Seriously, though, this is grade-A sideboard material. The last time we saw a cost-efficient anti-counter spell was Surrak... and that was a midrange spell in three colors.

Mainboard? Let's not go overboard with the hype train.

While this card is cheap, above-curve, and aggressive, that isn't always enough for some decks.

It doesn't fit into many synergies, its ability only helps against specific matchups, and its cost punishes you for using multiple colors. Unless you play in a very counter-heavy meta, I can't see more than 1 or 2 sneaking into the mainboard... and only for a few "toolbox-y" decks.

Sideboard? This thing's stats make it good enough for mainboard. It's {1}{G}{G} for a 4/3

It sounds weird no matter how you say it.

I believe it's ser-puh-perd. The ending is from leopard, and it only makes sense not to emphasize the middle syllable, because otherwise, it sounds weird.

I hope a card like this signals the return of Counterspell to Standard.

Like Path of exile, doubling season, wasteland & control magic, counterspell IMO will never be reprinted in standard. Maro has said that those type of cards r too powerful and he likes them but has to tweek them for standard. Ex. Doubling season-Parallel lives, wasteland-ghost quarter, control magic-4cmc blue cards w/ downsides etc.

Printing Counterspell in Standard makes it legal in Modern, which could have negative feedback. I for one welcome the true Counterspell, {U}{U} is more than enough of a limiter, imo. It might even make Modern more engaging, instead of the one sided "I got my combo before you, so I win."

1st since this Green card is 180/269 does that mean alot of multi colored cards to come?
2nd the way to say it IMO is SIR-POE-PURRED
3rd this thing is NOT a snake! It has 4 legs, fur & no scales. It should have just scales, small or no legs & its tail should look like the end of a snake

Ahh ok i didnt kno those duel cards had higher set numbers. Thats odd, even if they're mono-colored? id think they wouldve followed the same rules as reg mono color cards. Like white cards are the low numbers etc

It looks like all the weird duel cards are listed after the colors, so probably some gold and some of those.

I'm relatively certain a few of these live in my apartment.
