I just added Crucible to my cube for the lands deck and this seems the only card I am excited to include from this set.

Negate is quite powerful in my cube since I run an above average amount of planeswalkers. I've never been unhappy to run Negate in my blue decks because Negate shines in my cube environment.

Azorius has gotten a few really high quality cards lately that I am having difficulty choosing the six I should run. Right now I have:

Brago, King Eternal, Detention Sphere, Geist of Saint Traft, Narset Transcendent, Supreme Verdict, Sphinx's Revelation

Brago is an easy cut on the chopping block that is going to be replaced by Reflector Mage. Not exactly sure how I proceed from there though. I'm a little impartial of cutting Narset but I like fun, build around me type cards so she seems to fit the bill. I was thinking of cutting Verdict since it just comes down to being a board wipe in 2 colors. Nothing that would push you into Azorius like Dragonlord Ojutai or even Spell Queller would. Aside from that, I don't know what would be the third cut for Spell Queller if Narset isn't going to be cut.

    Nice Box!

I'm looking for a card box myself and I have problems to find one. My cube is ca 550 cards and I only can find boxes way bigger or too small. Any suggestions? Or do I have to make one myself?

I highly suggest a cube box by Aaron Cain because you can customize it to your liking. I just got mine yesterday and I finally replaced the BCW white cardboard boxes I've been using. The only problem with his service is that there is a long waiting period. I believe he waits until he accumulates enough orders for one type of box before starting construction. That said, I placed an order early April and only got it yesterday.

Also does anyone know how KMC Hyper Mattes fare for long-term usage? I was thinking of replacing my Dragon Shields since they get scuffed, cloudy, and sticky just after a few drafts. Do the Hyper Mattes have the same issue?

Thanks wtwlf123 for the article. I wasn't paying too much attention throughout spoiler season and completely missed Selfless Spirit was Stormfront Pegasus with upside. I know some powered cubes play Pegasus but it hasnt been a consideration for me until now with Selfless Spirit.

I thought Collective Brutality would make an appearance on your list towards the bottom 5. I thought Reanimator would want this card for the cheap 2 in 1 discard and removal disruption. Is it just simply not impactful enough? Otherwise great article as always.

So if I am reading this right, it has psuedo protection against your opponent's single target removal where it will wipe their board if they try to kill it? And on your side it's Zada, Hedron Grinder? It's an interesting effect to say the least but not sure if it will beat out my red 5s either.

I am still running a one of Darkblast in the sideboard over Disfigure. Is this a fine substitute? What 2 toughness creatures you want Disfigure to hit that Darkblast can't? Its proven its worth against Affinity and Infect since you can just mow down their early game.

I've run Darkblast in the MB/SB for awhile as well and the main thing you miss is Kiki-Jiki, Goblin Guide, Wild Natal and Eidolon of the Great Revel. Though for everything but Kiki-Jiki (assuming you're dead) you can do the upkeep trick to kill them but it feels bad. I still find Darkblast to be better than Disfigure to stop multiple mana dorks, tokens and infect/affinity.

Oh right I forgot about those, thanks. My meta has been infested with Affinity and to a lesser extent Infect that I forgot about Guide and Kiki as targets. I guess there's no point of switching since my meta is skewed towards Affinity.

    Love these guys

LOL, that was my friend on Saturday. Two weeks ago, he needed a playset for Standard and was willing to wait even though that was the last card he needed. After she spiked to $30, he tried to offer his most expensive card Grove of the Burnwillows for my 3 of my copies. No way in hell I would do that trade.

Peter Ingram won SCG Indianapolis with Jeskai Control featuring Nahiri.

Cedric and Pat did a pretty good job explaining why Nahiri works really well in that deck since Jeskai is filled with cheap forms of interaction and Nahiri forces their opponent to move or die to an Emrakul. It really allows Jeskai to take a more aggressive approach sooner which is something it lacked in the past. It certainly looked great on camera.

There's a Modern GP next week as well so I will be looking forward to see if she makes another breakout performance there. Currently, Nahiri is sitting at $35 nonfoil and pack foils have been bought out at $90 on TCGPlayer.

FWIW, Nahiri might be spiking again soon. She has risen $3 since her initial spike. Nonfoil copies are drying up on TCGPlayer at a current mid price of $25.

Keeps going up - $30 now. Did she make a splash at a tournament this weekend?

A big Modern event, SCG Indianapolis, is this weekend. I'm not sure how the results are but Shaun Mclaren has been writing article after article about Nahiri the past few days in Jeskai. If you have preium you can check it out but I guess I will hope it has camera time tomorrow or wait for a VOD.

I might be dumping my playset given a good opportunity. $30 is where I guessed this card would end up after the first spike. I wish I had a spare playset or bought more since she is a sweet card that I want to try outside of just EDH and cube.

Just a note, foils have been bought out and nonfoils are drying up on TCGPlayer.

I just think her high loyalty combined with her versatility mitigates the downside she is 2 color somewhat. It remains to be seen if she puts up solid results that puts away comparisons to Narset or new Kiora. But she has already been brewed with in multiple formats which is a lot more than either of the recent dual color 4 mana walkers can say for themselves.

I've been seeing a lot of talk here and there about Nahiri, the Harbinger as a potential spec. She has seen some Standard play and Jeff Hoogland has been brewing with her in a Modern Chord shell. Andrea Mengucci has even said she was viable in Legacy Miracles. And lastly there's the question of what she is the harbinger of coming in Eldritch Moon. It could be nothing but at this point that potential seems to be gravy as she already has been seeing play in multiple formats which is more than other cards like Drana and Relentless Dead have got going for them. Thoughts on her as a potential spec?
