Reveillark was my number one most disappointing cube card. I had it in my cube for years and it saw basically zero play. White decks in my cube tend to either be balls-to-the-wall aggro decks that don't want to durdle with Reveillark or hard control decks that don't have enough targets for it.
Gonna get flack for this one but Balance has been disappointing for me. Yes, when Balance is good its REALLY good but it suffers from a similar problem to Reveillark in that it fits in a narrow range of decks and situations. Aggro decks don't want to wipe their board and control decks don't want to discard their hand. And in an unpowered cube its too hard to turbo out ways to break the symmetry. I assume its much better in powered cubes; I'm probably going to cut it from my unpowered cube soon.
What do people think of this card in a non-powered not-combo-focused cube? I'm not sure there are enough draw effects outside of blue mirrors to make it worth running. There are only about a dozen things that draw cards that aren't blue in my cube.
Sure its worse than Expanse/Wilds but I don't think I've maxed-out the number of 5 color lands I want. Even if I weren't running snow (I am) I would find a way to fit this in. Definitely belongs in every snow cube though.
I think it could be good but I'm a bit more wary than others. Blue has the hardest time protecting the Monarch and you don't get a blocker like Palace Jailer. All it takes is one stray token or mana dork to effectively strand this card in your hand.
On a recent article on Cube Cobra, the author says that a mistake of his was believing Seige Gang is a staple. I asked about it on Reddit and he's apparently not the only one who no longer likes Seige Gang.
Personally, I think that's crazy. I still believe its the best 5 drop in red and would only cut it if you're a full on combo cube with Kiki/Conscripts. However, due to a buddy moving away and COVID I haven't played cube in a long time so maybe things have changed? What do you guys think?
I have to agree that this card is more about improving your odds of having a good opening hand, which I like a lot. And even in the late game people still tap out often enough that a Force Spike isn't completely useless.

And do you guys think any of the Pathways are better than their respective man-land?
Do you have any opinions on Snow cards? Assuming the cube treats all basics as Snow basics.

Seriously what is up with this set and amazing two drops. I think all we need is a green one and every color will have gotten a new one from ZNR.

Creature - Human Wizard
As long as there are four or more instant and/or sorcery cards in your graveyard, Magmatic Channeler gets +3/+1.
T, Discard a card: Exile the top two cards of your library, then choose one of them. You may play that card this turn.
Good support for reanimator and spells-matter decks. Can't fit too many non-aggro two drops in red, but I think this makes the cut.
Creature - Human Cleric
At the beginning of combat on your turn, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control.
This set is killing it with 2 drops.
