Thanks for the report. I know you'll get to the Pro Tour - keep grinding. It looks like you ran into a bit of rough luck and beating Humans 4-1 overall for a close matchup sounds good. It seems that Reclamation Sage was good for you and I have already been thinking about that. I'm going to make that change right now. I guess I may try Prismatic Omen again.

    Thanks, really hope so (:
Reclamation Sage was more usefull at the GPT were i face mirror with KHE, Mardu, Mono white taxes and RW prision. With mardu being one of the most played decks, you really need an out to Blood Moon!.

Well, this is what ive written in the Scapeshift's facebook group (:

First, my english is really bad, so sorry (:
Finished 9th at GP Sao Pablo, I already posted the list but can post it again, no problem. I got really lucky in some rounds but it was not enough :/
It all started right just winning a GPT, so i got 2 byes.

    R3: TRON (won 2-0)
Not much to say here, my opponent went to 5 and couldnt assamble tron before i played shift. G2 a Sphere gave me enough time.

    R4: HUMANS (won 2-0)
This is a fine mu, can be treacky but is important how they played it. If they went nut hand like Affinity (more on this later), its a nightmare. Well, he kept a normal hand, mine was better (:

    R5: KCI (won 2-0)
This is when I started feeling lucky. I know this is a not good mu, but sometimes you can get away with it. G1, somehow, he couldnt find the combo but i did. G2, he kept a one land hand and conceded the game without playing a second one (:

    R6: Humans (lost 1-2)
He drew stupid hand and won, not much to say.

    R7: Humans (won 2-1)
Well, in G1, i being on the draw, he attacked for 15 on his turn 3. Sick, right? It was like this
    - T1: Vial.
    - T2: Champion, Champion. Eot tapped vial for a Noble Hierarch.
    - T3: Mantis, vialed a Phantasmal Image coping the Mantis, attack.
I cant recall G2 and 3, but my life finished at 17 and 16, playing a Baloth in both games.

    R8: BBE Shift (won 2-0)
I find the combo sonner and G2 played 2 Baloth, Omen and Shift (:

    DAY TWO!

R9: Abzan Traverse (Yes, the same player that was finalist and took the 8th seed, won 2-0)
G1 He played Inquisition of Kosi, discarding Anger (my hand got a Prismatic Omen). Played the Omen. He forgot that Decay destroys Omen (he told me that after the game), and that lonely Omen with the help of 2 Valakuts cleaned the table and won.
G2 was a spicy one. I was at 4, with 6 lands in play, my hand was a Sakura, Baloth, land (already played one for the turn) and Shift. He got in played Goyf (i think it was 5/6), Grimm Flyer (4/4), Rhino and one Treetop Village. I could play STE, sac it, went for Shift to clean the board and then wait to win. Or i can played STE and the Baloth, gained 4 life to be at 8, block properly and won on my turn if he didnt drew discard or removal. That was a risky play, but i could win without drawing nothing else, so i went that way and it paid off (:

    R10: Storm (won 2-0)
After this round i thought was going to win the whole thing lol. G1 he kept a one lander, won easily. G2 my hand was not the best, but got me there. At some point he has no Blood Moon, no Baral or Electromancer. With 4 lands in play, 3 in hand (one was a Valakut), Shift and Prismatic Omen (this card is amazing, more on this later). Played Omen, Valakut (5 lands in play now), pass. He drew, played land tapped and pass. I drew Explore, played a land (3 dmg), played Explore and the 2th land (3 dmg), played Shift. Resolved. Went for the safe rout and searched 6 mountains and GG Grin

R11: Mardu (the winner, lost 0-2)
G1 i drew the Reclamation Sage which was discarded and then he played Blood Moon and lost because didnt drew a Titan or Pact.
G2 i drew poorly and lost with a blood Moon and a rabblemaster.

