Let's save the eldrazi for another day. Or year for that matter. There was so much eldrazi floating around for 2 blocks straight that it got old really fast. I'd like to see tribal decks where the tribes have basic lords that give +1/+1 and some ability or something along those lines. Not just a whole bunch of tokens to sacrifice for mana to ramp into an insane op creature. Also let's see cards that need reprints like oona or bitterblossom. Another thing I'd like to see is a balanced set of decks. This past year there was one insane deck one that was decent and the other 3 were pretty trash. The year before that there was again 2 solid decks and 3 garbage ones.

I doubt we will see slivers. The deck is too expensive by itself. Im thinking gwu elves, ub zombies, rw soldiers, and some 3 or 5 color elementals. There might also be a rwg humans with the new human legend that was just printed in amonkhet. I'd also like to see br minotaurs. That's a cool tribe with some fun synergies. Merfolk would be a pretty legit commander deck but like the slivers the deck is pretty expensive. No matter what way they go I expect to see some changelings to make a comeback.

It drops creatures up to 2 turns early. And it's helpful in multicolored decks where you can go grab anything you may need at the time and put it directly into play. That's why I see it as an aggro toolbox. I'm actually looking at a mono green with a couple big bombs in other colors and evolution to help me fetch them out.

Overall I think mono red will be the new deck to beat in frontier. Prowess is making a comeback and there's a bunch of decent removal in the color. And fling helps out with that. Cast it getting the prowess trigger and sacrifice something that you just made a little bit bigger should be enough to take out a bunch of the low toughness creatures that are running around. I think it will be faster than the emerge decks running around or the eldritch evolution decks out there. A r/g aggro might be up there too just because of eldritch evolution. It's a great card and I'm surprised it hasn't taken off yet. I played the crap out of it during the emn prerelease event in a r/g aggro deck. It got me t3 ulrich in like 3 games that I played. the other games I got him at worst on curve. those are the only decks I see benefiting from amonkhet in frontier. The rest of the set is pretty weak overall.

This deck isn't really creature focused hence the prowess creatures. There's 17 creatures but it's generally about getting out a couple creatures with prowess, burning their creatures away while buffing my creatures and beating face

The only reason I have goblin guide and blood moon is because I pulled them from a mm17 box. Most of those cards are from bulk pulls. Fat packs or boxes.

Check out the budget aristocrats video that mtggoldfish put up on YouTube the other day. It's kind of a midrange combo deck in b/w with blood artist in it. It looks like a solid build and I'm debating on getting the stuff I need to actually put it together.

You've only selected a basic land type. The creatures that tap for whatever color they tap for are unaffected. Same thing with abundant growth and guidance. Especially elvish guidance. The wording states that the land can tap for any color in addition to the color that land would normally produce. Something similar would happen if say a chromatic lantern was on the field. Yes you've made my forests tap for red mana only but lantern makes it so I can tap any land for any color I want.

Sanguine bond is a great card at 5cmc in many soul sisters/life gain type decks. The problem with it is it really only fits in those type decks. You're right in that it is a pretty narrow card but there's a bunch of decks out there that like this card. Soul sisters probably being the most popular. It can also fit into some sort of golgari or abzan life gain deck as well. If I'm playing this card I personally favor stuff like rhox faithmender or boon reflection. But again still very narrow because in sisters you want to be fairly aggressive with your play, getting a bunch of creatures out ahead of your opponent to give yourself the life advantage so it may or may not be worth it. The life gain decks I normally play are pretty control heavy so I can spend time setting up my board and making sanguine bond more worth while. That's really the deck it's looking for is a b/w control with a fairly heavy lifegain subtheme. So yes it's narrow but it's also worth it in the right build.

Noosegraf does quite a bit actually. Yes he's a 6 drop and there are definitely better 6 drops out there if you run your curve that high but he essentially turns from a 5/5 into 5 2/2's. If you're playing a token/go wide strategy which it looks like you are as a sub theme in the deck I think he works really well. I also agree that champion is amazing here. I also agree with an earlier post about sword of the animist. It can really help with fixing. Especially if you're short on a color. Looking at the mana base it does look solid but I'd still say it would fit nicely. Also a chromatic lantern is a must have in any 3+ color deck. Because you're playing with +1/+1 counters armory of iroas might be worth considering. I'm still trying to find a spot for it in atraxa. And a new card in debating on is walking ballista. Same cost as hangarback walker. It does cost 4 to put a counter on it but you can remove a counter to do 1 damage to creature or player.

I was just goldfishing my atraxa deck which has a similar theme of +1/+1 counters and I found a fun interaction that fits into ghave. Noosegraf mob and cathars crusade. The combo goes as such. With both on the field just cast a spell. It doesn't matter what type. The cast trigger off the mob removes a counter and puts a 2/2 zombie into play. Crusade then triggers on the token entering the battlefield and puts a +1/+1 counter on all of your creatures. So you in essence didn't really lose the counter from the mob and got a 3/3 zombie to go with it. And that's just for casting a spell. And bonus if it gets countered by your opponent because everything triggers a second time. The combo works even better if you have corpsejack menace on the field and you'll actually gain a counter on the mob on a the trigger from the crusade because menace will put a second counter on all of your creatures.

I agree with shmanka. Modern is all of standards mistakes from throughout the years rolled into one format. And with all these eldrazi running around that aren't able to be countered in one fashion or another it just amazes me that something as simple as paying 2 life to draw a card is banned. Yes the probe gives you insight into what your opponent is working with on t1 but it's still 2 life or 1 mana to draw a card. Another one that is kinda confusing as to why it's banned but not these ridiculous aliens we all know as eldrazi is deathrite shaman. Yes for 1 mana he's insanely good but you can only use his activated abilities once per turn. Outside of that he's a 2/1 for 1. There's too many cards out there that are banned in modern that I feel should be unbanned to make room for some of these eldrazi running around. Especially now that they're using the colorless mana symbol on things that add colorless mana instead of the old school number in a circle. It just makes casting them that much easier. WotC definitely needs to reconsider the whole colorless mana thing as well as some of these eldrazi that are a thing of which none are banned in the format.

So possibly a gravecrawler reprint because it wasn't in mm17? That would be nice. I need one more to round out my playset for zombies. Maybe the dredge mechanic will try to make a comeback. Or something similar.

I understand that that's what wizards said but it was exclusively lands in bfz and exclusively artifacts in kld. That's why I'm leaning toward a specific card type.
