Welcome @The Rematcher. I’m still figuring out the posting deck lists myself. Good luck. I really enjoy playing taking turns, I’m on a mono blue version. I like a good time travel story.

Went 2-0-1 again today at the Sunday afternoon modern event. 6 person, 3 rounds, we intentional draw to split prize money. Round 1 was 2-0 vs tooth and nail devotion deck. Round 2 was 2-1 to UW control. We played round 3 for fun, he was on dredge. I won G1. G2 I miracled a deviation tide to bounce a bunch of his stuff, but had no plans for the conflagrate in the yard. Was probably dead any ways. G3 I got to use commandeer against a conflagrate for 3 for lethal, but nothing for the 2nd one same turn.

Added 2 pithing needle for those pesky spirits, to name aether vial and mausoleum wanderer. 2 Grafdiggers cage for dredge, Phoenix match up. Is grafdigger good against storm? Shut off past in flames and all the flashback?

Hey, I was wondering, what does your Mono U list look like?

Jake, I am a little curious as to how you will handle the Jeskai Control match up. That deck always shows up no matter the setting. I've been running Thrun in the sideboard for that match up.

I'm interested in your approach to the match up. Maybe I will learn something.

Hi, I am interested into playing this archetype, is it worth to start with ht modern event deck from 2014? it goes for 109 on amazon and will save me chasing some cards around and it seems good value too

I would personally advise against the modern event deck. To get the more expensive cards bid on ebay. ebay also have 15% to sometimes 20% off of cars. Use to discounts to get the cards.

Hey guys, I'm coming from GW Taxes and hope it's okay to post here. I was wondering for the guy that play GW Taxes, how do you deal with Amulet Titan and Martyr Proc?

Here is the deck list that I've been running for reference. My sb is different due to meta changes.

I should specify what I'm asking. How do you guys approach the Amulet Titan and Martyr Proc match up? What are your sideboard cards?

Grats on another 5-0 Nonamealreadytaken. I've been playing the deck a fair bit recently and was wondering what are your mulligan strategies, if you have any at all.

I was wondering, with your list, how do you approach the Humans match up? They always seem to have everything exactly the time they need it.

To be honest... I'm a little underwhelmed. The deck is clearly powerful, but it isn't very smooth. I've had my fair share of clunky hands that just don't get anywhere good in time. That said, I've lost some matches to decks that I know aren't favored against E-Tron, so bad variance may be playing a role. I'll continue testing, because I do see the potential, but the warts made themselves apparent pretty early on.

I've had similar experiences with the deck as well. However, when everything does come together, it's quite sweet. I'm aware of your contributions to Merfolk so I am quite interested in seeing what route your take ETron. Best of luck!

I've recently taken the plunge and bought this deck on MTGO (which was relatively easy, given the overlap with some of my other decks), and I find myself wondering whether the Chalices should be in the main right now. I think Relics are better at combating the current field of control/midrange and fast graveyard-based decks, so they could potentially switch places in the 75. Thoughts?

I'm also a Fish player looking at ETron. How has your experience been so far?

*grumpy old man's voice* I don't understand what's the fuss with BBE, at best by hitting Lead the Stampede it's a slightly better Sylvan Messenger, and the second won't stretch our mana. *grumpy old man's voice*

Anyway, i'm back to a GW version with a splash of B for 3x Shaman of the Pack (almost as toolbox targets) - being able to have Stony silence, Rest in peace and whatnot in the sideboard is way better than any of the toolbox counterparts!
I don't actually mind using fetchlands and shocklands to support this plan to be consistent, the deck is super fun and has both a plan A (aggro/beatdown) and a plan B (druid + vizier/druid and ezuri combo), with plan C (grinding) made possible by 3x Shaman of the pack and 1x Eternal Witness (which is awesome against discard/targeted removal because it can reactivate either plan A or plan B once they're dealt with by the opponents: in fact it represents +1 of any card in the deck).
There is actually a plan D (surprise!) represented by Westvale Abbey.

All of these lines are backed up by a mainly GW sideboard with powerful hate cards and the option to go even more grindy (plan C, when plan A is difficult and plan B is shut down) with 2xlead the stampede and 1xshapers' sanctuary.
I'm finding this iteration of Abzan elves much more interesting than the usual GW version, and it has a ton of free wins!

Any chance you can post your list? I take it the one in your sig is out of date? I'm curious to see how your deck is structured.

If I wasn't sure before, totally sure now... played traditional slivers at fnm tonight and finished 4-0-1 taking an ID in the finals.

    Matches were:
    Abzan midrange 2-0
    Affinity 2-1
    Abzan elves 2-1
    8 rack 2-1
Kiki-exarch 4-0* we played 4 games for practice, and I won all 4.

Certain now that traditional slivers will be my list of choice for upcoming events.

Just curious, what is your traditional Sliver list? Is the Vial list in your signature or the coco + vial?

Reids 2 loses were from draft

A little new to watching professional magic, but why is the draft included in the modern event results?

That game 1 against Humans was amazing, he purely outplayed his opponent. I honestly cannot believe he won that, it should have been a roll. He knew when to block, when to attack. I would have been steamrolled in his position. I couldn't understand his initial swing in at all.

Really amazing, you don't see this quality of play on the SCG circuit.

It was honestly incredible, I could not believe how well he played that. Simply amazing. Hope he can get the second game, but it will be tough.

Hey guys, how important is Snapcaster to the deck? If my meta is mostly Affinity, 8 Rack, BW Soul Sisters.. can I get by with out it?

How crucial is Master of the Waves? Is he more of a meta call? There are times I find I sideboard him out completely. Now I just feel like doing -2 Master of the Waves +2 whatever else makes me better able to handle my meta.

Is this crazy or is Master of the Waves crucial?
