Is there a nice .csv version of this table somewhere?
I have been hunting for a nice table I can manipulate in excel of all Magic Cards and their properties, and I cannot for the life of me find anything usable. No website seems to have that anywhere, any plaintext list is unparsable for one reason or another, and then I got to this and thought "Oh, I'll just use a json parser and convert this one" Wrong. Every converter I have tried has either failed, frozen, told me it was an improper json file, or tried to charge me for the privilege to convert one file.
Or if anyone knows where I can go to find a current database of all magic cards in csv/xls they'd be my hero.
I am completely flabbergasted that this doesn't exist somewhere.
Testing shows him to be OK in burn heavy decks, but generally just pretty average. Never had him really 'explode' except for in games that were already won.
This guy is better than Silverheart, but significantly enough better to make it in?
I'm going to have to test it out. Big with Trample, 3 turn clock seems pretty solid.
Someday I will get my 6 mana 6/6 Hexproof,Trample and I will cease my tireless search for the ideal green fatty, but until then, gotta keep testing.
but it's a mana more and the 3/3 body isn't exactly impressive in cube.
1 for a 3/3 body isn't anything to sneer at. Muse is a really solid card. That said, I don't have it in my 360 card cube, so I don't have it ranked above Nekrataal, Skinrender, Braids, Consuming Vapors, or Damnation for the 4 slot.
This guy isn't appreciably better than Graveborn Muse or any of the cards I have in right now - so I have to pass o him. Whether or not he may be a tad better than Graveborn Muse isn't relevant to me since neither one is good enough to crack the cube.
All that said - I think we are looking at a fairly solid creature, who is suffering from some downsides.
1. Dies to Lightning Bolt, Incinerate, etc.
2. Gets blocked and killed by Porcelain Legionnaire and all the other 3-power for 2 mana guys who are happy to trade with him (and legionnaire doesn't even trade!)
3. No immediate board impact for a 4 mana creature
Upsides are huge though
1 Good power-for-mana ratio
2 Absolutely silly if it connects
3 Trades with non-flying big stuff late game because of deathtouch (titans/etc.) - Lets look at how those stack up against the CMC 5+ in my cube;
Baneslayer Angel - Flies
Cloudgoat Ranger - Flies
Reveillark - Flies
Sun Titan - Still a 2-for-1 (return one when it ETB, another when it attacks)
Meloku - Flies
Keiga - Flies
Puppeteer Clique - Flies
Shriekmaw - Flies
Grave Titan - Still a 4-for-1 (2 when ETB, 2 when it attacks)
Siege-Gang Commander - Can fling two guys at this dude to kill him
Thundermaw Hellkite - Fies
Inferno Titan - Just kills this guy when it attacks
Thornling - Indestructable
Thragtusk - 1-for-1
Vorapede - Undying
Pelakka Wurm - Tramples through 4 damage, then draws a card (still probably a win)
Simic Sky Swallower - Flies
Batterskull - Attaches to another dude
Masticores - Just shoot this guy
Myr Battlesphere - WIN here, kills it off
Not as much help as you'd really like from that 'can trade' upside to even count it.
Certainly a good card, and probably #5-6 for me as far a black 4-drop creatures, but it isn't nearly as reliable or powerful as the stuff I have now. High-risk-high-reward type card should find room in cubes 540+?
Whatever form it takes, we are missing the (dare I say painfully obviously nonexistent) 6-mana 6-power green creature with Trample and Shroud/Hexproof.
Whatever it turns out to be, you can be sure that we're all going to be including it.
If your opponent plays around it, it's a one-sided Nether Void. If they don't, it's a Mana Leak that you can fit into your curve super easily without having to leave mana up. Brutal.
I've got a hybrid section in my cube, so figure goes in there. That leaves Ajani as #1, and I have Helix and Boros charm fighting for #2. I think Boros Charm gets the edge because it basically reads "Destroy Target Planeswalker or..."
I may end up adding only one card (Boros Charm). Not an exciting set for cubes. Although good for anyone who still needs to get their hands on shocklands.
I wish that somebody would host a nice complete .csv file somewhere that got updated every set though.

Small cubes don't have space.

This is why it is worse than the instant version. It can be played around. I would cube it (either version) in a heartbeat.
Undercity Kingpin (the 3 mana version) is awesome. Gimme gimme gimme.
