LGS or even your LGS who can lent you cards for a part of your price if you cash. Twoo has a great video on making trades for lending cards.

For MB you could cut one Fabricate four tutors is a bit much I would cut them down to three or even two. Add cards I mentioned before. Even second wurmcoil seems good at the moment and I am allways a fan of seoond mindslaver.

you can use epiphany late game when you are swimming in mana and then you can easily do it for like 12 or 13 and then if you split the cards up evenly you can gain like 5 or six cards out of it. or if you are mindslavering an opponent and you have heaps of mana left over you can cast it in their turn and get all the cards. you normally do it in someones endstep or when they are tapped out to gain a massive amount of card advantage.

Questions for people playing Epiphany at the Drownyard:
-Do you actually like it? Is it good?
-When do you play it? Do you use it to fill a curve, or do you save it for when you have tron?
-Is there a trick I'm missing that makes it better?
-Will you continue to play this over the newly-spoiled Fortune's Favor?
Epiphany at the drownyard is infinitely better then fortunes favor. i personally dont even think fortunes favour would be good in this deck at all. especially when there are options like Gifts ungiven and epiphany.

i have personally Epiphanied for 10 while i was mindslavering an opponent and got to put it into a 0-10 pile and forced him to give me 10 cards. its great Smile

    Okey enough now...
You know there is an edit function in this forum! Also a multiquote function. Its so annoying to scroll down here and see three friggen post in a row from you. Please start using the mentioned functions!
Sorry mate Alot of the time i just dont even think about it. my apologies to the forum if this has been annoying. i dont post on forums very often ( apart from this one) and havent really spent the time to work out how to do it.

I am seriously thinking about adding another Ugin. Sure he can't be tutored but man he wins games. Will probably drop my 2nd epiphany for him.
Do it man he is amazing! i run 2 Ugins and i only run 1 epiphany, there is no denying its power but epiphany is really just a card advantage engine and is more of a win more card. where as Ugin can just win games by himself. Smile Ive had no trouble at all dropping my 3rd chalice for a second Ugin Smile The dude is beast Smile Smile

went 5-3 and 4-1-1 and then 2-0 and split in the top8 of two events.

lost to burn guy cause I drew SUPER bad and still nearly got him but he topdecked a burn spell on his last turn and had one in hand (coulda sworn it was a land based on how he played)

lost to grixis control cause countermagic + a super fast clock I can't deal with.

and finally to RG tron guy who I ghost quartered 7 times but he still topdecked a tron land everyturn I was countered tons of threats until he went worldbreaker it next turn ulamog and karn and I was like uh

so whatever. beat lots of super hard matchups like RG Valakut, Grixis delver, and even infect 2-0 on the draw (both days)

next day I lost to rg land desctruction which I think is easy matchup but my opp got SUPER lucky. g1 he goes turn 2 blood moon and I have no islands what can I dO? g2 I win easily, g3 he goes turn 1 arbor elf. turn 2 the land enchantment twice, and arbor elf and blood moon and turn 3 finks, finks, thrun and I could have won if I topdeck a tron land on the right turn but my hand was all crucibles, negates, repeals, and condescends which did nothing :/

top8 I beat scapeshift then I beat junk.

and split to u tron in finals.

heres my list that I ran both days though I will add a second spellskite and a dispel to my list now. not based on these events but from all my experiences cutting the steel walls for them.

also I went 10-5 at a gp a month ago. started 10-0 then lost 5 in a row.

lost cause I got a game loss vs jund then not gonna lie I let it tilt me and played loose, not that loose but i played a batterskull when my opp had like 6 mana and 2 cards in hand and I had 10 mana and a condescend in hand should have done nothing but he untaps and goes like fulminator, ancient grudge, liliana

(could not condescend cause he blew up my untapped tron land

so I could have easily won if I was more patient and did not allow tilt to hit me.

then lost to another jund opp cause he got SUPER lucky draws. g1 I keep a slow hand that I mull and he goes discard, goyf, discard+ goyf and I just die.

g2 he goes discard, goyf, fulmi, fulmi, dicard + k command and my hand was a mediocre mull so I die

round 13 I lose to merfolk even though I ratched bomb and o stone his board both games but he draws 3 master of waves + endless lords both games so whatever

round 14 vs sscapeshift I mull to 6 then 5 (win) then 6 and he beast withins and cryptic bounces all my islands each game, there was also a crumble g3.

round 15 vs rg tron guy who goes turn 3 worldbreaker turn 4 ulamog more than one time.

    are you daniel goetshel?

