Don't forget that Unglued was sold as $1 per pack. It was the funny joke set that we bought with that leftover $1-$2 in store credit. Getting a Blacker Lotus or even the common Chaos Confetti was fun to see.
I never bought Unhinged. It stopped being a joke when packs were the same MSRP as regular packs and that seemed like they were pushing too hard with the "ass" theme, the 1/2 mana cost and power/toughness life themes. It tried to make a joke rules change that you couldn't really play well with other sets. Unglued you actually could. Which made it fun.
I know it would have devalued these, but I wished these gods were in the Nicol Bolas Archenemy deck. That and some of the deserts. Just would have been more flavorful. So far I'm liking these. Want to build a Bolas Commander deck now with the UBR deserts and just a bunch of Amonkhet/Hour cards to make it feel like a true Bolas deck. Speaking of which, I wonder if Wizards will make a story themed Commander deck. Maybe Yawgmoth comes back and we get a Phyrexian Commander deck for him (yea right).
Also Exalted? A nice ability, but it still seems too new to me. Then again I have played since Visions. When are they bringing back Phasing?! Just kidding!
Brindle shoat seems custom designed for the Jund Devour deck (in fact, I'd bet it IS custom designed for it). From a commander perspective I'm bummed that the Devour X general is R/B and not also Green. losing access to Green limits his power a lot.

You really read that wrong. He was saying that if there were Guru lands it would be worth the money...but usually these sets have like 7-8 $1-$2 cards in them.

Pingers aren't weaker due to stackless combat damage.
Pingers have nothing to do with stackless combat damage. A pinger is a creature that can be tap each turn for a point. You can block and tap and still do damage.
Unless you are talking about a creature like mogg fanatic, which is not really a pinger. He was the only one really affected by it.
Anyways, as long as these are better than the original Golgari Precon + Isset precon, then there is something good. Which it will be.
Which reminds me, I was at Wal-Mart the other day and see they are doing their own "duel decks" with older unopened precons, with 100(!) sleeves. I was excited and was looking for Goblin Mob and Rat's Nect then I seen the price - $30!!
For two $5 precons and not enough sleeves to sleeve both decks??? REALLY??
Tarmogoyf is a Modern Staple. Virtually any deck that runs green uses it. Plus, it's a Timeshifted card, so Wizards already have a reason for reprinting it, if they really want to. Plus, it will help Modern to reach more players.
Or they can not play green, and play with something else.
Modern has too many Tarmogoyfs in it right now. It doesn't need anymore. Its not fun to play against the same card all the time.
I just wish they have Wasteland in here. I still have an old Inquest Magazine back when Exodus first came out. On the Price List is has Wasteland.......2.50.
If I knew then what I know now. Wastelands were basically just in sligh decks because of the extra disruption. Now they are a STAPLE in Legacy and EDH. I say just just allow Stripmine! Problem solved!!! J/K