    R12: Humans (won 2-0)
G1 he got me down to 13 but i won. G2 i played Baloth, when got in play 7 lands drew a Titan. He vialed a Mage, think for while and name Scapeshift so won from there.

    R13: UW control ID.
Why do i drew?. Because he is my friend and we both gamble that if we won the last 2 rounds (which we did) we could both top 8. I finished 9th and he 10th =/

    R14: Humans (won 2-1)
Won G1, lost a quickly G2 and won G3 doing the Titan dance (!?)

    R15: CoCo (won 2-1)
Lost G1 by flooding a lot. G2 i literally drew whatever i wanted, it was like this:
I got 4 lands in play, a Prismatic Omen (this card is huge) and a Summoner's Pact. Drew Shift. My opponent got 3 lands and a Visera Seer. I got nothing to disrupt the combo. I can play Omen and left 2 mana ope to try to bluff something or take the risk. Went that way, Pact STE, played it and the Omen and pass. Opponent drew, play land tapped, attacked so i blocked and searched for a mountain. I needed Bolt or Valakut to kill the Seer.
Payed the pact, drew Valakut and killed Seer. Opponent drew, played something and passed. Untapped thinking "have to draw Titan and win" and i drew it. G3 played Sweltering t3 to kill a Finks and a BoP, 2 turns later played Titan. Next attacked, and play Shift and won (:
I was really happy until the top 8 anouncement.
I know that it is a really good finished, but was sooooooooo close to finally playing at the Pro Tour =/
Want to thanks Matheus Akio Yanagiura for being such a cool guy, we met, played in round 8 and then support each other every round. Congrats on your finish!!.
And thank every one, the idea of the Reclamation Sage main was from the guy hay toped at the classic last weekend. I cant remember his name, but that was clever and usefull.
Sorry if this is long, thanks for reading it (:

I was the one that finished 9th on tie breakers =/
Solemn works fine. I tested BBE but was having problems when i was cascading. Sometimes needed to cascade ramp spell and cascade into de removal. And cascading into Pactnis the worst thing.
Did a little report in the facebook group (:

I played in a 40 person Modern Staples tournament today.

Round 1 vs. Burn. He mulled to 6. I mulled to 5. I just didn't draw anything much but lands. Scapeshift may have gotten me there had I drawn a single ramp spell. Bolt of Sweltering Suns would have been nice. In the next game, he stalls out after I had turn 3 Obstinate Baloth. He has a card in hand and I'm at 1 life. I can't fetch, but if I draw Scapeshift, it's over. I don't and he draws another card. TWO Monastery Swiftspear to do the final point of damage through my Baloth for game. Frown 0-2.

Round 2 vs. BW Gideons. This is 1 of 2 guys who came from my LGS, separately. His discard doesn't line up well and his clock is slow. I do Prime Time to win it next turn, although I did have Scapeshift too. In the next game, he gets some pressure, but I find a land for Scapeshift with 6 lands in play and Sakura-Tribe Elder. 2-0.

Round 3 vs. RG Eldrazi. The other guy from my LGS that came with the Round 2 opponent. He usually plays Burn, but I heard him talking about RG Eldrazi, so we talked for a while about Modern in between rounds. I Bolt his Noble Hierarch and he stalls on 2 lands while I ramp up to Prime Time and then Scapeshift. He scoops. In the next game, he gets a Thought-Knot Seer, but I have Baloth soon thereafter and I get Prime Time after playing my 2nd Valakut. He had a Crumble to Dust that I saw from Ancient Stirrings, but declined, which I assume is the right play since he needs to develop his board, but I had drawn the 2nd copy. Got there through a Smasher by then. Slow Smasher and not enough interaction. Easy peasy. 2-0.