Remand is amazing!!!!!! Dont forget you can remand your own spells in counter wars. and i personally run 1 ulamog, 1 sundering titan, 1 platinum angel, 2 wurmcoils ( sometimes 1) 2 treasure mages, 2 solemn simulacrum, 2 mindslavers, 2 ugins. and the deck feels anything but threat light?

a friend of mine playes U/W tron and we have a really good matchup against them. they dont have enough room for as many counters as we do, infact he only runs 3 remand and 1 spellsnare. we can lose sometimes if we dont have tron and they manage to unburial rites an iona on turn three. but other then that they are pretty easy for us to beat.

valentine69a All I can say is that not everyone has 7 RG tron players in their meta and not everyone can dedicate 8 sideboard slots for that matchup like you do. Other than that, practice is the only thing that can help those having difficulties. I would be one of them because I never play them, for me it is much more common to face aggro decks.

If it is anything close to standard, control decks are a pain in the ass to play against World Breaker and New Ulamog.
Those cards that are in my sideboard are great adains other decks as well not just tron.

    Thanks Valentine!

I think I might do that OMG I forgot about Solemn's raw value.. His CMC just annoys me. Id rather do other stuff turn 3-4.

Rift does a lot of work, and the double Ugin makes up for the lack of an O-stone. I may drop one for a Treasure Mage, I feel I am missing it in a couple matchups.

Yeeah Its only been useful against infect and occasionally Death and Taxes. Ill dink around with having an extra blue source.

The Fabricates do a lot of work, specifically after sideboarding and putting in my artifact-based hate, Chalice/Needle/Skite/etc, but Ill cut one and see how it runs it at my next FNM.

I actually dont like drawing Slaver unless I want a lock, at all.It annoyed the ***** out of me when I ran 2.

OH MY, UGIN DOES WORK. Yes, He's an 8-drop, and thats insanely high CMC, but I run 2 because I like drawing him in most matchups, and we cant tutor for him. Sometimes I'll ultimate an ugin and drop the second one, which is hilarious. His -X ability is highly underrated. It kills creature aggro decks. Kills. All of the creatures. and then +2 him up when they play more small guys.
the good thing about o stone though is that it can kill colorless things Smile

the thing about running mindslaver though is sometimes people have graveyard hate and you lose the lock if they exile the slaver.

not only that but if you run 2 then you can just use one as a value slaver even with out the combo.
    Its just soo powerful. Smile

cyclonic rift is great but sometimes destroying stuff with O-stone is better then bouncing stuff with rift.
and you can fetch it off fabricate Smile

Hello, I've been playing UrzaTron for closing in on a year at this point, and I am currently rearranging my list.

I dont know how to format decks yet, so here is my current mainboard:

    http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/monoish-blue-tron-d/

I'm thinking about cutting the 3x SpellSkites main (We had an infect problem for a little while, so they're there out of fear purposes), but I don't know what I'd cut them for. I dislike Warping Wail, and spatial contortion was used against me by infect during my brief testing with it. Adding more lands may be necessary, as up until recently I ran the Talisman build.

I may also cut some stuff from the sideboard for some negates.

Oh and here's another question (I've been reading and not posting for a long time) What do you guys think about running 1-2x Crucible of Worlds, and more GQ's or Tec Edges, to limit our opponents mana in the long game?
I went on to tappedout and play tested your deck.

I would cut 2 spellskite for 2 solemn simulacrum.( this is meta dependant, if your entire meta is all super aggro and infect and bogles then keep them in.

and i would cut 2 cyclonic rift for
    1 treasure mage.
    1 Oblivion stone.

Also with the urborg. when i was playtesting it there were a few times when i wished it was an island, i get that its there for your dismembers. but those are in sideboard and not as important as blue sources.

also i would definitely cut 1 fabricate (since you run 2) for another mindslaver

I always run 2 minslaver mB because of things that can get rid of it from your graveyard. sometimes you just need a value slaver as well.

Against alot of decks you can beat them with just 1 mindslaver activation.

How is running 2 ugins working out for you? he is a powerful dude Smile does running 2 make a big difference when you play in your experiance?