Round 4 vs. Jeskai. I mull to 6. He mulls to 5. I play ramp spells quickly and get 2 active Valakuts. He counters my knockout punches, but groups of 6 damage a turn get him to scoop. In the next game, things are going pretty well. I just Summoner's Pact for Thrun and had double Scapeshift in hand. But I FORGOT TO PAY MY PACT. Ugh. Been doing this a few times with Titanshift now. I probably would have won this one too. We get to the final game and he gets a Secure the Wastes for 3 and tries to get there, but I have threat after threat to counter until a Prime Time kills him. Got lucky after the game 2 PUNT. 2-0.

Round 5 vs. Jeskai. In the first game, we both mull to 6. I am not drawing a Green source and make a mistake of playing a Mountain instead of the 2nd Green source that I was trying to hide for next turn. I do Bloodbraid Elf into Sakura-Tribe Elder and he counters the Elder. I realize my mistake in playing the land before the BBE and scoop because I don't have double Green for Pact. In the next game, I mull to 5. He mulls to 6. I just get all of my stuff countered and he does a Secure the Wastes for 3 into Snapcaster Mage and 2 Cryptic Commands find him the Bolt/Lightning Helix to end it. Another mess up. 0-2.

Round 6 vs. Affinity. He gets Vault Skirge and then Etched Champion. I am scared because Cranial Plating is GG. He gets another Etched Champion, but it gives me some time. He gets a Arcbound Ravager, which is scary. He goes for Modular on an Etched Champion and I cycle Sweltering Suns into Lightning Bolt to End step Bolt him to 18 and then Summoner's Pact for Sakura-Tribe Elder, sacrifice it, and then Scapeshift for 18 lethal damage. Whew! In the next game, I made another big mistake. After doing an Anger of the Gods, he put counters on an Inkmoth Nexus. I didn't realize it was an Inkmoth Nexus, but that's fine. He attacked me to 7 poison with another land in play and Welding Jar. I forgot to Beast Within while he was tapped out and he animated it next turn to attack, to which I did Beast Within. He could have animated it again with itself and then sacrificed Welding Jar to save it. Then he could have killed me next turn. It took a good 4 turns after to kill him. 2-0.

I get in as the 8th seed as the only 4-2 with the best breakers. My round 1 and round 5 opponents top 8ed. My round 4 opponent was 9th by tiebreakers.

Top 8 vs. Humans. Okay, I played better here. He had a slow hand. His Noble Hierarch got Bolted and he had to play Reflector Mage. I think he needed a Rainbow land to cast Mantis Rider, but he told me that he didn't have those. I end up getting Prime Time and it's over soon after that. In the next game, his hand is just too slow, Sweltering Suns and Roast slow him, and I am nearly dead when Prime Time gets me there again. I am somewhat scared of a potential Image copying Prime Time, but it usually ends up not super good against Titanshift. 2-0.

Top 4 vs. GW Taxes. This matchup comes down to RED cards. I played Scapeshift in time to win when he had double Resto Angel and more on board. In the next game, I have to wait until I have 9 mana to play Scapeshift, pay 2 for Leonin Arbiter, and potentially pay 2 more if it's blinked. But he's hitting me with 2 Restoration Angel, although Obstinate Baloth is keeping Thalia and Leonin Arbiter from attacking. I finally pay 7 mana and he doesn't have a 3rd Resto Angel to slow me down and it's elementary from there. Scapeshift with 9 lands in play. 2-0.

Finals vs. Humans. In the first game, I Bolt the Noble Hierarch and he doesn't play a 2nd land drop the next turn, but only Champion of the Parish. I have a Sakura-Tribe Elder to chump into BBE to chump and then he plays a late game Meddling Mage naming Sweltering Suns, presumably because it wipes his board, except Champ, but I get Lightning Bolt back from Kitesail Freebooter and then kill everything. I draw land and play it to Scapeshift comfortably. In the next game, I get Tireless Tracker and even get 5 clues this game, but they all turn into lands this game and I lose. In the final game, he does turn 2 Meddling Mage, naming the Bolt in my hand. Then turn 3 Meddling Mage, naming the Anger of the Gods in my hand. But I ramp up and finally get Prime Time after an Obstinate Baloth keeps the fort down. The Prime Time easily gets me there. 2-1.

I finally win a 1st place. It feels pretty good after losing in the finals of a PPTQ with Standard Red and losing a bunch of top 8s recently. Finally, I finished it off, with the help of getting a LOT of good luck.

Good job, can you post the list? (:

I lost the semis of a 90+ PPTQ players, playing this:
    4 Titan
    4 STE
    1 Wood Elves
    4 Shift
    4 Bolt
    2 Anger of the Gods
    4 Search 4 tomorrow
    3 Far seek
    2 Summoner's Pact
    2 Prismatic Omen
    3 Hour of Promise
    7 Fetch
    6 Mountain
    3 Forest
    4 Stomping Ground
    3 Cinder Glade
    SB
    2 Chameleob Colossus
    3 Relic of Progenitus
    1 Reclamation Sage
    3 Obstinate Baloth
    1 Anger of the Gods
    2 Ancient Grudge
    1 Nature's Claim
    2 Beat Within

    R1: Lost 1-2 to Bogles.
Couldnt do much, this is an awful mu.
R2: Won 2-1 to UB Mill.
I still didnt know how i took this round. Lost G1 and then sideboard in the beats. G3 Prismatic Omen was MVP.
R3: Won 2-0 to Eldrazi Tron
G1 he aplied presure woth a t3 TNS, but then slam a Primeval Titan and that was it. G2 he kept a one land hand. Beast Within it then Bolt the token.
    R4: Won 2-1 to Affinity.
Was on the play G1, he was faster than me.G2 and G3 couldnt recall much, but a timely Anger (it took down 4 robots, so it was great).
    R5: Won 2-1 to Affinity
G1 couldnt find a win condition and lost. G2 and G3 were very close, but a removal + poor draws from my opponent gave me the round.
R6: Won 2-1 to Jund Moon (yes, he was playing Blood Moon).
G1 he took both of the win condition i got ib my hand (Titan and Hour) and didint fine other in time.
Sideboarding this time waa tricky, since i do sideboard in some Beast Within and the Relic. G2 he kept a weird hand, not applying pressure and no stripping my hand either so it was easy. G3 he stuck and early LotV, but could slam a Titan taking down the lady of the veil and a few beats later i was 5-1.
    G7: Won 2-1 to Affinity
I was 8th seed, so couldnt draw. G1 he vomit his hand and couldnt do much. G2 was rough, when i get 6 lands i got in hand 2 more lands, Shift and Pact. Played Pact because i though he had a Spell Pierce, so if he played it i let it solve (not paying for it), and the next turn, if didnt play Thougtseize i could play Shift easily. If the Pact would have resolved, i was goung to serch fpr Prime Time and wipe his board and won by beating. He played Spell Pierce so i didnt pay for it and next turn played a Lethal Shift.
G3 it was a REALLY hard one. I won it by playing Prismatic Omen with 2 Valakut in play to wipe his board. Then every land was dealing damage, so used first as removal.
Finished first, so i was on the play in every round.
T8: Won 2-0 to Naya Burn.
His first play was Eidolon which i quickly Bolt it. Played Wood Elves, more ramp and then Shift for the win. G2 i kept a good hand, but without a Baloth. He played Eidolon T2 and T3, so on my T3 i Anger both away. A few turn later, with 6 lands and my life was on 6, played a Prismatic Omen, then Shift (:.
Semis: Lost 1-2 to Bug Infect.
Yes, infect. It wasnt enough for my to had played against Bogles and UB Mill, i have to played against Infect. 3 decks out of the radar :/.
G1 couldnt do much, lost in t4. G2 he played his 3 infect elves and i promply Anger then away and won a few turns later. G3 i played a bolt and 2 anger to try to took down his lonely infect dude but he could protected three times and still infect me :/.
It was a good tourney and i hate the Affinity match up, is really hard one. Maybe next season i can won a PPTQ, lost twice in Quarters, 3 in Semis and a Finals:/

Well i played at GP San Pablo at the main event to a bad 5-4 with 2 byes. Face BG tron (couldnt find a win condition G1 and mulliganed to 4 G3), mono white taxez (not mucho to say, its a pretty bad mu specially when they get Thalia and Arbiter with protevtion early), Affinity (on G3 he xwas smashing with a Master, so i played Nature's Claim. That turn he drew Blood Moon and i couldnt find the sage or a pact). Then beated 3 grixis death shadow in a row, which was interesting, all of then were playing LOTV. Finally o felt to a aggro UWR with too many Spell Quellers =(
On sunday i played the power moder and the story was different. Beated everithing i face. Played against a weird UW tempo then BG elves, Eldrazi Tron, Grixos Death Shadow, Naya Aggro (not burn, the one with more creatures). The were 7 rounds so i thought badly that with 2 draws i was locked to played the top 8, so i ID r6 (in the iend it was luck as my opponent was playing Skred Red) abd have to win r7 in order to make it (this tournanent was played by 115 players i think). R7 was against a really cool guy playing Burn, i won but it was hard. In top 8 we split the prices and got a bunch of tix (:
This deck is a blast to play, so i will keep playing it (specially when i got Scapeshift, Valakuts, STE and M11 Primeval Titan FOILS =D )

Well, i played this (been playing with the same list the 5 PPTQ i've played):
    Creatures
    4 Primeval Titan
    4 Sakura Tribe-Elder
    1 Wood Elves

    Spells
    4 Scapeshift
    4 Lightning bolt
    4 Search for Tomorrow
    3 Far Seek
    2 Anger of the gods
    2 Relic of Progenitus
    2 Summoner's pact
    2 Prismatic Omen
    1 Explore

    Lands
    4 Valakut, the molten pinnacle
    4 Stomping Ground
    3 Cinder Glare
    6 Mountain
    4 Wooded Foothills
    3 Windsweapt Heath
    3 Forest

    SIDEBOARD
    3 Obstinate Baloth
    2 Ancient Grudge
    2 Chameleon Colossus
    1 Anger of the gods
    1 Graffdigers Cage
    1 Reclamation Sage
    1 Nature's Claim
    2 Engineered Explosives
    1 Relic of Progenitus
    1 Tireless Tracker

Round 1: Lantern Control Won 2-1
G1: He plays turn 0 a Linelane, turn 3 Bridge and my main cant beat that.
G2: He plays Turn 0 Linelane and a few turns later the bridge but i Natures natures the laneline and burned him.
G3: He plays Turn 0 Linelane and a few turns later the bridge but i destroyed the Linelane and burned him again (:

    R2: Mono red Lost 0-2.
G1: I was on the draw and he beated me the turn before i could combo him out
G2: Kept a spicy hand (2 mountains, a valakut, bolt, anger, sakura and the wood elves). Long story short, never drew a green source:/.

    R3: UW Control Won 2-0.
G1: He negates son ramp, but i could play prismatic omen. When i casted a titan and did 12 points of damage just by landing 2 Valakut, he scooped.
G2: I dont remember much, but when he tapled out i won (played 2 Scapeshift on the same turn and he only got 2 mana to countwr the first one)

R4: Jund Death Shadow won 2-1.
G1: He got an early discard but it wanst enough, get to 6 lands and Shift him to death.
G2: He got me with Fulminator Mage and remove all the valakuts from the game. Played a Titan, next turn played a 2nd titan and attacked with one, it wasnt lethal. On his turn he Pulses both and short after i lost that game.
G3: He played a a Thoughtseize and saw that u have a Baloth. I drew a few lands and ramp, so 2 turna later he played other Thoughtseize so i won 4 life and a 4/4 for free. Played titan and that was it.

    R5: Bant Eldrazi won 2-0
G1: Played an Omen on t2. He pkayed TKS and saw a hand that got 2 bolts, 2 prime and anger so he took a prime. Killed the TKS and prayed that he didnt played a second one. He plays Smasher, so a draw and play Titan killing his smaher and doing 6 to the dome. He draws and we went to g2.
G2 was very similar to G1, but he played a Counter to my titan bdut i got him a few turns later. Thats a good mu (:
Finished 3th, so u was on the play.
    T8 Affinity won 2-1.
G1: Kept a good hand but without removal. Needed to draw a ramp spell (my hand was 2 prime time and a summoners pact) or a land (was on 5 lands), drew the 2nd pact. Searched for Wood Elves but the turn i lost paying the paxt was lethal.
G2 i kept lands, ramp and 1 bolt and 1 Grudge while he mulligansd to 5 cards. He scooped when i olayed the 2nd titan.
G3: It was weird, got a good hand but he kept a not so good one. He gave enough time to land a titan with 5 Mountains, 2 Valakuts and a STE to shoot 2 creatures so when i untapped on my turn i basht him to death (:.

    T4: Lanter lost 0-2
G1: He played turn 0 Linelane and got t3 bridge so it was a quick gane.
G2: He locked me pretty quickly and that was it. At least i lost to my team mate and he took it down.

I really like how the list is right now, played 5 PPTQ and make itnto the top 8 at least so that is good i think. Im thinking to play the same list next weekend at Grand Prix San Pablo (:

Lost in semis og a 44 players PPTQ against Affinity with almost the same list as mRichi but with a slightly change in sb.
Won against Lantern R1, mirror R2. Lost to Affinity R3, won R4 against Living End and R5 against Mono blue tron (he made a huge mistake, played Thought Knot Seer and took a Primeval when my hand got Baloth, Ancient Grudge, 2 fetch and Prismatic while y got 2 Valakuts and 5 lands in play), and tied R6.
Top 8 played against Abzan (won easily) and lost to the same Affinity player.
I feel im close, but can take a pptq, lost twice in Top 8 and in a final :/

Lost in top 8 of a PPTQ against Dredge (didnt draw a single Relic or Anger in G3). During swiss beated Lantern (he got GL by tardiness), Counter Company, Mirror, UWr then i drew the next 2. Was playing almost the same decklist as mRichi.
I will have revenge tomorrow, hope to finally win (lost other t8 and finals)

I lost a PPTQ final, playing almost the same list as mRichi (only 1 card sb). Won against UW, Naya burn, a weird RW moon, UW, then tied the next two (34 players). Got game loss at the top 8 just because i registered a 57 card main deck, forgetting the 3 forest...anyway, won against UW, then beated the mirror and lost in the finals against a weird esper deck. Waa tired and im sure i made a few mistake, but the deck list is quite good (:

How are you beating UW so well? It seems like a tough matchup for us. I'm also curious about the Esper deck. Was it -
    1. Esper Control
    2. Esper Goryo Gifts
    3. Esper Mentor
    4. Esper Shadow
    5. Something else that I'm forgetting now...

I guess i got lucky. Most of my wins agains UW were because got 2 Shift in hand and my opponent only could counter one.
The esper dude was playing quite a lot of discards and i kept drawing lands when i needed a win condition:/

I played Zach Voss' list to a 2-2 result. Lost against an Esper Midrange-discard (not drawing nothing boths games) and mobo red (set chalice on 2, he plays 3 spells cc1...).
Won against a really bizarre UW enchantment deck and the final round to BG midrange.
I dont drew a single Chandra the entire tournament.
    My sb was different, was:
2 Ancient Grudge, 3 Baltohs, 4 Chalice, 2 Tireless Tracker, 2 Sudden Shock, 1 Chameleon Colossus, 1 Reclamation Sage
